Dealing with RSA is a nightmare. To get a test you need to wait months, and a re-test is no better. They only accept foreign licenses from a limited number of countries while other EU countries accept much more countries (that's while EU countries accept each others' licenses! Hypocritical system!). Pass rates across the country are around 50% (not to mention in Dublin they are mostly around 40%). You keep getting rejected just to overwork this inefficient system even more. Go and come back in 2 months and the queues will never drain, it's the same all over again. As an experienced driver the only reason I have to deal with this horrible system is that they don't accept my foreign license, and they say "we can't help it" when confronted about their inefficiencies. You can, you don't care enough to do anything about it. Apathetic as always.
The roads can have no signs and if you make a mistake because of a lack of clear signage on the road, it's YOUR fault, RSA does not want to ever accept any fault on their side.
The learner system is a disaster for people who have moved to Ireland, because it is based on having a family who can provide you with a car, otherwise it is ten times as difficult!

Where do I start? Any questions or suggestion to the RSA, in particular their driver education unit go unanswered. The RSA do not follow the law of the land, nor E.U. directives. Hardly an organisation that drivers have any confidence in let alone respect. It is there merely to give failed bureaucrats a job until retirement.
