SWID Perfumery is a perfume shop in Paterson, New Jersey, where you can make your own custom perfume or shop ready-made scents in store and online. At our store on Main Street, you tell us the scents you love (and the ones you don't), smell the testers from our fragrance oil collection, and our team blends your perfume right in front of you. Every custom perfume is 30% perfume oil, comes in 30, 50, 60 or 100 ml, and starts at $45 for 30 ml. Engraving a name, nickname or short phrase on the bottle is always free, and the whole visit takes about 20-30 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome, no appointment needed. Since opening in March 2026, we've made more than 5,000 custom perfumes. Our team learned blending from a family member who worked in perfumery in Syria and Dubai, and we keep every customer's blend on file so reordering is easy. We also carry Arabian perfumes, perfume oils, body milk and gifts, and we can build the closest match to a perfume that's been discontinued. For celebrations, we host birthday parties, couples' perfume-making dates, bridal showers and corporate groups for up to 24 guests, and the SWID Mobile Perfume Bar can come to your wedding or event. I had an absolutely amazing experience at this perfumery! From the personalized service to the quality of the recommendations, everything exceeded my expectations. A special shoutout to Rawan, who assisted me during my visit and truly made the experience memorable!
Rawan was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire process. She took the time to ask what fragrances I normally wear so she could better understand my preferences, especially since I was looking for something different for my customization. Rather than simply recommending random fragrances, she thoughtfully selected scents for me to try based on what she learned about my taste. Honestly, the fragrances she recommended were exactly the kind of scents I could see myself wearing!
What really stood out to me was her ability to listen, understand what I was looking for, and use her expertise to recommend something that felt personalized to me. Her attention to detail and genuine effort to help made all the difference. It’s one thing to have an associate help you make a purchase, but it’s another to have someone who genuinely understands their products and makes you feel confident and excited about your choice.
Rawan is a wonderful representation of what exceptional customer service should look like. I hope her manager recognizes the great work she’s doing because employees like her make a lasting impression and give customers a reason to return.
