Literally the easiest and best way to apply sunscreen to my little one!! Gone are the days of arguments in the morning, and knowing that he can use it in school without me is the best! Thank you Solar Buddies!

Great simple product, So easy to use and love the fact each person can have their own applicator with name on. Bright and colourful and love the additional clip so you can carry anywhere for it to be at hand. Very easy to clean. Ease of ordering from your website.

Order arrived when they said it would. If only other companies did likewise

Good idea but not enough suncream comes out to protect skin

A great idea, very useful to allow easy suncream application. Unfortunately one of the foam applicators fell off but the company kindly sent a replacement lid and applicator free of charge to allow it to work again.

Expensive and didn't realise it would be empty. Red hot day with 5 year old visiting RHS Bridgewater.

I’m absolutely gutted about this product, first seen on dragons den (love the tv show) so bought two one for me and one for my partner as we both hate the feeling of sun cream on our hands as I’ve got dermatitis and with having young children we thought it would be great as we apply sun cream every half an hour/45minutes.
The lid on both buddies kept falling off and the sponge is to thick and rough it doesn’t apply enough to the children’s skin, we applied creaming using this on our first day of holiday and both kids ended up burnt, (streaky) which is where I think the sponge is rubbing the sun cream off and not into the skin. Would be such a brilliant product if it was manufactured properly.

I bought these for my family as I’m allergic to sunscreen so thought it would be easier for them to use these to apply the cream to themselves. 2 out of 3 badly burnt despite using factor 50 suncream.

When I first bought these ages ago, they were fab, good coverage and easy to use. Then we needed to purchase replacement heads as the sponges come unstuck. Then the issues started...the lids weren't compatible with the new heads as thread was different. Contacted them and sorted something out. Worse though, the new sponges are so thick and firm you can't get the cream on to the skin. I've resorted to unscrewing them and applying by hand to make sure children are protected. Brilliant idea, ruined :(

I've bought a solar buddy a couple of times now and can't rate them highly enough. Having just ordered directly from their website I was amazed at the product being dispatched within an hour of ordering. It's such a clever product and gives my children independence to top up their own suncream too.

School decided we have to provide roll on suncream for reception year kids so thought this refillable roll on applicator was a great idea. Unfortunately not. Day 1 he has terrible sunburn. The sponge thing in the applicator seems to wipe the suncream off and so kids end up with the tiniest bit of inconsistent suncream on them. Absolutely terrible and dangerous.

I ordered a pair. They arrived very quickly. We had an issue where the cap on one of them didn't click in and just fell off. We emailed customer service with a video and they quickly sent out a replacement top which worked perfectly. Overall I'm very happy with both the product and the service we received and would recommend. The initial order was made on the 2nd September and everything was resolved by the 7th September. Thank you from a very happy customer!

I got two of these for my holiday. And after two days using them I found them to be very dangerous. They did not allow enough cream out to cover my children. Who started to get burnt. We stopped using them immediately. I think I need to let people know how dangerous these are.

Great product. Ordered another and one for my brother. Makes putting cream on so much easier especially with little ones. My 5 year old now does it all by himself. Great invention so glad i tried it! would recommend to anyone.

I can honestly say that this is one of the best and effective products I have EVER bought. I have sensory issues, recently being diagnosed (at the age of 42) with autisum and ADHD. Previously I hated putting suncream on as it felt so heavy and I couldn't stand the feel of it against my hands and body. This now means that I can apply suncream quickly and easily to myself and my kids. I've recommended it to all of my mum friends. It also means that we use much less suncream as it's not being caked on. I have 2 fair skinned, ginger haired boys. We used the solar buddy whilst stuck in the middle of the recent heatwave in Spain. We didn't burn once. Awesome product. Some people say that the applicator leaks. As per the instructions, I used a thicker suncream (Nivea Protect & Moisture) which I would normally avoid as it goes on really heavily. I have had the applicator clipped to my rucksack for the whole summer holidays and not one drip has leaked out. As long as you use a thicker suncream then it's perfect. I'll never put suncream on by hand again. Even my wife who isn't easily impressed loves it too. Thanks Solar Buddies!

Love the product in general but the clip on one of mine broken within a week. I reached out to them and they offered to send me a replacement so I was obviously happy this was getting resolved.

Well the replacement never came which leaves a lot for to be said for the customer service department

I bought the item as it looked good and useful, however there seems to be a common fault with the product. The cap that goes on the bottom of the bottle ( it covers the sponge applicators)
The top repeatedly comes off, it’s not secure, and leaks Sun lotion everywhere, it doesn’t screw on, it is just placed on top and therefore can come off so easily especially in a kids bag. They put the bag on their back and that is literally enough to knock the lid off, even when I hold it in my hands and move it gently, the lid comes off it, then sun cream goes everywhere , it’s a nightmare. I thought I’d give Solar buddies the opportunity to sort it out, I had to post my issue on their Facebook page as they were not responding to my emails. (They have since responded) I also saw that numerous people had commented on Solar Buddies facebook post and most had the exact same issue with the lid. Quite a few people also had other issues.
on Facebook the company responded to other customers to say they promised they would send out replacements. However, I didn't get that offer. Their customer services is poor, they told me that I had to make videos to send to them showing the fault- clearly as proof as they think I’m making it up for fun. (I sent the videos) I’m so annoyed at them for not responding to my concerns, they have not answered any of my questions or concerns in my emails and they have instead asked me to “ hang fire” until they could sort a link for me to return the item. I now have the hassle of returning the whole item (and its contents) which leaves me without the product when it’s most needed in summer and especially as my child is off n holiday. They could have just sent out a replacement. (Initially they did not even send me a link to return the item despite the email saying there was a link attached)
In theory the product could be great but they need to iron out the faults. Like the lid not fitting, it leaking, and the top not fitting and coming off meaning sun lotion goes everywhere and sun lotion isn’t cheap too waste or easy to get out of bags or clothes where it’s leaked on to them.
I’m not a happy customer but it could have so easily been resolved had their customer service team sorted it out but instead they make you feel worse and they want you to jump through hoops to resolve THEIR issue. It’s not on.
