“I learned about SheCodes when someone in one of my WhatsApp groups shared a post about a coding workshop for women in development. Although I faced challenges such as limited study time, I requested deadline extensions for homework and, later, for the workshop itself. Despite these obstacles, I completed the Basic Workshop. The video lessons were easy to learn and engaging, making me glad I registered for the workshop. This experience provides a good foundation for me as I intend to explore the use of computer programming in teaching, learning, and research.

I’m very disappointed with SheCodes. After signing up, I discovered that my personal information was being used without my permission. On top of that, they provide misleading and false information to users. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

I have already documented the issues and, if the situation is not resolved promptly, I will contact a lawyer to take further legal action. I strongly advise others to be cautious before sharing any personal data with this platform.

I loved the workshop! The explanations are super clear, and the examples and exercises are very practical. You’re guaranteed to learn here. I'm discovering that I really enjoy programming, it's like math, full of logic, but also requires a proactive mindset. You need to explore and find things on your own, and what’s amazing is that they also teach you how to search and learn independently. I’m ready and excited to move on to the next course!

It's been really fun learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Each lesson has bite-sized learning modules, breaking up the heavy load of the information. At the end of each lesson, I feel like a winner. It's an uplifting journey and I look forward to the following lessons. Matt is a great teacher.

I highly recommend this course. I had never tried coding before and I really thought it wasn't something I would ever be able to do. However, the course very gradually builds your skills and through this, instils the confidence you need to try the next step in the process. I am only three weeks into the course and I can honestly say, I have developed a passion that I never knew I had.

The instructor was loud and clear throughout the lessons and the challenges really had a positive impact on me. I had to practically apply what I've learned and hopefully a review was awaiting after submission of the weekly project. The possibility of extending my deadline was just helpful to me in such a way that even when I got engaged in the course of the week that I could not complete my work on time, I didn't lose my work progress even after some days. The fact that I had to continue from where I left off made happier. Although I came back when I had forgotten some previous content, I made good use of the lesson recordings which enabled me get back on track. To me it was a wish come true because when I yearned to join the workshop but could not afford it, I was given an opportunity to study for free. Am thankful.

I have learnt a lot in the course of two weeks, and I have grown both confidence and skill. I love the teaching approach of making sure we become resourceful by engaging on Slack and the internet. I have found many communities dedicated to coders, which have allowed me to push myself past the required because others have had questions that I have, and so many different approaches have been provided.
