I have never received anything so well…
I have never received anything so well packaged for transport - and that includes fragile items too!
Box is very well made and was easy to fit. I made a template from cardboard to mark the hole drilling positions on the wall. The wall is roughcast so I made some spacers to prevent the back of the box being damaged by the uneven surface.
Out postie prefers this box to the old letter plate. I would have liked the flap to be self-closing, but I can see the advantages to both philosophies. It's not been left open yet!

XL parcel box is good product but can be tricky to install
We have an XL parcel box which is a good product but can be tricky to install as the installation bolts are difficult to get lined up properly and can be awkward to access.

Large Smart Parcel Box
The “Smart Parcel Box® Large Front & Rear Access Dark Grey” was delivered in good time and was extremely well packaged.
The courier company were very good and kept us well informed/updated with the delivery time.
The box itself is well made and works well.
It is certainly obtrusive and the postal service personnel should have no problem noticing it!!
The paint/coating is very thin and I found it scratched easily during fitting up against a brick wall, I had to touch up a number of scratches on the rear before the final fitting.
Also, the locks are a bit on the flimsy side which lets the overall package down a bit.
Time will tell how well the very thin paint/coating stands up to the elements.
UPDATE 11th August 2026. I am finding that the grey coated box gets to over 40 centigrade on a sunny day like today ( air temp is 25 C ). If I had known this, I would have gone for the white one as my old box was white and didn't have any high temperature problems. I get my repeat medication posted to me and the high temperatures inside the dark box will be detrimental to the meds as the recommended storage temperature is below 25°C. This is not a problem with the design of the box, only my colour choice!!

Track Your Order Does Not Work
Ordered a £249.99 parcel box on 27 July 2026. Advised on 3 August 2026 that item was dispatched and provided with a tracking number. Attempted to use the tracking number to follow the 2-man delivery. Did not work on 4 August, so called the company. Advised it would be updated in 24 hours. Tried again on 5 August 2026, still did not work. It is now the 6 August 2026, the tracking number still does not advise when the parcel will arrive. I have cancer and need to arrange for parcel box to be placed correctly as it those delivering will not do so. Unable to do arrange anything and Smartparcelbox is useless.

We completely understand how important it was for you to have clear delivery information in advance, particularly given the personal circumstances you explained. We are sorry that this has added unnecessary stress.
We would, however, like to clarify that the delay in the tracking information being updated was with V1 Distribution, the 2-man delivery company handling your delivery, rather than with Smart Parcel Box. The tracking number provided is valid and working, and delivery updates have been issued directly by V1 Distribution as the consignment has progressed.
We can confirm that your parcel is now out for delivery today, with the current delivery window being between 1pm and 4pm.
We appreciate that this situation has been frustrating, and we are sorry that the information was not available to you as quickly as it should have been. We will continue to monitor the delivery and hope your parcel arrives safely within the advised window today.

We're sorry to hear about your delivery experience. According to the information provided by DPD, a delivery attempt was made to the address supplied with the order. The driver captured a delivery image showing a recipient at the property, and the GPS data appears to be at the correct location.
The parcel was subsequently recorded by DPD as having been 'refused', resulting in its return back to us. Once the returned parcel was received, we processed a full refund promptly based on this information.
While we appreciate that there may have been some confusion or mis-communication between the recipient and DPD regarding the delivery, we fulfilled the order and acted in accordance with the courier's tracking and delivery records. We have also corresponded with you directly regarding this matter and provided all the information available to us.
Should you wish to place an order with us again in the future, please feel free to contact us directly. We would be more than happy to oversee the process closely and assist with any delivery queries to help ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
