It never occurred to me to check reviews about this company before making a purchase as I'd used them several times before and had been delighted but what a different story now! Placed an order for delivery in April, got the email confirming the order and then nothing. No delivery, no reply to emails, no reply to telephone calls, the same story as so many other reviewers. I assume they've gone bust and are relying on fraudulent "sales" to give James (the owner) an income stream. Out of the blue I received a generic email promising a refund and giving several reasons for not fulfilling orders, IT problems, delivery problems and most ironically fraud at Christmas. To use fraud as an excuse to then defraud customers is indefensible!!

My order was cancelled via a strange email from the owners saying they were closing down and reopening in a few weeks. Since that cancellation message I have had FIVE marketing emails with offers, including on the products that had been cancelled a day earlier. Lots of mixed messages coming from them!

I strongly advise caution when dealing with Stilton Butchers. I placed an order and paid in February 2026; it is now May 2026 and I have still not received either the goods or a refund. Despite numerous attempts to contact the company, communication has been extremely difficult. The owner, James, phoned me once about a month ago and assured me the issue would be resolved, but nothing has happened since.
The email address provided by the company does not appear to be valid, and there is no reliable way to reach them regarding missing orders or refunds. Their ordering page remains active, yet customers are left without updates, products, or reimbursement.
Based on my experience, I would urge potential customers to be very careful. The pattern of excuses and lack of follow‑through is deeply concerning, and it is unacceptable that people are left out of pocket with no resolution!

Ordered Cowboy Steaks for delivery early last month, received an email with a revised delivery date for a week later. They have taken payment but do not respond to messages or emails. Avoid at all cost.

After multiple attempts to resolve non-delivery from my January order through emails, telephone calls, forms sent from Stilton butchers themselves to apparently resolve the backlog of unfulfilled orders, I finally ended up going through my bank to dispute the payment that way and have now finally received my money back. I know I would still be waiting if I had not taken this route. I’m so disappointed to see this company is still ‘trading’. I don’t know how this could be considered anything other than fraud at this point given this pattern has been going on since last year. There is just no excuse to continue to take people’s hard earned money when orders cannot even be resolved for prior customers. It’s incredibly dishonest. Very sad to see the downfall of this company but I will never return after the total lack of integrity that has been evidenced. I hope no one else falls victim to this.

I wish I could give a negative score. In addition to the problems I experienced, including non answered WhatsApp messages since 6 March (24 hour response clearly has a different meaning to them), I opened the beef they did manage to supply which I froze on delivery, to find it was sour. This is clearly its state when packed. Not only is there the loss of my finance, but also the sale of unfit goods. Please be very wary of what ordering from this Company means.

I have ordered from Stilton Butchers for years. They have never been great on delivery but the quality of the meat sort of made up for that.
However my last order just before New Year took nearly a month to arrive, and when it did it was missing have of the items that I paid for.
Spent a month trying to contact the company on Phone (they never pick up or return your message), Whatsapps (they just ignore the message), or a webform they supplied (they ignored that as well). Finally I initiated a chargeback to fully recover my money.
Never going to order from them again unless I read that have significantly improved.

Dreadful simply dreadful - waiting on two orders since March but nothing - no answer to calls but did get through once and got apologies, the system glitch story, a new date that came and went and no more telephone answering nor e mails just broken promises

A supposed computer problem,what a excuse? A decent IT engineer would sort it within a day but I am being told two weeks,but at the same time they are still taking orders for the same product?.In business there are penalties for breaking a binding contract which this is as soon as they accept the order and take the money,so compensation should be due,Let's see what is offered and then decide on if it's acceptable or take them to a small claims court for late delivery charges and breach of contract.

They don’t deliver when promised, they take you money and that’s the last you hear from them. Sent over 50 emails none have been replied to, phones been engaged constantly for the last 4 days. Luckily my bank has reimbursed me but advised not to use again as they have had numerous customers which have had the exact same experience.

Last delivery was sent to my home address, when it was ordered to come to my work address, but just left outside my front door.
Latest order placed in February, has still not arrived despite two delivery promises not being kept, a phone call to explain web site issues, and please only contact via whats app, and messages there being totally ignored, a complete shambles, and every day another special offer in my e-mail, deliver outstanding order first please !
