Bait and switch!

I ordered two shirts from this company and like many other people that have written, the advertisement looked really great. I was excited to get my shirts. It did take forever to get them and the package they were in said Jamaica, New York. I just assumed it was a company in New York City area, but like many other customers that have written reviews, this company is straight out of China! That isn’t always a bad thing since I have gotten things that are pretty decent from China. But this company Spencer clothing.com is every bit of sly and misleading. They stay right between the lines of legal but they are completely unethical! The shirts I ordered were horribly tailored. They did not fit me even closely. The customer service reps are constantly changing. I think I’m dealing with one and then another answers as if they are picking up the conversation from the last representative. I told them I would like to return them and get my money back and possibly pick something out from their website at a different time. They basically told me it would be so expensive to ship them back since I would have to send them directly to their facility in China! That is where the deception and absolutely horrible business practice is occurring. It is my own fault for not reading the fine print on return policy but what kind of rotten people are running this company? At this point they have offered me offers to ship something of equal or lesser value and I would just cover the shipping or send me something else discounted. I told them I just want my money back, but I agree with what many people are saying. They NEVER intend on returning your money!! I am probably just going to have to take the loss because I can tell that they will just do whatever they can to wear me down. I get emails sometimes 10 o’clock at night so I know that they are overseas fielding my complaints. Not that they even give a shit whether I buy anything from them or not ever again, but I can tell you, that I would wear nothing but a pair of underwear, before I would ever purchase anything from those rotten scoundrels again! Hopefully enough people read these reviews, so this company goes back to the hell hole they crawled out of! And of course, I will get a generic response of how sorry they are for my experience and the link to their customer service, which will just get me back into the Chinese Maze of Never ending Mirrors!!

Buyer beware this is a typical Chinese company pretending to have a store in NYC for 30 plus years. I have fallen for this scam in the past and got complete garbage from a site claiming to be a NYC store going out of business the garment I received was junk.And of course to return it was more than it cost. I tried to contact Spencer and they kept telling me I had the wrong answer in their puzzle which is almost impossible to screw up unless you can't see. Beware

My experience was actually really good. I am seeing a lot of one stars on here and im sorry to those that are disappointed with their experiences. The shipping was very fast and the quality of the product was exactly how it sounded on the website. Five stars from me!

horrible customer service.

shitty customer service.. contacted them about my package not moving for about a week now, still in the same location that’s it’s been at since the 3rd.. they were little to no help, now i’m stuck wondering if my package is still going to get shipped or if it’s lost in transit and i’m receiving another one.. i ordered it for my friends birthday with 2 weeks in advance and now her birthday is in 5 days and im more than likely not receiving my packing since it’s across the united states.. love the store but online service is trash and needs to be reworked with better customer service employees and better ways of shipment.

Nightmarish customer service and return policy.

Defective Lava Lamp that did not turn on with nightmarish customer service and return policy.
I was asked to upload a video during chat. Even a 3second video wouldn't upload. I emailed the video, they denied that it does not work. Asked for another video.
Don't buy their junk.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered 7 t-shirts to be shipped to my son in the military for Christmas. I ordered them on the 20th. I was offered expedited shipping which would get them there by the 23rd. I had 2 options, $25 off expedited shipping (total for that shipping was $36.74), or 30% off my entire order. I chose the faster shipping so he would get them before Christmas. I got a text on the 21st that my items had shipped. Then on the 23rd, a text saying there was a delay. Tracking info showed the items in the area for delivery. Then I got another delay message. I contacted "support" for a refund on my shipping cost and was told I had to wait until they were actually delivered. For the next 6 days I got "delayed" messages. They were finally delivered on the 29th. Not the 23rd, which is what was advertised for the $36 shipping. Now, I understand that shipping can be delayed around the holidays, but the company should make it right. I spoke with them for 2 hours today! I kept getting the same bs answers over and over. Even after all the evidence I produced, they refused to make it right. They said it needed 3 extra days to "process", even after I showed them the screen shot of them already being shipped. They instead offered me a prepaid shipping label to send the items back. They would rather inconvenience me AGAIN by sending the items back, then giving me the $16 back for shipping or my 30% off for the coupon I had. They offered nothing. I cannot believe that a company would rather go this route to be stubborn and save $16. They DO NOT CARE if their customers are happy and taken care of. Just shameful. No wonder they have 1.5 stars and are going out of business.

Warning!!! Not refunds!!! Hidden returns policy!!!

I should have check this before buying anything from this store. They do not clearly show their return policies and they won’t give you your money back. Either you buy from them or lose your money. Customer service completely useless and rude. I am never buying from this store ever again. It’s basically a rip off.

Dog Sh*t Experience

Would love to leave 0 stars as my experience with their customer service and online ordering process has been atrocious! Only receiving part of my order on time while still waiting on the rest that will obviously arrive late (if it even arrives). When reaching out to customer service, a representative asked me about my order number and stayed silent after giving it to them and explaining my concerns about the order. Never did hear back from them, so I moved on to emailing them in the hopes that maybe I’ll get an answer in a timely manner (not holding my breath).

Discrimination/racism

Discrimination/racism? Both! Today, your staff accused the only two brown kids (mine) in the store of stealing a phone someone lost at your store. Your staff approached my kids and told them, if you have the phone, just give it back so that you don’t get into trouble. This racist B did not have any rights to accuse any one, specially a minor. She’s older, light skin, curly black hair, black glasses wearing a T-shirt. This is inexcusable discriminatory and stereotypical behavior. Shame on you. My oldest child had to tell her that they are not thieves. Shame on you and your staff. I tried calling your store and no answer. You make it impossible to contact you directly. Shame on you and your store. Maybe spend $ training better your staff.

First and last time ordering from this…

First and last time ordering from this place. They offered a buy one get one half off deal in slippers I wanted for my sin. They placed the order than canceled the second, half-off item when they ran out of stock. That alone would not be terrible, but when I called to ask if they could send a second item at the discount price, they said they couldn't help me and that I needed to buy another pair at full price. What a scam. Now I have to go out of my way to make a return. Loser level customer service. I'll never let anyone I know enter one of these stores in my presence.

Spencer’s Order

I only put one star because I can’t put 0!
Do not order from them for delivery!
I ordered a ceramic item that broke in shipment.
They wanted me to drive 40 miles one way to return it so they can throw it in the trash!
They obviously don’t care about the safety of customers or employees to make them handle broken glass! I called and sent a picture so they refunded me the cost of the item but not the shipping! If they had packed it properly so it would not break, I would have received it undamaged! So, I am paying for their mistake. I will never order from them again!

Ordering online from Spencers is a nightmare. The website needs a massive overhaul. The customer service is sad. Their return process is a nightmare. 30 days that they have had my item and I was just told another 7-14 business days. Absolutely ridiculous.

just a beware to anyone ordering…

just a beware to anyone ordering online. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ITEMS THAT ARE NOT IN STOCK. I purchased an item 10 days ago, card was charged, received no confirmation. After not receiving a confirmation I reached out and they confirmed that they oversold it and that the “pending charge” (been out $50 for 10 days) would return to my account in 3-5 day. No apologies, no intent to remedy the situation. After 10 days and the charge is still pending, I reached out again and was told “well it’s 5-8 business days” (at this point it was 9 business days) Again, no apologies for the situation, and many many snarky comments about how they didn’t charge me if there is no order # and if it is technically still pending. Reached out to bank, they say reach out to merchant (Spencers). Merchant says it’s my bank that I am waiting on. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional. At the very least I would be satisfied with an apology and at least some sort of email stating that they oversold the item and what to expect from the “pending charge” process.

As a standard we do not charge for items until they have been fulfilled which does lead to a retail hold when placing the order. The retail hold is a pending pre-authorization intended to confirm the funds necessary for the purchase. This takes place when the "place order" button is selected. Once a package is shipped, this is either finalized or replaced with a completed charge depending on the financial institution. In the event an order is submitted and fails, the charge should automatically drop. Crazy bad customer service

We ordered a hard-all on August 28th
FedEx shipped it and on September 3rd it stopped at Rialto and there were no other updates. FedEx today investigation and said it was lost.
We called Spencers and gave them the information and they agreed that yet was lost Said they would send us another one but we told them no... We want a refund. Explain to them that the doll was a gift for birthday on September 13th. Also told them that we went out to Spirit Halloween and found the doll so we were able to give it as a birthday gift. No this is where it gets upsetting they told us that we had to give them a receipt from the store that we bought the doll from. We told them that doesn't make any sense we paid you money for a doll The doll didn't come The doll was meant for a specific event and so we no longer need the doll and you guys are still saying that we need the receipt. Found receipt text it to them. The person said oh I see you got a 10% military discount I said yes but what does that got to do with you paying us the full price. After jumping through hoops we finally got the refund. My wife told them after 40 years of shopping with them that she would not shop with them again which is good for me because she has spent thousands and thousands of dollars but bad for them

Well the returns from this company have…

Well the returns from this company have now been returned back to me from China!!!
The dresses were rubbish nothing like photos on Instagram, at a cost of £50 plus £25 to return requesting signature from them, it was then said waiting in customs then returned back to me.
Please DO NOT BUY from this absolutely disgusting scam of a company, Spencer and Co of London are in China not UK!!!

Just rude

Walking into the store i was excited to see the backpack I wanted was on sale with also a discount on top I walked up to the cash and waited the sale girl was talking to her friends and in no hurry to come over finally she put me through and seeing how cheap it was I decided to pick up a few more my granddaughter was eating cotton candy and it fell apart I passed her a paper towel and took the cone part to the cash to throw it out again the sales person ignored us so I did not want to go behind the counter so I left it with the sticky side out so it would stick to the counter I then was back to the backpacks when the sales girl came running over to us yelling at us about leaving garbage on her counter I said out loud I did not want to go behind her cash to put it in the garbage so I left it there she walked away talking to herself and because I had a five year old with me I didn't go back to confront her this was a st laurent shopping center she was tall full bodied with glitter on her chest she was rude and again chatting with other people and not serving people
