First Time Shipping a Vehicle
First time shipping a vehicle. There are so many car-shipping companies that all want your business and selecting a good one is not easy. On a recommendation from a relative, and after getting several bids, I selected ShipACarDirect to ship my vehicle 1800 miles.
I liked the website, and how their online fill-out form works compared to other companies. They take a small amount down and you don't pay anything more until the car is delivered.
The informational videos provided were helpful to understand the process. The phone app is rather simplistic and could use some enhancement to better document the load up, such as a pic for odometer reading, or a current weather statement (very different with dry vs. wet/snow conditions).
Mike was good with keeping me informed via email, prior to shipping, however, I got the impression that they are closed on weekends (I don't blame them) but it would be better if the actual day and time of pickup were better communicated in the form of more updates the day or two before when pickup day is a Monday. The carriers like to fill their trucks and I had a fairly good pickup window of days for them to get the vehicle...best to remain flexible for them to better schedule it. Another difference was that it was an 'Enclosed Carrier' and a bit more expensive to ship interstate, from CA to TX.
The carrier driver delivered the vehicle in good condition, undamaged, 6 days later on the agreed upon contract delivery date and called me ahead of time to let me know he was behind schedule: not a problem.
Based on my experience, a suggestion is to be prepared to meet the driver nearby and get your vehicle where there is plenty of street or large parking lot area as these trucks are very long and cannot maneuver easily.
I would use this company again and their transport carrier, Gorban Transportation Inc, as they provided an effective, problem free, good service, and did what they said they would do.
A mediocre first experience
*** EDITED from 2 stars to 3 as the manager from Ship A Car has contacted me to try and rectify the situation and I appreciate the customer service****. Not a great first experience shipping our car cross country for our move.The cost to ship ended up being more than what was quoted. Second, it was not easy reaching Scott or the 24 hour direct line at Ship A Car. We had to bend over backwards to try to figure out when our car would be picked up and the pickup date ended up being late. Since our driver was late, this resulted in our delivery being a day late with nobody to receive the car, even though I was promised it would arrive in the drop off date that I gave Ship A Car. Our driver Dean was extremely rude, unprofessional and misogynistic when I expressed my concerns about the delivery date since we would not be home to receive the car. All in all, I would try Ship A Car again as I appreciate the kindness shown after posting my review about my experience. I think this company has potential, they just need to vet their carriers a little better.

What more can I say?
My vehicle was picked up during the correct time window and the driver made it within 30 minutes of the expected arrival time. Too bad airlines aren't that punctual... :) The driver was extremely friendly and his truck and trailer were almost new. The vehicle was securely fasten to the trailer and arrived in great condition. What more can I say? It was a great experience.

Ship A Car Direct went so well, so smoothly, all I can say is "THANK YOU"! The communication was great, the pick-up and drop off went without any issues, and my car was delivered as promised. I will for sure use them again and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the shipping experience. They are responsive to my questions, and they communicated with me frequently in the whole process.
The only thing I can complain about is that they gave a very short notice for pick-up (they emailed me at 9 am saying the driver will pick up the car today while I am on my way to work...)
Transporter overstressed my door panels on Audi S4. All four doors no longer watertight.
This review goes back to a transaction on December 2018. We worked with Jennifer. She was very good. The problem with my car was only determined last year by South Jersey Auto Body. The car, a 2004 Audi S4 was shipped to Philadelphia from Denver by BML Transport LLC. We had a very difficult move and after I picked up the car in Philadelphia and took it to the house we were renting in South Jersey until we could find a home to purchase. It was cold and snowy and after I picked up the car I noticed the front half inch of trim on the drivers side door broke off when I opened the door. I was bummed out but I didn't think much about it. I had to much going on. I than noticed ice building up inside the car on the running boards on all four doors. I thought a door seal might be bad but this car had never leaked since I owned it and certainly not on all four doors leaking. I had to buy a car cover to keep the water out. I did not no what was happening and was really upset. It was finally determined later that the door frames had been severely overstressed in transport. The transport guy had actually tightened the chains to much. That's what shoved the door panel trim forward and caused all four door seals to not seal up. It took me a long time to save up for this automobile and it was never the same. I understand too much time has gone by for any recourse. However I trusted Ship A Car Direct to take care of my car and they failed. I didn't have a reference number so I included the quote number if anybody cares. Thank you.

Great service, although sometimes felt down to the wire
At the end of the day, the car move worked out perfectly (in our case a Honda being shipped from San Francisco to Seattle) - awesome staff on both ends, easy to pay, and more. The ship a car direct app was also helpful. Prices reasonable and better than what our movers would have charged.
Only reason I went with 4 stars instead of 5 is that our 3-day window nearly came and went without a carrier accepting the order. Everyone I spoke with at ship a car direct wasn’t remotely concerned, but I think setting this expectation in advance (e.g., that 30% of cars get shipped on day 1 of the window, 40% on day 2, etc) would have helped to lower our anxiety.

They also provided a lot of helpful info for me as someone who was shipping a car for the first time. The price was reasonable & better than several other quotes from different companies, without feeling like I sacrificed on quality/safety or timeliness.

After doing some research I opted to go with Ship a Car Direct. They were great with communication, found a transporter to move my car within a few days and followed up after delivery. Their price was in the middle of the companies I looked at - very reasonable. I was very happy with my experience.

Had a pleasant experience. Got the car picked up early in the window they gave me. The man was super attentive and courteous. Had to pay an extra $200 for the items I was shipping in my car but I was warned of this, so not a problem. They delivered it within 4 days! I wasn’t there to pick it up so they held the car for me for two days until we arranged a time to meet. Super easy. Car was returned in great shape. Will be recommending ShipACarDirect in the future
The Best!
A completely smooth experience from start to finish. Even when my primary contact was on vacation, there was a back up person that reached out to me by phone to keep the communication going. They picked up and dropped off on agreed upon and dates and were very flexible to work with. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. If I need my car moved again, I would not hesitate to come back.

Don’t have any complaints. Lottie was so helpful and nice. Everything was explained up front and she handled everything for me. Even after a glitch when the first driver went to pick up the car, the car wouldn’t start so we had to start over. Lottie was still so kinds and professional.
