Extremely rude
The Healthy Home Economist is a Web site run by a woman named Sarah Pope. It features health articles on a variety of topics, including food and nutrition. Unfortunately, Pope herself is very rude.
On her main page, there's a "Shopping List" link that takes you to a list of products that Pope recommends. There was one product on her list that had been discontinued, leaving a broken link for months, and she failed to update the information. Recently, I submitted a comment and told her about the problem. All of her comments are moderated, so I checked back a few days later to see what she had to say about the matter.
Well, to my surprise, my comment never showed up! 😲 My first reaction was that maybe she never saw the comment, but then when I clicked on the "broken" link that needed updating, it pointed to a new product. So, she obviously DID see my comment, and took action accordingly. But oddly enough, she never approved my polite comment. Why was that? Who knows? 🤨 Not only that, but she never even bothered to thank me for pointing out the problem to her. Can you say RUDE??? 🤮
Incidentally, the new product she recommended in place of the old one is mediocre—I know because I've tried it. Also, some of her other recommendations are completely laughable. 🤡 For instance, she recommends the VitaClay slow cooker, which is a real dud, and the company who makes it is crooked as well. Similarly, she recommends the sleazy company Mountain Rose Herbs. Well, I kicked that company to the curb about a decade ago and have never looked back.
Anyway, even though Pope herself is extremely rude, some of the stuff on her site is worth reading, and she actually does have some product recommendations that are pretty decent too. My advice is to weigh everything you read there and always take what she says with a grain of salt. As long as you do that—and avoid interacting with Pope herself—I think you'll be just fine.
