Our recent trip to Norway was very well organised and immensely enjoyable. The trip involved flights, train and bus, and two cruises (one short on a fjord, one 12 days up and down the length of the Norwegian coast).
It was well planned and a lot of knowledge and thought had gone into itinerary. Ample background information suggestions, and tips were very useful.
Highly recommended.

We wanted to do the Norwegian Coastal Express but were unsure which company to use and then we saw an article about the options by Suitcase Travel and so we contacted them. They were extremely helpful and clearly knowledgeable about the two companies and the cruise and provided excellent advice. We were very impressed and so booked the flights, buses, hotels and trip (Havila) with them. Everything went precisely to plan and we had a fantastic holiday with calm seas, lovely weather and we got to see the Northern Lights. Many thanks.

We contacted Suitcase Travel as we were keen to go on the Coastal Express but were unsure about which company to use and the practicalities of the holiday. Mike was so helpful and knowledgeable about the differences between Hurtigruten and Havila, the experience which each would be likely to offer, and the best times of year for us to travel. Mike and his team arranged flights, taxis, buses and hotels and advised on which cabins would be best. As a result we had an absolutely fabulous holiday (with Havila), glorious weather, and calm seas. Than you so much.

Booked with Mike and co to do the Hurtigruten Fjords cruise. Nothing was a problem for them, we got quotes and asked if it could be tweaked a bit and it was, Mike knew all about the cruise and the ships so could advise us on everything from flights to everything on board the ship, excursions and everything inbetween. Always at the end of a phone or in our case an email when we were in Bergin. Would highly recommend Suitcase travel and will contact them for any other trips we’re planning! Give them a try you won’t be disappointed!!

We wanted to visit Norway and to combine train journeys and a trip on the Havila post boat.As this involved a number of parts we decided that it was best to use a specialist to co-ordinate and arrange and so we approached Suitcase Travel. Right from the first contact we found the team friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. All flights,trains,boats and hotels etc were arranged for us and the whole trip worked perfectly. Altogether a great experience.

Our Bergen to Kirkenes trip with Havila went as smoothly as the sea that week which meant almost everything went to plan and we could not fault the organisation. There were a couple of minor issues with the information from Havila but overall we were very satisfied with the service we received from Penny and Lyn, keeping us updated and answering our questions. I would heartily recommend them to anyone considering a similar trip.

Mike and the team organised our trip with utmost care and attention to detail. Having explained what I and 5 family members were looking for he explained the various options. We didn't want a big liner and the choice of Havila was bang on.
All the tickets, timings and complete itinerary were sent with adequate, clear hints or instructions. As a result of their experience and professional approach we had a great 9 day trip, including a stopover in Oslo which is a fascinating city. We contacted Suitcase Travel because we were considering a Norwegian Coastal Cruise and found Mike's excellent comparison of Havila and Hurtigruten the Suitcase website. Mike was very helpful on the phone and responsive by email and, at fairly short notice, made all the arrangements for us to take the round trip on Havila in August 2025.
All their arrangements worked perfectly, the flights, taxi transfers to and from Bergen airport, the hotel in central Bergen and the cruise itself.
The Havila ships' cabins and public areas are well designed and comfortable. The "small dish" food concept was new to us and worked really well.
We loved the silent progress through fjords under electric power.

The weather could have been better but despite that we thoroughly enjoyed the trip, thanks to Suitcase Travel.

We came across Suitcase Travel when reading their blog comparing Hurtigruten and Havila ships for Norwegian fjord cruises. We had never done a cruise before and didn’t fancy the huge cruise liner ships with thousands of people but wanted to see the fjords.
