I always get the best service from the System76 team. The laptops they build have their dedication and loyalty built with them.

I have been a System76 customer for 4 years now and own 4 of their systems. I also have no problem recommending them and supporting them.

finally able to work in my office in silence.

The last desktop computer I purchased was a System 76 Wild Dog Pro from 2017 and from the onset I was extremely disappointed with the horrific noise the fans put out when I was doing nothing on it. So I had my concerns about buying the Thelio. But I was quite pleased to discover that my new Thelio made no noticeable noise in its quiescent state. After putting up with the horrible noise from the previous System 76 desktop for all these years it is a pure joy to be able to work in my office in something approaching silence. I am a computational physicist so at some point I'm going to test out the GPU and the computational abilities of the Thelio but by far the most important thing about any computer for me is the noise it puts out and so far I am quite happy with the Thelio.

System 76 makes great stuff!

System 76's selection of hardware is 'right-on' and exceeds expectations. Kudos for that! Everything works as expected. Since I am a long-time Linux user (This is my 5th Sys76 purchase) I was not aghast at no documentation or links to more info. (No quick start-up sheet.) I found what I needed to know from on-line, hardware component spec-info. I didn't care for POP-OS but pleased when I installed my fav OS that no additional drivers were necessary. I recommend System 76 to all... they make great stuff!

Powerful and compact Linux computer for…

Powerful and compact Linux computer for very fair price.
I was disappointed by lack of updated neovim in pop-os and by the fact that the HD had "microsoft basic data" partition.
The reply by system76 is not accurate. the 2 first partitions (UEFI and recovery) are vfat, not ext4.

Hello! We appreciate the feedback. The boot (ESP) and recovery partition both use the FAT32 file system to support boot via UEFI. EXT4 is the default OS file system in Pop!OS with encryption being the default install path. There is nothing installed by Microsoft on the computer. You can also use the neovim flatpak for an up to date version.

Shipping gotcha

I live about 35 miles from the Denver facility which is often refereed to as 'The Factory'. The UPS hub in Commerce City is about 7.5 miles from 'The Factory'. I receive UPS packages from all over the country and when it arrives in Commerce City I receive the package the next day. Ergo, I opted for the least expensive shipping method. Imagine my surprise when I found that the package had shipped and would take about a week to get to me from 'The Factory' in California. Over night service was only an additional $70 or so. An extra 1%. Negligible on a $3800 order. Perhaps at checkout you might want to mention where the product actually SHIPS from. Just a thought.

Defective RAM slot, slow service

so I bought this Lemur pro with extra ram. About 18 months after purchase, it was running slowly. Turns out the second ram was not recognized. Cost $800 and 3 weeks.

Switched to System76 wiht POP! after 30 years of MS!

I have been using my System76 Pangolin (32GB of RAM) for a bit over a week now and have been extremely happy with the experience. Due to the direction MS has gone I was ready to make a big change in my computing experience. After doing some homework I was most impressed with System76's right to repair and attention to privacy. I wasn't very sure what I would encounter with POP! OS going into it, but it has exceeded my expectations. The computer itself is plenty fast enough for what I have thrown at it (not a gamer, but do like to be able to edit video). Build quality seems totally solid. And the shopping experience was right on the money. Very happy with my decision and System76.

Buying First System76 Experience

I was able to use the chat option to send questions and got conscientious answers. It was very difficult for me to ask other major brands questions. As someone new to system76 and linux, I think I would have felt more comfortable if I knew there was a clear possibility of Windows 11 compatibility or established procedures for enabling that. I think another thing that would have helped is understanding the consequences of Intel Arc vs. Nvidia or the different processor options.

Outstanding from system76.

Nice integration of pop os with hardware. Prompt delivery.
Clear specs.
Is there any way you could eliminate the need for a password on a computer that is only used by myself? Or make is easier to eliminate spam on a browser?
This is the third computer from system 76 and I have good experience with all. My next will be system 76 again.

refurb Pangolin 14th gen

I purchased a refurbished Pangolin 14th Gen. The touchpad didn't work initially. I found the technical docs for the model, which showed the location of the touchpad connector on the motherboard. I just pushed the connector to make sure it was seated properly in the header, restarted the laptop, and voilá, the touchpad now works. Everything else seems to be working fine, although I haven't yet had a chance to try the webcam.

Update: Issue could not be fixed, returned product. No replacements available. System76 issued a partial refund, charging me for various shipping fees related to the defective product! I asked for a full refund and never heard back. Not a great experience.
