I ordered a tie from Sophgent, and paid for expedited service. I later found out that expedited service can take up to 7-9 days. The tie was for a wedding, and I did not receive it in time. When I did receive it, it was too late, and I asked if I could return it. At first, the company said I could not return it, then they agreed for me to return it. I returned it, and they never gave me any kind of a credit, even though they said that they would in writing. I paid for return shipping as well. Extremely disappointing experience.

Two issues with one order. I ordered two ties but they only sent one, claimed that both were delivered in same package. I have not been able to get them to return a call or respond to email and had to resort to a credit card dispute to resolve.
The other issue is more concerning. The ties were advertised and sold as silk. The one that I received is some type of cheap polyester. Paid 48 dollars each for a tie that could be purchased elsewhere for 10 bucks. Stay away from this place!

Ordered a tie set several weeks ago, and it's still not here, and there is no tracking information. I attempted to track it via their website, and the "locate your order" feature isn't functional. I researched the company (after the fact, unfortunately), and see that they get very poor reviews and comments about deception. I'm bummed, but should have checked them out first.

Company advertised shirts as being 100% silk. Products delivered were polyester x 1 and polyester/silk in unspecified ratio x 1. Deceptive, misleading advertising. I think that they know most folk will not bother to complain and write off to experience.. a shame. AVOID!!!

I agree that this company has deceptive advertising. The advertising states that the ties are 100% silk and that is the reason I purchased it. What I received was a silk/polyester tie. I complained to the company but received no response. Also their return policy is full of loopholes so that they will not return your purchase price. Avoid this company.

Deceptive Advertising and Complete Bait-and-Switch

This is one of the most misleading purchases I have made online.

I ordered two tie sets from Sophisticated Gentlemen based on their repeated claims that these were silk ties. The product pages clearly advertise “100% Silk” and “handmade silk set.” That is the only reason I placed the order.

When the package arrived, I immediately noticed something was off. I checked the tag on the Luxury Black Double Stripe tie and it clearly states 100% polyester. Not silk. Not a blend. Polyester.

This is not a minor mistake or a quality issue. This is a flat-out misrepresentation of the product being sold.

I would never pay $48 for a polyester tie, let alone order two of them. The entire purchase decision was based on the claim that these were silk products. Advertising silk and shipping polyester is a classic bait-and-switch.

To make matters worse, only one of the two items even arrived, and now I am stuck having to chase down a refund for a product that was falsely advertised in the first place.

If you are considering buying from this company, be warned. Do not trust the material descriptions on the website. Check the tags immediately, because what you receive may not be what you were promised.

This experience has completely destroyed my trust in this brand. I will not be ordering again and I strongly recommend others think twice before doing so.

This has not been a good experience. If I could rate it lower than a 1 star, I would. I never received a tracking number for my order; although, my credit card was charged immediately. I never received the order. The order number cannot be used in the tracker. The phone number listed does not answer and only says user busy. I would not recommend utilizing this site. I am a verified purchaser from 8/3/2025. PS… advise to check the BBB rating.

Made an online purchase. Item not delivered after a month. Sophgent claimed item out of stock when i complained about non-delivery, and asked me to pick another item. I refused and asked for refund. Got an email advising refund would be in my account in 5 business days. That was 20 business days ago - and still no refund received. Now in the hands of PayPal and American Express. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
