Both of our boys went through Teach It Right 11+ tuition, and the staff were so helpful throughout. The materials and course structure were great, with tests every 6 weeks at the end of each topic. Individual feedback was provided for the kids with areas of strength and weakness highlighted throughout. The 'token' system they use is excellent for encouraging and motivating kids to get involved with the lesson and answering questions! I would highly recommend Teach It Right, not only for success in the 11+, but building confidence in children with their school work and education in general. Big shout out to both Louise's and Paula - all fantastic teachers!

Teachitright has been amazing. Our daughter loved her lessons and got the right practice and guidance to achieve well, getting into her preferred secondary school. Thank you so much to Chris and all the team. We can’t wait for our son to start with you next year.

UPDATE- Louise, thank you for your response. I don’t recall having spoken with you or receiving any phone calls, so there may be some confusion with another parent.
Just to clarify, there was no suggestion from you or the teacher to seek one-to-one tuition for our child. That decision was entirely ours, based on the feedback provided at the time, which we genuinely appreciated.
I would also like to emphasise that our intention is not to criticise your institution, but rather to share our experience so that other parents can make informed decisions. We believe it is fair to express an honest opinion, as long as it is done respectfully, which we hope is reflected here.
We are not pushy parents and strongly believe in allowing our children to follow their own paths. If we had felt that our child was not suited to a grammar school environment, we would not have pursued it. We recognise that every child is different and not all are academically inclined. However, in our case, we believed our child had a good chance, and that the process might have been less stressful had one-to-one support been introduced earlier.
There are no hard feelings at all, and I don’t feel the need to discuss this further, as our child is doing extremely well at school and is working at greater depth in several subjects. Recent SATs mock tests indicate that he is currently performing at a high level and is well on track to do very well in the May exams. That said, I do appreciate your offer.

Our son attended from Year 5, but we moved him to private one-to-one tuition after about four months. I have given two stars because the teacher was honest in expressing that the programme might not be suitable for our child; however, this feedback also seemed to affect his confidence, which led us to seek alternatives.

The structure involved a couple of hours in a full class setting along with a significant amount of homework, which we found overwhelming. For busy families, it can be very difficult to support a child through that volume of work, so if it is financially possible, one-to-one tuition may be a more effective option.

In our view, if a child requires several years of tuition, it may not be the right path for them. We were only looking for targeted support in Year 5, mainly for practice papers. Unfortunately, we felt the teacher lacked confidence in our son, and the environment resembled a typical school setting, with some elements that came across as overly judgmental.

There was also a noticeable culture among some students of comparing and boasting about results, often linked to having started tuition at a very early age. While this is not the teacher’s responsibility, it did not create a particularly supportive atmosphere.

That said, our son went on to pass the 11+ and was accepted into the school we had hoped for. We are sharing this experience so that other parents can make informed decisions. The 11+ process is already stressful, and we found that a more supportive and confidence-building approach made a significant difference. Every child is different, and in our case, focused practice with the right support proved to be the best solution.

We also know of children who attended Teach it right for a couple of years and did not achieve the desired outcome, which reinforces our belief that this type of tuition may not suit every child.

Our daughter attended from year 4 when topics were covered that would appear on 11 plus but questions were of the relevant ability. However the children got an idea of each question type. She continued in year 5 and was familiar with all question types, but the questions were of harder ability to replicate the 11 plus. Berks and bucks exams have a different layout so I feel this could have been emphasized in the practice exams. Overall we were very happy.

We had a wonderful experience with teachitright 11+ tuition. The teachers were incredibly knowledgeable, patient and supportive. They explained concepts clearly and gave individual attention to each child. My child’s confidence in maths and English improved so much. The lessons were always well structured and engaging.
I would like to mention Chris, who helped my son with ISEB test and interview. He is an exceptional teacher. He gave my son one to one session. He was very flexible about the timings of the session. He created the lessons both easy to understand and enjoyable. My son always looked forward to his class with Chris. Teachitright supported my son with 11+ and ISEB both. My son passed Buckinghamshire, Slough consortium 11+ tests and also ISEB test. I would highly recommend teachitright to pupils who want to prepare for 11+ in an environment that gives you confidence to achieve your goal without putting too much pressure on you.

There is no option to give negative review. Otherwise I would have given minus 5 rating for this centre. Classes are pathetic and the teacher won’t even check the home work or provide any feedback. I lost the money and beware of this centre. Chris is the person who manage this centre and he is only interested in money. AVOID THIS TUITION CENTRE

We worked with Chris for a few months' of ISEB tuition. Chris is the perfect mix of experience, fun and reassurance for both children and parents alike. He is always well prepared, goes the extra mile and really know his stuff. My daughter is dyslexic but he made the sessions interactive and kept her engaged throughout.

This little tutoring company is amazing, the teachers are great (kind, professional and very knowledgeable), everyone is keeping parents and children updated and give the best experience into a learning process; my daughter obtain amazing result at 11+ exam, but even more she learn resilience, what competition means, to takle her emotion , to deal with different staff, schools, regulation and she made another bunch of friends. We recommend the company to anyone looking for outside of school experience, even if grammar schools or independent school entrance are not priority.

Highly recommended for their dedicated staff, quick admin support and 1-2-1 feedback opportunities. Our child has grown immensely with them, which had positive knock-on effects on his regular school performance as well. Naturally, it would be up to the child to do the studying and the weekly homeworks, but if you think your child should aim for high academic performance, Teachitright is a great place to help with that aim.

My daughter started creative writing course online courses this month and she really enjoyed the first two lessons and the teacher Gemma is an experienced teacher in this field who constantly initiated children to put ideas in writing. I can see my daughter breakdown the barrier of fears of writing. She hardly missed any writing task in chat box. I highly recommend it to all kids in year 5 and 6.

It was a hard slog for our boy, but Teachitright and Sara Holloway persevered and the result ….. one happy chappie (and the parents are pretty chuffed too).

Well planned and resourced 11+ programme. Excellent teaching, good communication and most importantly, enjoyable for my son! Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

If you are considering 11+ tuition for your child, teach it right provide an excellent service.
The team are highly organised and informative. Chris Pearse does a brilliant job of keeping the parents engaged on the curriculum and the tutors do an equally great job of keeping the children happy and motivated.
The children are provided with a wealth of text books and materials. The homework is consistent in terms of expectations and timings to manage. Online support also provided at set times in the week for those children who need further support outside of the weekly lessons. If you want a reliable and seamless 11+ approach to tutoring look no further than Teach it right.

Highly recommend TeachitRight. My daughter passed both her Bucks and Slough consortium exams. She started her sessions at the beginning of year 5. Sukhpreet was beyond amazing who kept me informed throughout the year with my daughter’s progress. The homework was just about right, not overloaded like other tuition centres. All resources were covered by TeachitRight and the token reward system they had for the children made it fun learning!

We had a great experience with Teachitright Gerrads cross centre. The teachers really care for the children and always keep them motivated.
The material is of good standard and there are numerous sessions for parents on various 11+subjects which I found quite useful.
Overall, highly recommend Teachitright.

Teachitright has been truly fantastic. The tutors are professional, have an excellent understanding of the assessment criteria and support and motivate the children in the weekly sessions to progress. The materials and resources are purposeful to meet individual student needs. The team are very accommodating at providing extra support when needed. We would highly recommend the provision.

I would highly recommend Teachitright, fairly due to the fact that teachers are extremely amazing.
My daughter started teach it right in January 2024, but still her teacher made sure she catch up with all the material and topics she couldn’t cover the whole term worth work due to the late start.
Additionally, mock tests at Teachitright were very good and helpful and provided a clear insight in required areas to improve for my daughter.
Compare to other tuition centres the work for the children was divided evenly so it wasn’t too much pressure on children.
And I think the organiser Chris Pearse, who was always a phone call away to ask any question. All material, parent workshops and extra classes were organised by him were really great.
