The best part of the cruise has to be its wonderful staff. Each and every one of these hard working people were attentive but not over bearing. They provided excellent service, friendly chat and engagement and always had a smile on their faces, even though I'm sure they had bad days like all of us. They are a credit to the company and should all be rewarded. Embarkation was well organised and efficient allowing my wife and I to board within 20 minutes. Disembarkation was a little slower in Taiwan (took an hour), still not bad. There seemed to be some misunderstanding with the Taiwanese officials and Norwegian as The officials stated to us, (while in the queue), they could have had more officers on duty but Norwegian declined their offer???? The worse thing on the cruise has to be its WIFI package. There should be an option to do without it as we and many of the guests I spoke with found it almost useless with most guests opting to use their own network service packages. This was frustrating when trying to complete tourist visits forms for Taiwan. Most opted to complete application while in Dock. The ports of call were wonderful around Japan as all had rail / metro station within walking distance to allow independent travellers explore. Particularly as the cost of excursions from the cruise were extortionate. almost $300 each for some. It would have been nice to have stayed overnight in Osaka area but we did in Hong Kong which was excellent. The plus was we stopped in 7 cities, which was excellent for a first time visitor to Japan / Hong Kong / Taiwan. whetting our appetite to return. The ship was mid size which was perfect, meaning there was always room to find a quite place to enjoy a snack or drink. Dining options were good in speciality restaurants though the main restaurant we did find some food items were repeated every day, but that suits many people and probably set for children. Entertainment was ok but felt repetitious, (I miss the big production shows that have disappeared since covid) However, there were some excellent speciality acts which were well received by all. A special mention for the Production (wild cards), it was excellent on the last night of the cruise. All the entertainers worked their socks off throughout the cruise and deserve great praise for their hard work. We enjoyed our time on this cruise ship and would recommend it to our friends.
