Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. Had to get my car on side of 6 lane highway, not my home.
Testimonial: Initial contract easy, pick up easy. Delivery was a nightmare. Absolutely disgusting. Contract stipulated delivery to my home. Confirmed check was acceptable on delivery. Called that am, told to come get my car. They were on side of Route 2, Annapolis MD, busy 6 lane highway, he told me to walk or ride my bike (???). I was shocked. I have photos to back this all up. Tried to charge me more money. Called Ship A Car when they opened (Saturday)--Brian was useless, and didn't care. I had to wait until 11:00 am for this company to open to tell them what was occurring...Driver is fuming and rude because I won't get car on highway. I told them to bring car to me if it is that easy for me to walk to them. Then company sends me text, no check (they are revoking that payment). Lol..it is Saturday. Banks closed by noon. This went on forever...Driver (Sergio) brings me car to my driveway (as it should have been done in the first place, as I paid for). Payment issue worked out after hours of BS. Sends my receipt to my email. All paid...Sergio will not hand the keys to me...standing in driveway raging. I had to call police to intervene and get my keys...told him multiple times to get off my property..he started filming me...Seriously, you can't make this story up. STAY AWAY FROM ALL OF THEM....terrible. Danny (says he is owner) called to offer me 100.00 credit...really...at this point I've spent 5 hours on a Saturday fighting for my car, that is paid for. I told him keep his 100.00 as that won't prevent me from reviewing his company, which I know he was trying to avoid. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM...DO NOT USE. SERGIO honestly should be in jail for his odd behavior. SHIP A CAR DIDN'T CARE AT ALL. Once they secure your money, they do not CARE WHAT HAPPENS IN TRANSITION. TERRIBLE. I have photos to back up all of my claims..event sent them to SHIP A CAR.

We shipped a car from Naples

We shipped a car from Naples, FL to Germantown, TN, the first time we have ever shipped a car. Ship A Car Direct (SACD) made the entire experience easy with no surprises. Quoted price was competitive and they met our pick up time and even delivered the car in one day.
Our service advisor (John) kept us advised all throughout the process which gave a good comfort with our decision to use SACD. We will definitely use them again in the future.

Terrific service!

Terrific service! It was such a pleasure to work with John, he answered all my questions and worked very hard to find transport for my vehicle on the dates that I needed it. The driver who picked up the car was very polite and friendly, and I was very happy with the service.

Wade was really helpful in helping me set up a pick up date that fit my preferred drop off day. He was always available if I had any questions. The driver was also very good. Very easy to reach and accommodated my needs and schedule.

Helped out in a time of need

Didn't chose Ship A Car when I planned the car transportation but went with another vendor. And boy was that a mistake. The carrier bailed out on us the night before pickup and I called Ship A Car the next morning and they reassured me that they would get a carrier quickily. We left for home and the new carrier picked up the car and delivered it perfectly within the week. Great service during a time of crisis.

Great experience

Great experience, contacted multiple companies and no one could do Sunday pickup and we’re all coming in over $1500 for open trailer shipping from MI to CA.

Ship A Car came back with the lowest price AND picked up on my exact date instead of a range. Car arrived on time as promised with great communication through the process.

I never transported a vehicle before

I never transported a vehicle before, therefore, I ws concerned. Importantly, The team was easy going, listened, and maintained good communication! The vehicle arrived ahead of schedule and absolutely no damage nor negative experience.

I spoke to an actual person!

I got in touch with several companies after doing a lot of research and I was most impressed with Ship A Car.
There was a person on the other end of the phone (Matt) who was able to answer all of my questions and also do several check-ins to be sure the process was going smoothly.
Once they found a shipper, the hand-off was seamless and I was in direct touch with that person until the car was delivered.
Nothing went wrong so I can't speak to what would have happened had there been problems. But there weren't and that's why I'm writing.
I would absolutely use them again to ship my car, no question.

The entire process to have my son’s car shipped from Austin to San Francisco was simply seamless, professional and we felt very confident that our car would arrive in a timely fashion and without blemish. The agent to the driver were first class! Thank you again!

Don't waste your money and time with them. Do yourself a favor DON'T use SHIP A CAR DIRECT but use MONTWAY instead!

Booked a transport from CA to FL in December, was told it might take a few days longer to find a driver since it's holiday season which I was ok with.

Big mistake! I define a few days as 2-5 days, however, a few days to them seems to be 16 days and counting that's almost 2.5 weeks which were full of lies and deception...e.g. we have drivers going to FL this week, your car gets booked/picked up within the next 2-3 days...NOTHING! Got the VMs/emails to prove it.

Or one of their customer reps told me to not cancel the order with them while simultaneously place an order with another company...very unethical. Or (this is my favorite), we are not making any money on the order...we have added our commision to the driver's fee...right lol

Their customer service is non-existent...customer rep named John is the worst...called his direct line with my number showing, all I got was a dead phone line! I called his direct line with my number not showing, it went straight to his VM. Or when I called they the general customer line and asked for him...he was always out or away...

The best thing when he did return my calls...my phone rang one time! and then they had the autobot going straight into my VM...he did it on purpose this way so he didn't have to talk to me and left his lies and blablabla on my VM.

After waiting for 16 days I had enough and cancelled with them and placed an order with MONTWAY. Five hours later on the same day, my car was booked with a pick up date 3 days later. My car was picked up even before the pick up window and was delivered within the promised time frame 7 days later.

MONTWAY was great customer service and communication from start to finish.

MONTWAY was CHEAPER than SHIP A CAR DIRECT!

Rumor has it SHIP A CAR DIRECT will GO OUT OF BUSINESS pretty soon...I believe it.

I do appreciate your response, however, John's (or for that matter Ship a Car Direct) "dropping the ball" did cost me at least an extra $400 - $500 due to having to extent my apt lease for an extra week, changing travel/moving arangement, etc as well as not to mention the unnecessary stress, aggravation and time spent to find another carrier.

Also, it is one thing to be clearer but it is another not saying the truth/lying about what to expect just to gain someone's business. That is unethical and dishonest business pratice imo.

Whether you do or do not pick up Montway's rebounds, I just do not care for and see how that helps/helped me in any way while I was waiting for 16 days and counting for a carrier from Ship a Car Direct strung along with my calls being avoided as well as being told to place my order with multiple carriers...

Again, the big musical chairs thing comparison and whether to believe you is totally irrelevant in my case or in anyone's case going through this. Additionally, we all know reviews can be fake, good and bad ones, for that matter.

As in my case, MONTWAY delivered as promised and advertised. And that's the only and most important thing to me. They seem to have the best availability, 24/7 service & clear communication from my experience, I cannot speak for others. Given the fact that they are shipping 100k - 120k cars a year which is prob at least 5x - 10x as many cars as Ship a car direct or most other carriers, their number of reviews, good and bad, is prob higher as well.

I believe full responsibility would be to compensate an unsatisfied customer for extra expenses occurred due to putting trust into your company to provide advertised services that were not delivered in the end.

Hi Andy, To paraphrase Mark Twain - The rumors of our death have been greatly exaggerated.

But sorry you had such a bad experience with us, and glad to hear that Montway took good care of you. It seems John really did drop the ball by setting some improper expectations. The Xmas and New Years holiday weeks are the slowest weeks of the year. Always. This year, between COVID and both holidays falling on a Friday, it was even slower than normal. John’s been doing this awhile and he should have told you when you placed your order on December 21st with a first available pickup date of Saturday 12/26 that you should not expect to see ANY interest from carriers on your vehicle until the week of January 4th at the earliest. If he had been clearer about that, I doubt you would have canceled your order in frustration on January 6th, as you did. I see in your file notes that interested carriers were becoming options as of the 5th, but don’t blame you for getting frustrated and jumping ship.

There’s a big musical chairs thing that happens right after the new year, where frustrated customers that were expecting a pickup over the holidays cancel with their company and book with a new one. As sorry as I am to lose your trust and your business, Andy, I can say with confidence that we pick up far more of Montway’s rebounds than they pick up of ours. Don’t believe me? Take a quick look at their yelp page in the first two weeks of the New Year as compared to ours.

But, we take full ownership of not setting the proper expectations here and fully deserve this one star review for it. We will do better.

Very reliable, good price and very friendly costumers service.
They were happy to answer any question I had any time.
I would warmly recommend them! And definitely would use this service again whenever I'll need to go back from the west cost to the east.

We bought our car sight unseen from a…

We bought our car sight unseen from a dealership in Chicago. My brother referred us to Ship a Car Direct and we couldn't have been happier with their services. There was constant, relevant communication throughout the process. The driver arrived and delivered as promised and he even warmed up the car and turned on a local Christmas music station for us upon our arrival. I'd use them again, positively!
