Sent the wrong table from Scuethyee. Now they won’t respond.

I ordered two tables from Scuethyee earlier this year (2025). The coffee table was custom. The sofa table was not.
I knew the order would take 2-3 months. The process of having the order delivered was challenging as Scuethyee asked if I wanted “white glove” delivery. I confirmed them that I did. They came back to me a few days later and suggested I needed to find someone to get that service. They could not tell me exactly when the delivery would happen so it was impossible to schedule white glove. The table arrived very well packaged and without any damage. They were in very large wooden crates. We were able to uncrate them and move them into our home. We had to pay someone to come and haul off the crates.
The tables are great and the coffee table is what we expected but the sofa table is the wrong size. I brought this to the attention of Scuethyee customer service. I sent pictures with the measurements and have emailed them 10+ times asking how we can remedy this. I want the correct size table as it is specific to my couch size. The first few emails received a response with questions but now they have stopped responding completely. I did see an email from Scuethyee with a $50 promotional coupon recently. I don’t think that was their remedy but I was surprised they would send that and ghost me on my multiple emails. These tables are expensive. I believe They are worth it but I would really like to have the one that I ordered. Very disappointed!

Excellent Customer Service- work with them before you buy

Unfortunately, I never took delivery of the item I ordered, but the customer service (In particular, Mariz) was responsive, attentive, helpful (many many emails and calls- she was very communicative!) and they very quickly issued a full and complete refund when we discovered the item wasn't going to work out.

Regarding the item, I would recommend that if you see something you like on the website, make sure to call them and inquire a little more deeply. Ask if it is made In-House at their production facility and if the photo on the website is of their actual product or of a product they are trying to reproduce.
I did not learn there was a difference until my item was ready for shipment and they sent me photos (Another huge PLUS to their Customer Service!!)

If you have that understanding, you will not be disappointed. For me, the item didn't match up to what I was expecting. They did offer a discount (about 20%), which I considered because I had waited so long and didn't want to start over. But it was a large dining room table and supposed to be the anchor and highlight piece to my entire dining/kitchen/living room. The finish just wasn't close enough to fit the colors and design I had already built around.

on shipping: expectation was 8 weeks, that turned into 12 weeks - really not surprising to me these days, same thing happened with Crate and Barrel - but I guess something else you should know if you haven't ordered furniture recently.

Extremely stressful and suspicious process—but the product did arrive, and it’s beautiful.

UPDATE: I can’t believe this is a real company. Despite all the red flags, we just received shipment, and it’s beautiful.

We even issued a chargeback after being convinced it was a scam (now withdrawn).

Extremely stressful and suspicious process—but the product did arrive, and it’s beautiful.

We ordered over $3,300 of furniture from Scuethyee in early April 2025. The products finally arrived in late June—much later than promised—and to our surprise, they’re stunning. Beautiful craftsmanship, premium materials, and excellent packaging. The furniture itself is 5-star quality.

But everything leading up to delivery raised massive red flags.

We received conflicting and vague updates from several different “support reps” (Stefani, Bret, Alen, Mariz), each telling a slightly different story about production delays, shipping timelines, or delivery arrangements. The tracking number provided never worked. They eventually sent us a WhatsApp number in India to coordinate final delivery—an odd move for a US-based company with a supposed Denver address. The support responses—while prompt—followed an oddly scripted pattern that mirrored many ecommerce scam operations we’ve seen before. The listed business address turned out to be a luxury condo building with no clear affiliation, and their U.S. phone numbers rotated frequently.

By mid-June, with still no delivery, we were convinced this was a scam and initiated a chargeback with our credit card provider.

Then, almost out of nowhere, we received a legitimate freight shipment—and it was our furniture. All boxes arrived, all items were accounted for, and the quality exceeded our expectations. We immediately reversed the chargeback.

So: Is this company a scam? No. But does it feel like one during the process? Absolutely. It’s an operational black box. They do not offer transparent shipping or fulfillment tracking. Their support erodes confidence rather than restoring it. It takes a leap of faith (and 2+ months of anxiety) to get to the finish line.

Final verdict:
• ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
• Product: 5 stars
• Customer experience: 1 star

If you’re willing to take the risk and endure weeks of cryptic updates, you might be rewarded with truly excellent furniture. But do so with eyes wide open, and set your expectations accordingly.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. I ordered the Hattie Hutch (300 lbs) and it was delivered in the crate directly on my sidewalk. Scythe does not offer delivery service into your home. Not even for an additional fee. I needed to uncreate it and hire people myself. I’ve never dealt with a company that leaves your product on the sidewalk. Will never use Schthee again.

Throughout this process, we made several attempts to coordinate with you and support the delivery in the best way possible. As shared in our previous message, we offered an optional $200 curbside upgrade service, which includes unloading to your door or garage, though not inside the home. This is a common practice for oversized items like the 300 lb Hattie Hutch.

We currently do not offer in-home or "white glove" delivery because third-party carriers who provide these services have, in some past cases, caused damage to products during handling or uncrating—and declined to take responsibility. In order to ensure the safety of furniture transportation, unfortunately, we did not choose to provide this option. We are not shirking responsibility. It is mainly because furniture is large and heavy, which makes it difficult to transport. In addition, our materials and workmanship also lead to high production costs, but our products are very affordable. If the furniture is damaged, the subsequent costs after production will be very high. We strive to strike a balance between cost and service while minimizing the risks for our customers.

That said, we offer you a local white glove service provider who you can contact to move your furniture, which I believe is the best solution.

Scuethyee is ligit

I was somewhat concerned about whether Scuethyee was ligit, but went ahead and ordered a Barcelona chair from them after reading reviews on Trustpilot. They do not have the product in stock; it ships from Beijing. Tracking the chair was not easy. The Shop app did not work, but I found a site that was in Chinese and was able to translate it on translate.google. I was quite worried that my chair would not arrive in time as we were leaving for a couple of months. But working with Stefani in customer service took much of the pressure off. My chair arrived yesterday, about 3 weeks after I ordered it! It came via USPS and you have to be home to sign for it. It arrived in a cube-shaped box about 36" on each side, every inch covered in packing tape. We had to unwrap it on the front porch; it wouldn't go through the front door. The chair was very well wrapped and in good condition. The only negative is that the cushions are only leather on top. I specifically asked and was told they were leather on all sides. They are not. The chair has a slight chemical odor from the fake leather sides and back, but I think it will disappear quickly. All in all, Scuethyee is ligit, I am happy with my chair which I got at a good price, and it arrived before I left town.

Thank you for liking our chairs. I am sorry that I gave you the wrong information. Our chairs do use real cowhide on the seat cushions, and artificial leather on the sides and back. This is because of the design process. Since real cowhide is very thick, if we use cowhide, it is difficult for us to wrap the seat cushions together, which also affects the appearance. Due to the compromise of the appearance design, we use cowhide and artificial leather.

For single chairs, we did not sell the white Barcelona chair without footrest before. Due to the needs of some customers, we put it on the shelves, but we need to ship it from our manufacturer, which also slows down our delivery cycle. Now we have removed the products that we do not have in stock. Therefore, for the products that can be purchased, we will send them from the United States, and the delivery cycle is 4-7 days.

Once production was nearing completion, you requested a refund due to concerns about the delivery time. While we explained the situation in detail, we honored your request and processed the refund the very next day, as per your suggestion to contact your card company.

However, you later informed us that your original bank account had been closed, and you requested an alternative refund method. I don’t quite understand the situation regarding your closed bank account. Normally, once a refund is issued, it should automatically return to the account from which the payment was made. Please note, we had already transferred the refund to the account you initially provided, and there is no obligation for us to issue a second refund.

We have always considered the customer’s experience and satisfaction. We produced the product as per your request, but you ultimately chose to decline the order. Although we are disappointed, we have consistently worked with you and have not charged any additional refund fees, unlike some other companies, despite the loss we incurred on this order. We hope you can understand we cannot issue a refund twice for a single order.

We understand this may have caused frustration, but we have followed all proper procedures. Our recommendation is to contact your bank to resolve the issue and recover the funds. We trust that this matter can be resolved promptly.

Best customer service

I've shopped with this company before and they're always trustworthy. I bought four Swivel Counter Stool, and one had a defect. I contacted their customer service and they responded quickly, promising to send me a new one. True to their word, it's already arrived! Their after-sales service is easy and fast.
