Wrong dimensions TWICE
Ordered a battery for my landrover discovery. Checked every measurement and dimension as recommended on the site. Battery arrived. 15mm short in height.
Website said phone lines open until 7pm. Called and lined closed at 5. Used instant messaging option and got someone. 6pm on a Thursday. Said they would despatch a battery for next day delivery.
Battery arrived Monday and the took away old one……..Same battery same size same issue.
Used to be good; not anymore
Used to be my go to company for batteries but now can’t even get to order one. Stock levels are low to non-existent, website only allows one or two searches before you’ve reach your limit for the day (what is that about?).
Much better companies around these days.
Amazingly fast delivery
I had a little trouble with the website initially, triggered I think by having 2 tabs open on the site, but I eventually placed my order for a car battery around 1830 on Thursday evening. I was amazed when DPD delivered it around 0930 the following morning! Because of this I didn't need to cancel my travel plans for the weekend. I paid just under £100 including delivery for a branded (Exide) battery, whereas the only equivalent offered by Halfords was an own-brand one costing £176.
Rubbish service. Purchased a Car Battery from Tanya…
Purchased a Car Battery from Tanya batteries for next day delivery who have delivered to address in my online account. They claimed for some reason the order did not have full address. Full address was entered during purchase and I’m sure if no delivery address was entered their system wouldn’t allow a delivery order. DX have delivered to my address multiple times yet on this occasion asked for further delivery details and to contact. DX had details along with name, postcode and number of business. The driver was 50 mtrs away from the address then tracking goes off. They provided a telephone number which sends you around in circles. A chat that is useless and sends you around in circles and did not understand a single sentence you typed.
Goods now refunded and my business will go to a company that doesn’t use DX.

I have always used Tanya batteries but its all gone wrong...
They are using DX couriers who are on the same level of uselessness as Evri and theres a very good chance your battery wont turn up.
Do yourself a favour and order from someone who uses a better courier.
Note to Tanya... next time your business decisions have left a customer in the **** do something about it - next day them a replacement by another courier and save their *** that way you will get a repeat customer and a glowing review instead of this.
Poor Customer Service
Received the wrong battery, trying to sort out a replacement/ refund took multiple phone calls and emails. There was never an apology and no sense of assistance from after sales team, made to feel like I was bothering them.
Tanya Batteries??
I believe that Tanya Batteries either now own or is a partner of The Battery Group. My 2.5 yr Tanya supplied battery failed and being a disabled driver I immediately ordered a new battery from another company The Battery Group.It arrived quickly but on opening the box realised right away that this was not as advertised for my Honda Insight 2012. The terminals where opposite and too large.I emailed the company and was told that a courier would collect in 3,-4 days.I did some checks on the internet and found that The Battery Group is permanently closed, so still waiting for collection and refund.I then contacted the original supplier of my old battery and after a long winded struggle they sent me a replacement battery. This arrived quickly in exactly the same packing as The Battery Group supplied.?? Taking this up with PayPal was a waste of time as they found that The Battery Group did the correct thing???.So I have a brand new incorrect battery that cannot fit.
Mazda bongo
Ordered a battery for my mazda bongo on Saturday afternoon about 13:30. I must admit my only reason for using Tanya was the van already had a battery supplied by Tanya installed so i just brought the same make so i knew it would fit/work. Battery arrived by 16:30 the on Monday. Great website easy to use. Will 100% be coming here for all my battery needs.
Avoid at all cost
Price and delivery great. Unfortunately guarantee was useless. Bought the battery an withing the guarantee time the battery failed. Diagnostic machine showed faulty battery. I sent battery back at my cost for them to firstly say it was never delivered, so rang them up an they said it had been delivered an tested at zero volts, they said a faulty battery at point of manufacture, then to be told it's my mis use of it that has invalidated the guarantee. Now they're ignoring all correspondence.
Will NEVER use them again. Over the last few years I have purchased between 6 an 7 batteries.
Guarantee is a joke like the customer service team
Delivery and price fine… but BEWARE their guarantee is not worth the print! Less than 1 year old heavy duty battery bought to run an electric fence small circuit. Failed to charge. You need to return at your cost )refunded if faulty but whom knows🤷🏼♀️) now been told it was so dead (charged 6 weeks ago!) that it’s melted the inside and warranty null and void! Customer service is a joke, copy and paste textbooks to reply, don’t read email threads, latest reply states as I’ve only charged it in 3 times in 3 years that’s the problem? No the problem is you don’t read the emails.. the battery is less than 1 year old and only runs a small electric fence circuit! It was charged to 75% 6 weeks ago and now so dead it doesn’t charge! Battery failure! as nothings changed on my circuit. Now I’m using an old car battery (should have saved my £90 and done that anyway) which 3 weeks ago was charged to 75% and checked 2 days ago and surprise surprise.. still at 75% charge! And you seriously think it’s my care that’s the issue?? So do yourself a favour, pay £10-£20 more and get from Halfords! At least you can take it back and see what they’re doing and argue the point! This mob hide behind textbooks and emails!
Poor delivery, slow refund even though item never delivered to me
The company are happy to take your ~£10 for Saturday delivery, but they use a courier who appears unable to make this happen, and then lies about why they could not.
Other reviews here have similar stories - I just wish I'd checked before ordering.
I ordered yesterday and paid for Saturday delivery. Got up this morning to a mail that said delivery would be between 10 and 12ish. I made sure I was listening for the door and just after 11 got a message saying they'd been unable to deliver, and had left a calling card. There was no calling card, and neither of the 2 cameras facing my door show any activity on my property.
I contacted Tanya Batteries to ask them to cancel the order, and paid for a taxi to go and collect a new battery because I need my car. The vendor has said they'll refund my purchase, but only after they get it back from their courier.
So to recap:
1. They use a courier who frequently fails to meet the obligations that they've made to their customers
2. When their chosen courier fails, they hold onto your money until the courier gets the product back to them (even though it's never been in my possession).

Bought a pair of Bosch wiper blades. 40% less costly than Halfords and arrived with a few days. Perfect.
Second purchase
Second purchase, car battery varta still going strong. Bike battery ordered yesterday at collection point via yodel Saturday morning- less than 24hrs. That was standard delivery. Good price too

Faulty battery less than a year old been test by AA twice and not holding charge this company also block you and will not honour warranty even when I have report from AA that battery is faulty they say they want battery back to test it but will still not refund you so be warned

If I could give zero I would, I wish I had read the reviews before buying a battery for my paddock, they're refusing to honour the 2yr guarantee and I bought it less than 4months ago, asking me to check it with a volt meter that I would have to buy, I have a fence tester and even though fully charged doesn't electrify more than a few feet of wire, bought a brand new energiser thinking that was the problem but it isnt, definitely the battery after reading the review that had their one tested I'm glad I didn't waste my money buying one, i asked for a replacement first but now want a refund, shocking customer service, they have basically ripped off a pensioner and I'm going to citizen advice as it's the principle, according to consumers rights I'm due a refund, return or repair, if I could change my eBay feedback I would
Horrendous company with awful warranty provisions..avoid mo
I attempted to return a very expensive bosch battery under the 5 year warranty as it had failed at 18 months use..I had the battery checked by 2 independent battery specialists who both informed me the battery was malfunctioning and required replacement..I contacted Tanya who encouraged me to use their return service for 20 pounds and will be refunded once battery collected by their courier and checked..I waited in on four separate days for them to collect as promised, but each time never arrived..they then informed me that the courier informed them I was not in on all occasions plus the courier sent me an email saying battery collected!..
Despite having five cameras on my property plus a ring doorbell and me being outside in the garden all day, they were insistent..despite contacting Tanya continually and promising collection after collection, still not happened and today at 3.30 pm looking very doubtful also..small claims tomorrow if another failure..avoid at all costs

Terrible warranty service
I wish that I had read some of the warranty related reviews before I purchased a battery from Tanya Batteries. It cost over £100, came with a 5 year warranty and after less than 2 years stopped holding its charge. The car has less than 10,000 miles, it is regularly serviced and it is in perfect working order. Tanya Batteries suggest that "external factors" caused the discharge and if the battery holds 9V it is "considered healthy" even though they accept that below 12v will not start a larger vehicle. They obviously cannot prove any such external factors and nor can 9v be considered acceptable for a 12V battery sold with a 5 year warranty. I will commence a formal claim process and never use them again. I advise anyone to avoid Tanya Batteries and buy locally from a reputable trader.
