I’ve been with this provider for two years and the broadband has never worked properly Over the last two months they contacted me three separate times to renew my contract and each time I clearly said no and asked them to terminate it
My contract was a one year agreement so after the last call when I was told everything would be closed I believed the matter was finally resolved once and for all
After that I received no confirmation in writing but I was assured over the phone that my account would be closed I kept my modem because I believed I might still need to return it
I recently moved house and since I had not been informed that I needed to return the modem I disposed of it just two days ago
Now a month after that call I have received an email saying my contract is still active and that I owe more than my usual monthly payment I had to spend 40 minutes on the phone trying to sort it out only to be told I still need to pay
The most frustrating part During that same call they told me if I do not return the modem they will charge me 75 pounds even though I was previously told everything was closed and I was never informed earlier that it needed to be returned
This has been an exhausting and incredibly frustrating experience I just want to end this service and not hear from them again I would strongly recommend avoiding this provider there are far better broadband options out there
Do not expect any help when there is a problem
Having been a customer ever since Talk Talk it took over AOL,s broadband service I was extremely disappointed with the response when I lost access to the internet. Hours on the phone to call handling staff repeating the same security questions over and over, going through the same procedures time after time, rebooting the router, trying an Ethernet cable ect, 2 engineer visits, promised return calls not being made, 30 + text messages... still no internet.. the icing on the cake was receiving a text saying my problem had been resolved 36 hours after I had cancelled my contract and returned the router!

I am absolutely disgusted with the Agents performance at Talk Talk.
I put an order in on 4th April 26.
I was told by an agent that an engineer will come to the address on 20th April 26. I said this was too far.
The agent said they will call on Monday 5th April 26 to put me through to the order management team for me to prioritise my order.
I received a call from the agent today and was put through to the order management team.
Can you believe after being asked some intrusive personal medical questions I was told my order couldn't be located on the system.
You would think they would try locate my order first then proceed with questions.
I put a complaint in and was told I was sent £10 to my account. What account I don't have an account.
Today I will look for an efficient service provider who employ empathy as a vital skill to have.
You have been warned.
Talk Talk do not know what they are Talking about the service is poor and unsatisfactory.

What can you say cant give zero all day yesterday trying to sort out a call back with talk talk agreed to be in situ at my flat which is an Air bnb in order to take my laptop with me to get help with the problem of no Wifi !! agreed that a representative of the tech team would help me between 10 am and 3pm before my Air bnb guests came in stayed as was cleaning waiting from 10am no call back left at 3.15pm driving back to my place then they called . From 3.15 pm tried to organise another call back couldnt get through wasted time not even talking to a human via their chat facility joke this was on their 0800 no i am actually on there as a priority as i have Bipolar Disorder and other problems as a result my AIR BNB guests left and it cost me £300 in loses if this problem does not get rectified i have other guest coming in on 8th April that will be another £300 lost ! i am in severe debt due to a cowboy builder who defrauded me of over £100 k for a small extension due to my mental health issues . will never see this money £600 , Thank you soo much bloody Talk talk migrated to them thought shell were bad enough better than them God knows . We Had fibre broadband installed 31/03/26.It was a very good experience all round..Professional clean..and worked brilliantly when completed.Mitchell the man who installed it was so helpful.advised the best place to have it, answered all our quiries,even tuned in our appliances for us..meant such a lot us being 80yrs.

Been trying to get an engineer since December 2025. TT only interested in selling 'a better package' than addressing our problem. To talk to custoner service takes approx 90 mins to get anywhere.
Simply THE worst telecommunicstion company, who unfortunnately are tge only ones who still offer landlines to those with medical needs.

Never again will I use Talk Talk. I have been a customer for 10+ years, 2 weeks ago my router stopped working, they sent an engineer out, they replaced the router, and now 2 weeks later the router is broken! I had an engineer visit today, he confirmed that router was at fault, I get an email telling me that the fault was fixed even thou I have had no internet for 4 days and the problem was not resolved, I have just spent another hour on the phone speaking to the tech department, to be told I have to wait 3 days for someone to call me before they would even consider a new router, so in the last 4 weeks I will be without a service for nearly 2 weeks, and I am paying for that service ! Ridiculous. and now I have to pay £100 to leave so I can go to another service provided, I will gladly pay that to get away from them....I didn't even want to give them 1 Star, do yourself a favour and don't waste your time with them. clearly they do not value customer loyalty. I am fuming, I need my internet for work, so not only am I paying for a service I am not getting, I am not able to work either, what an absolute Joke !
Waking Nightmare
Dealing with Talk Talk is a numbing, bewildering tour of hell.
Like so many other sufferers on this page, I could write reams. Their tales of woe make depressing reading, though I wish I'd seen them earlier.
To keep it brief, I will give you some highlights. Please, read just a little further before entering into a contract with Talk Talk - though I suspect if you're here it might already be too late.
The short version - here goes.
For eight days my internet connection dropped out. Eight times they told me they'd fixed it, and eight times it broke again. Not great, but that's not the worst bit.
On day five they told me an engineer would come to my house. They threatened me with a £75 fine if I was not in. So I waited in all morning. No engineer came.
So I went online via my phone to their support chat. I was promised the engineer would appear that afternoon. But again, no one came.
Then, incredibly, Talk Talk sent me a text saying 'we hope that your recent visit from an engineer has resolved the issue'. There had been no engineer and I had no internet connection when this text arrived.
So I went back online, and after an agonising half hour (really) was told the issue would be passed to the 'Complaints Team' who would certainly contact me 'as soon as possible'.
Has any one from the Complaints Team been in touch? One guess.
There's much more, but that's a flavour. So be warned.
Trust Pilot has a feature where you can check the feedback given to lots of ISPs. Worth a look, because there are many who are much, much better than Talk Talk.

Will Only Speak With The Account Holder.
Had to speak with Talk Talk today due to my sister's outstanding bill. She has a disability and I have power of attorney over her affairs. Used their chat facility and phone them only for them to say they need to speak to the account holder to get permission. I am sure I told them this. My sister has limited speech problems and cannot really understand anyone in authority over the phone but they still insist they want to speak with her. They need to get things sorted with dealing with disabled and vulnerable customers. I got her transferred to these people from BT because her bills were extortionate with BT but like everywhere else including here the bills just rise. She needs the phone to get in contact with me she has a mobile phone but seldom uses it preferring a landline.

I have unfortunately inherited TalkTalk via takeover. I didn’t choose them and wouldn’t. My experience with them has been and is shocking. How they get away with such bad service, I certainly do not know!

Talk your scripts, but don’t do the walk.
I’ve had no internet since February 16th.
For weeks you’ve gaslit me on getting it fixed.
But all you’ve given me are lies and tricks.
I’ve lost track the amount of times you’ve said my new router is in the post.
Every time I call you deliberately give me false hope.
“3 to 5 working days”, you always say.
“We are sending it to you, it’s definitely on its way.”
Five days later (and several of these).
NOT A SAUSAGE!
I stayed in on the mornings, holding myself hostage.
Waiting for the postman to delivery my connection to the World Wide Web.
But all I got was no router, no explanation or apology instead.
I’m constantly having to call you up, to find out what is going on and
why Talk Talk are incapable and forever getting things wrong.
Your phone agents may as well be A.I.
Why can’t they communicate like humans?
I don’t understand why.
Reciting silly scripts, that make no sense.
They’re incapable of thinking and dealing with the present tense.
Wasting time each call having to start from the beginning.
‘Company of the Year’ you will definitely NOT be winning!
Being passed from one department to the next.
Asking me the exact same questions.
Is this a test?
Going round in circles like past the parcel.
Accept the only prize at the end is a clown cartel.
Booking an engineer is like dialing a wish.
I should be getting the £75
For putting up with their pretending to come ish!

Compensation and a proper apology is what I require from you.

Although the way you do business is definitely not funny!
You waste customers’ time, energy and money.
Whoever owns TalkTalk, doesn’t give a rat’s.

Folks, if TalkTalk are giving you the runaround, go straight to Ofcom. You will get the advice you need to get things resolved.
Where is the customer service?
I will keep this brief but the story is huge. The most difficult company to talk to despite their name. I was without broadband for 12 days in Nov/Dec 2025. A large part of village was without due to a major fault down to National Grid and Open Reach. I contacted this my provider, many times and didn't manage to talk to a real person. They then refused to pay compensation and said they were not informed of the outage. On the recommendation of Ofcom I took the case to CEDR, the arbitration scheme, and the compensation has been paid. I had to provide phone records and emails as proof that they did know. I can't wait for June to arrive when I can switch provider. I was transferred to TalkTalk by my former broadband provider Shell. This is the second problem I've had since moving over to them. It is impossible to speak to a human being. Never give up with this company to get service. TalkTalk please don't bother answering this with your usual banal offerings. Nothing changes.
Unbelievably Terrible
Terrible. Get internet dropouts all the time & this last few weeks it's been off as much as on. For years I've put up with their mediocre service being too lazy to change but now it's untenable. When I called via phone their automatic response to my issue of "no internet" was to go online & follow their steps. Utterly useless & I will be changing my provider on Monday.
DISGRACEFUL SERVICE IN ALL ASPECTS - AVOID
I complained earlier this year that the broadband service was at times very slow (9mps) and sometimes non-existent. The usual line test was performed and found to be ok. Yes, may be now, but not last night. We will investigate - nothing happened. I intimated that I was considering terminating the contract. They sent a letter dated Feb 2nd asking me to call 0345 172 0122 to get a better deal. I don't want a better deal - I want better service. Tried the number - it is out of service.
The router stopped working last week. Fortunately I have my own spare. I spent two hours yesterday with webchat and phone to achieve absolutely nothing. They have not decided whether to send a replacement or an engineer. When I was asked for the fourth time to be patient whilst they did a line test I lost my patience, gave him a firm dressing down and terminated the call. In the meantime, I'm paying £41 monthly for a service using my own equipment!
This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT SIGN UP TO TALKTALK!!!
I haven't been able to access my bills…
I haven't been able to access my bills online for months. Made a complaint and despite being assured it will be sorted it has not. I think there must be something they cannot fix but just string you along.
Quite appalling customer service
Quite appalling customer service! Just spent approx 2 hours via ' chat' whereupon I was handed over three times across 4 different contacts ( one being a bot!)
My apparently simple ( to me!) query of upgrading from a data- only to VOIP package - and wanting to know costs and steps involved - seemed to beyond the knowledge of all involved! I was repeatedly sent ' verification codes' to quote and asked for all the SAME INFO again and again - until finally I was advised that a sales interface ' would be in contact'! What an utter waste of 2 hours! Been put off upgrade altogether!
