I just love the little guys beating up the big guys that are pulling the hood's over peoples eyes. I've been a developer in the Windows world since 2000. Started in the Novel Networking era but switched to the M$oft world cuz that's where the money's at. Always dabbled in the linux world compiling the OS for hours in the old days and using all kinds of open software like Apache, MySql, Perl, Php,etc. I recently just got tired of being spied on and being nothing but a data point. So I took the leap a couple months ago with a System76 WS with Pop Os! and Cosmic. I trade options so had some issues getting the software working that I needed but AI helped me with all of it.
Gotta love/hate AI. If people figure out how much M$oft and others are tracking and categorizing them, maybe they will make the switch. It's really not a big deal and companies like System76 make it as easy as is possible. Love my new laptop.... :-)

Great computer and I really like Pop OS. My only tiny complaint is that I would have preferred the Meerkat to have been padded a little better inside of its packaging. Everything was fine when it got here but as an ex-Apple user I was accustomed to much tighter packaging.

Love it - best of the non-linear, non-split keyboards

The keyboard is very solid, rugged, and even heavy. Tech support responded promptly by email.

The one thing I wish were better is the way the cord attaches. It plugs into the middle of the back where it's subject to damage from getting pushed back in a keyboard drawer, or into a laptop on a desk. I've used Matias keyboards and they have the same problem. It's usually the connector in the keyboard that breaks. I'll probably tape some blocks onto the keyboard for protection. What would be better is to have the cord permanently attached and come out through a rubber grommet. It could have a molex or similar connector inside the keyboard for easy replacement.

These laptops are amazing. My team loves them!

I have been using the Launch Heavy keyboard for a few days now. I got the Kailh brown switches and I love the sound and the tactile feel. The keyboard feels very solid.

I thought the LEDs were too dim at first (compared to my last non-System76 keyboard), but I have come around to enjoying the more subdued lighting.

My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a wrist rest. Given its non-standard width, it's hard to find one that exactly fits. For the price, adding a magnetic, sloped wrist rest doesn't seem like too much to ask.

Overall, this is a great keyboard and I have been enjoying typing with it!

All excellent, one oversight on my part was to select the pop os vs Ubuntu. Not a fan of the pop os, oversight on my part. I should have researched on pop os delta from Ubuntu. I'm more comfortable with Ubuntu.

all good except for it's annoying that the Darter Pro 11 having the power usb's and power connection on the right side of the computer, for right-handed users.

Great little server. Successfully hosting XRDP over Guacamole + Tomcat10 + Nginx + Fail2ban, a Foundry VTT server for me, a Minecraft server for my kid, a couple of static websites, a node js form, and all with automated Let's Encrypt SSL renewals via Certbot, automated bare metal back-ups through ReaR, and automated weekly patching. Also running Cockpit for system stats and dashboard.

System76 customer/tech support has always been outstanding. Their people actually know something about their machines and how to diagnose and repair them! And, of course, they are friendly and helpful. Oh, and no stupid, useless "AI assistants" to deal with. All-in-all, the best customer support I've dealt with in decades.

I was in need for a new laptop and found system76 through research about Linux computers. I was tired of windows and didn't want to deal with Microsoft's BS anymore. Also, not an apple guy either. Reading all the info and watching a review video on their website made me curious about Linux and decided, lets do it.I received my Lemur Pro and was impressed with how little it weighed compared to my Samsung of the same size. I knew nothing about Linux and had a few trail and errors while figuring out the system. I even had to reboot it once due to a program error I put in. I've had my laptop for about two weeks now and absolutely love it. Once you get the hang of Linux, the differences are very slight compared to windows. If you're looking for a new laptop/computer, want to switch from windows or Apple, I would encourage you to order a System76. You won't regret it.
