Was a great service, until they jacked up the price 4x (just under 400 a year to nearly 1500 a year), because "Our goal is to offer more consistency and ensure access to the latest features." At least be honest that it is greed.

We’ve had an outstanding experience with Aaron Lowe, our Customer Success Manager at Sortly. From day one, Aaron has gone above and beyond—offering insightful tips, creative workarounds, and exceptional support at every turn. His dedication and expertise have truly exceeded our expectations and made a significant impact on our success with the platform.
I can’t recommend Sortly highly enough—it’s a fantastic tool backed by an incredible team!

I cannot believe that they miss the most important feature.
How can i not bulk edit the items on the app?
Why can i not choose which order i want to display the stock in? you give me 3 bad options, by name, by count or by whatever. my storage room is set up in an exact way, i want the app to be set up in the same way too. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW TO UPDATE THE COUNTS. you need to do each one manually, like open it, change it, save it, confirm save, then do the next. Have you ever worked in a restaurant before? have you even worked anywhere before?

We’ve been using Sortly for over 4 years and were always satisfied with the $49/month plan, which offered solid value for money. Unfortunately, this has changed drastically.
The new price for that same plan is now $499/month – and no, that’s not a typo! We understand that pricing sometimes needs to be adjusted, but a tenfold increase is not an adjustment – it’s a slap in the face.
The new $49 plan is frankly a joke in terms of features. It’s completely stripped-down and in no way justifies the price. What’s worse is how long-standing customers are treated – with zero appreciation. No loyalty incentives, no transition support, nothing.
To make matters worse, the software has become slower and more unstable over time. What used to run smoothly now lags and crashes more frequently.
We’ve decided to part ways with Sortly and are now developing our own custom app. We won’t be joining Sortly on their pricing rollercoaster.
Bottom line: If this is how they treat loyal customers, it’s time to look elsewhere. We recommend finding a provider who values stability, transparency, and fairness.
Interesting answer on this review. Sorry, you will soon be out of business with such behavior.

We've used Sortly for over five years and built our entire inventory system around it — from thousands of items to dozens of custom fields. While the platform itself has generally served us well, we were recently faced with a nearly 300% price increase with just a couple weeks’ notice. That kind of sudden shift is extremely disruptive for a small business, especially after years of consistent use without major issues.
We reached out to support and were offered a 25% discount and a short grace period, which we’ve accepted for now. While we appreciate the gesture, the reality is that transitioning down to a lower plan would require manually deleting thousands of items and reworking core fields — all within a tight deadline. For businesses that have relied on Sortly long term, this change came with very little runway.
To be clear, this review isn’t about shaming anyone — it’s about sharing a truthful experience that might help others in the same position. Sortly’s support team was responsive, and they did offer a middle-ground solution, but the new pricing model (and it's suddent introduction) appears to have impacted many users, not just us.
If you're considering Sortly for long-term use, make sure to monitor their plan structures closely and prepare for unexpected changes. We'll continue for now, but with more caution moving forward and are always looking for alternatives.

Rather Expensive for its offerings. There should be a certain level for small scale users.

Sortly was a useful, cost effective inventory app. It did exactly what you would want it to do. As a small business clearly managing costs is important. In my 1st year of use I paid for the annual subscription at an introductory price of $340. Then I received the renewal. It seems Sortly felt it made sense to remove the basic levels that most small/micro business would use, introduce a new product and increase the cost to $1438 per year.
Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. So I cancelled and I don't imagine they'll be around much longer making business decisions like that.

We are a dental clinic in Germany with 100 employees. We don't manufacture anything—we only needed an overview of our inventory, its cost, and reports on incoming/outgoing goods. Unfortunately, Sortly has not met our expectations:
Cloning Issues: Bulk cloning only duplicates items in the same folder, making organization impossible.
Purchase Order Problems: Entering purchase orders with updated prices creates clones instead of updating the existing item, causing confusion and extra work.
Tax Functionality: Taxes must be entered manually as numbers rather than percentages, complicating financial tracking.
Reporting Shortcomings: Duplicate entries flood our reports, making it difficult to obtain a clear view of our inventory movements.
Vague Support Responses: Support often replies with “this is in development” and provides links without offering concrete solutions.
Overall Impression: While the interface is visually appealing, the core functionality is unrefined and unsuitable for our business needs.
We hoped for a robust inventory management solution, but Sortly has consistently fallen short.

It's very rare that a SaaS company manages to destroy trust in a single email, but Sortly achieved this ignominious feat with us this week.
We’ve been Sortly customers for a few years. The software is serviceable, a little glitchy; customer service is adequate, not the fastest and, unlike other platforms, there is no live chat or call option (unless you sign up to what is likely to be an eye-popping rate on their enterprise plan).
Two days ago Sortly advised us it was quartering the number of unique items in our existing plan (from 2000 to 500), halving the number of custom fields we can use (from 10 to 5), and more than halving the number of user licenses we have (from 4 to 2), amongst other restrictions. Alternatively, we can choose to pay almost triple our current annual subscription price to continue to ‘enjoy’ the features we currently have (i.e. for no material benefit whatsoever). Sortly have given us under 5 weeks to decide whether to accept their offer.
Can we afford Sortly’s new proposed plan? Absolutely. Are we going to move on to it? Absolutely not. This comes across as a deeply cynical, exploitative and manipulative attempt by Sortly to bounce its users into an offer they never signed up for. It seems clear that Sortly is relying on inaction, confusion and limitations on resources to make cash grabs from loyal customers.
I think Sortly fails to understand that most of its customers are likely to be reasonable. They will accept increases, even above inflation increases, even from a SaaS company that should be much more resilient to inflationary pressures than its user base, who it clearly doesn’t seem to understand.
We’ll be moving away from Sortly as we prioritise platforms that are stable, and I mean stable in terms of pricing and features (not just cyber security elements). Sortly would do well to look at QuickBooks, Microsoft and Trello to understand how to maintain user loyalty.
Fortunately Sortly exists in a pretty competitive landscape, and there are multiple providers out there to switch to, depending on the features needed.
Odoo Inventory has a free (and very feature reach) inventory management offer, if you can live with community support, if you can’t there are multiple paid for support options.
Alternatively Zoho Inventory is free if you have Zoho One. If you don’t have Zoho One it’s worth looking at, as it brings your tech ecosystem into a single orbit (you’ll find more than 40 enterprise-grade online applications to grow sales, market your business, do your accounting, communicate with teammates and customers, and more). The Zoho One subscriptions themselves are competitively priced for the wealth of services.
It’s sad to feel compelled to leave a 1 star review for what once looked like useful software for us, but we do this in the public interest. I hope Sortly learns from this review, but I suspect it won’t.

Many of these type services have great customer service prior to purchase and then make you regret it later. This company has been the complete opposite . I’ve enjoyed everything about their products from the time of purchase and even during a time when I’ve had an issue. Great customer service at an unbeatable price!

I signed up for the ultra plan. 1428 a year. Right on the billing date they charged me 2748. They said based on my inputs they voluntarily upgraded me to a custom plan to acommadate future usage based on their projection of my usage. No notification, no warning, no permission. They just charged me. I was below the threshold of my plan by a large margin. Had to fight for my money back. Warning

I love Sortly for our inventory. Easy to use and I can keep track of all our supplies. Just overall a great app. I just wish that the price for adding users would be less. We have 8 techs and we would love for all of them to have access but the price is keeping us from doing that!

We have been using Sortly as the inventory management solution for one of our departments for over a year now and the biggest stand-out to us has been the willingness and attentiveness of the Sortly team. Always able to meet when needed and they come prepared with answers or the people with the answers!

This is a very easy to use platform and has made keeping track of our consumables very easy.

The reports do not offer an easy way to track our inventory movement. I wish the reports were able to be better customized by each field. I wish you could customize the report to run on the specific activity type instead of the general topic. I have the Ultra plan and we are only allowed to save 3 custom reports?! Very disappointed in the reporting system.

Sortly has been a great boon to our little business. Now I can keep track of what my employees use and I'm not over or under ordering new stock.
