Sophie really nailed this course. As an interior designer without a degree but with over a million in annual revenue and five years of business under my belt, my concern was that this course would be geared too much for non-professionals. While it IS perfect for hobbyists, it was also incredibly valuable for me. The way she straddles that line is part of what makes it so impressive. While I already know most of what it is in the course, it was incredible to see the inner working of the best in the industry. I especiallly studied her before and after renderings - first looking at the before and determine what I would do, then looking at what she did and discovering the “why” behind it. There were several aha! moments. I have invested in something once before and it was a waste of money, so I was apprehensive. Sophie did not disappoint - this was worth every penny. (One side note for Americans: look at the exchange rate!!! I spent hundreds more than I was expecting. It was worth it, but that charge on my card was not a fun surprise.)

Probably the most useful resource out there for learning about a practical way to develop your interior design skills.

I have had access to it for a while and this course is fantastic to refer back to, the self paced nature of it means you can fit it around a full time job very easily. Brilliant combined with the Mood Board community, you will learn and connect with like minded people.

I’m so grateful I’ve invested in the SP academy course! I bought the course as I had just bought a house and wanted to know the right design principles. It’s been so useful that I’ve literally taken some of the briefing questionnaires along to showrooms when picking my bathroom and kitchen.

Aside from that, I’m also really interested in starting my own design studio one day and I know that the academy is going to be a major pillar of education for me therein. Thank you Sophie and team. We can tell that countless of hours you have put into this course. God bless you!

This course has been so timely for me, I've always loved interior design and thought I had done pretty well designing my own space but this has opened my eyes to so many things that is often over looked. I am in the process of completing on a new house and I am so excited to start the project armed with all this amazing knowledge. Thank you.

I’m currently considering a career change into interiors and the Academy has given me a much more realistic understanding of the industry. I’ve particularly enjoyed seeing the behind-the-scenes processes that you don’t usually see on Instagram. It’s helped me understand both the creative and practical sides of working on a project. It’s been great because I have studied in my own time alongside my day job. It’s flexible and actually really enjoyable and engaging.

I have really enjoyed it! I'm a 'visual learner', so have found the videos the perfect way to learn about interior design. There's a brilliant mix of practical takeout and inspiration. It's given me so many new ideas and the confidence, to tackle my sitting room which is crying out for attention.

I’m so glad I took the chance with this course. It has given me so much more confidence. Before starting, I was feeling quite overwhelmed by the design process and the idea of potentially starting my own business. The course broke everything down and made the whole process feel much more achievable!

Just the Help we needed, Currently going through a renovation here with my partner and as much as we like to think we know what we're doing.. truthfully we're in the deep end! Investing in the academy felt initially like a step back, but very quickly we found ourselves answering questions from our design team, identifying potential problems and also thinking creatively about our project. We couldn't be happier!

My strength has always been the creative side of interiors, but I lacked confidence when it came to technical drawings and specifications. Seeing real examples from Sophie’s projects has made these feel much less intimidating. Especially when im talking to trades people or suppliers, I know the I’m getting the terminology right. Before, I sometimes struggled to explain exactly what I wanted or even know what questions I should be asking. I now feel far better prepared for meetings and much less intimidated by the technical conversations. This is the kind of practical information I had been searching for and it’s all in one place.

I had no idea how much thought should go into lighting, sockets and switches until doing this course. I was just planning to have a grid of downlights but it completely changed my outlook. I learnt that every light needs to serve a purpose and highlight something - so actually I needed to plan where I wanted every piece of furniture and artwork before I could even start my lighting plan. There is so much I learnt that I would have otherwise have missed. Our electrician probably thinks I’m incredibly particular now, but at least everything will be where we actually need it! Lighting is such an art and I’ve found it fascinating.

I loved this course, so informative and so easy to follow. Highly recommend!!

I couldn’t recommend the Sophie Paterson Academy enough. The courses are incredibly detailed and give such a valuable insight into the entire design process, from the initial concept and planning stages right through to the finishing touches.

Signed up for the week introductory offer of £10 for the Mood Board and now find that there is absolutely no way or means to cancel the subscription on their app or website. I have written directly to them but no answer. As per UK government regulations when you sign up for an online subscription you should also be able to cancel it online. But of course there is absolutely no way to do that. I am hereby warning you if you sign up for the introductory offer please know you will not be able to cancel it online or any other way. I have tried emailing the academy but have received no reply and no acknowledgment of my email. Total scam to get you hooked into giving £40 a month. Beware of sign in no up for this £10 introductory offer. It says cancel anytime on it but the reality is you can’t. Very disappointed in this organisation.

Excellent content, absolute no-brainer if you are first time renovator or even already have your own interior design business.

Very informative and nicely explained

I took sometime before taking the plunge to purchase the SP Academy Course, but I must admit I am not disappointed. Ofcourse its an investment, but its one that I'm sure will pay off. There are some real nuggets of information in there which will be invaluable, and I don't doubt will save me pennies in the future, but not falling into silly mistakes which are costly to rectify. I am really enjoying working through the different modules and the activities set throughout.

Excellent value in this course, would 100% recommend to anyone in interior design industry and also anyone taking on your own home renovation.

Love the course. Very detailed and Sophie is a great instructor!
