We were a party of eight adults and five children staying for a long weekend celebrating a big birthday. The garden and the house was more than big enough for us to be all together in any one of the dining room, kitchen and living room and allow spaces for quiet time when needed. The garden was a great space for the children and dog to explore and for the adults to sit and chill. The hot tub was just lovely and the games room over the garage was a great place for the generations to challenge each other!
The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The pub was 2 minutes walk away and the food and service was superb. The walks were easy with the public footpath outside the gate and the visits from the ponies to the gate thrilled the children. The whole weekend exceeded our expectations, thankyou Beck Cottage.

I recently stayed at Arniss Farm, booked through Short Stay Homes, and had a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Booked the farmhouse, lodge and shepherd hut. The properties were clean, well-equipped, and set in a beautiful, peaceful location—perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature. Communication with the hosts was smooth and professional throughout, and they were prompt in arranging the refund of the security deposit, which added to the overall positive experience.

I would definitely recommend Arniss Farm to anyone looking for a countryside retreat with great service and comfortable accommodation.

This is my 2nd booking at Short Stay Homes, many more to come.

There were eight of us staying here and we thought it was the best airbnb we had stayed in. The house is modern, airy and bright with fantastic views of the Blackdown Hills and beyond. It is well-equiped and we appreciated the welcome pack of biscuits, etc, flowers and prosecco We paid extra for the large hot tub, which was well maintained and which the children loved. The house is remote but the benefit of that is the peace and quiet and the countryside views, which we miss.

Beautiful stay in a perfect house. Well equipped and ideal for a large family. Great location for our first visit to the New Forest, we will definitely be back.

We rented this cottage for a family holiday, Us, our two children, partners and 4 grandchildren. The house was very well presented and there was a huge amount of space for us all: the kitchen diner was really well equipped and the table could accommodate 14 if necessary. There are 4 lounge areas, including the bar, so lots of space to do things together or for a bit of peace and quiet. The bedrooms were fine, especially the master bedroom, and all had comfortable beds and good furniture. A couple of the bathrooms were a little cramped but certainly plentiful in number for the size of our group. The games room was a bonus but perhaps needs some new equipment as it has a lot of use.The location in West Moors was perfect for the coast, Wimborne, or the Moors Valley Park, all great places to go. There are also good local shops in town and we had a large delivery from Morrisons.

A very pleasant well equipped cottage, good for a large family get together. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms all on one level , the beds were comfortable, but the living room was dark and a little dated. . Nice in theory to have an electric car charger at the cottage but the price per KWHr was very high , more than twice the price of the MER public charger ( very easy to use) in Fording bridge .

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic chilling week at Riverside Lodge (Aug 2025). The lodge itself was extremely cosy with everything you would need. Beds were very comfy and the lounge perfect. Short Stay Homes were excellent in terms of communication, couldn’t have asked for more.

Absolutely beautiful lodge. Owner very responsive and helpful. We've had the most gorgeous holiday nestled in this fabulous spot, embedded in nature.

Superb stay at The Quays, Christchurch. Perfect accommodation for the 20 people in our extended family. Well equipped, space for everyone, plenty of parking, a hot tub, all in an amazing location. With local amenities on the doorstep and plenty of activities/days out nearby, our family (of varied ages) thoroughly enjoyed the week there.
Short Stay Homes were brilliant throughout. Great communication and instructions - loved their little app which was a great way to make sure everyone in the family had all the information they needed about the property.
Would definitely recommend Short Stay Homes and The Quay in Christchurch.

The whole experience at Arniss Farm was fantastic. We hired the Lodge too for a family gathering to celebrate my mum's 90th birthday. The facilities were perfect for us and the accommodation had all that we needed and much more. The whole place was spotless and there was absolutely nothing we could complain about at all. I highly recommend this fabulous location and property.

Fantastic Stay at Galton’s Cottage!

Where do I start? I stayed at Galton’s Cottage with a group of lads – all family and friends – and it was an amazing experience. The cottage itself is spacious, with plenty of room for everyone, multiple bathrooms, and a stunning garden to relax in. It’s incredibly well-equipped with all the modern conveniences you’d expect from a home away from home.

The location is spot on too – local pubs and shops are just a 5-minute walk away, making everything super convenient.

We’ll definitely be coming back again and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great group getaway. A big thanks to Caroline and the rest of the team at Short Stay Homes – you made our trip perfect!

When booking for a large family group, it’s so nice to speak to the same person with any queries or additions to the booking.
The houses (this is our second break with Short Stay Homes) have both been clean and well appointed.

The house was furnished to a high standard and was in a perfect location for some wonderfully varied cycling. The hot tub was great after some long bike rides! Lots of useful equipment in the kitchen but a few minor bits missing. Didnt disappoint though!

It would have been nice to be able to use the gate directly out to the Abbey grounds rather than having to walk around to the car park, or use the steep steps of the front door onto the main road.

The place was superb, so serene, so quiet and a wonderful location, to relax, or if you want to go for walks, as there are hundreds and a lot we did were superb.

Our return stay at Arniss Farmhouse was as fabulous as the first. Everything we needed for our family break was provided. The house and garden are beautifully maintained. The service and communication prior and during our stay are friendly and efficient. So happy to have found Short Stay Homes and we are looking forward to returning again next year.

A lovely large property in a beautiful location. A place where you can drive to and then leave the car for a week as there is a lot to do within walking distance. Clean with all the comforts you would expect. Lovely place this was our 2nd visit.

Excellent communication on all aspects of our reservation. Accommodation was excellent and as described online, it could not be faulted.
The property brochure pack received prior to our stay was comprehensive. Would recommend.

We had a fabulous family week away in this lovely house. The open plan layout was great for socialising and the kitchen was particularly well stocked with lots of large pans, utensils, crockery - ideal for a large family who enjoy cooking. The garden was secure with super views and surrounded by fields of sheep and new born lambs. The hot tub was kept immaculately clean and checked each day by the site manager who was very helpful throughout our stay.
