A major renovation to an 18th Century Purbeck stone house, this project began in August '25 to replace an old extension which was slowly subsiding away from the main house.

As initial demolition of the old extension commenced, it soon became apparent that a large part of the house was structurally unsound, including the stone roof and the (lack of) foundations.

This was no easy project; from problems with restricted site access to the house being surrounded by mature trees in an area of heavy clay subsoil. Nevertheless, Rooster Construction had a very proactive approach to problem solving throughout the project. Communication was key to success and options were discussed in a very collaborative and transparent way with solutions provided in clear detail at every stage, keeping in mind to conserve the original house as much as possible and an eye on the budget.

Each phase of the work was meticulously carried out using high quality materials, with a "belt-and-braces" approach to assuring the new infrastructure of the house. The foundation for the new extension had to be increased to 2 meters depth, the main house walls required extensive reinforcement (due to many old cracks) and full under-pinning. A whole new roof was constructed with steel ridge-beams at the core and an innovative new stone tile roofing system.

II was living on the site during the whole build and observed a great team of professionals working seamlessly well together, with many of the disciplines being at the core of the group and an excellent relationship with their suppliers, thus minimising delays and supply issues.

The project evolved during the process with a few additions not originally planned, I found the team very flexible in providing solutions. This resulted in an amazing transformation and I now have a lovely fully functional, well insulated new home that will last for generations to come. I would strongly recommend Rooster Construction to anyone embarking on a building project (small or large).

We were delighted to welcome Jani and the team back for phase 2 of our bungalow re-modelling. Our extension was beautifully crafted and built with great skill and with genuine dedication to our needs and wants. So this time it was a guest room in the garage. As always, Jani and the lads turned up early one Thursday morning and by the end of week 2 we had our room! Jani has been back to add some finishing touches and by the end of week 3 we have another wonderful addition to our home! I cannot thank you all enough for your hard work and commitment to quality and detail. You are fantastic!

They are such a friendly team and so easy to chat too.
Often they suggest ideas of better ways of doing things and these are the things that make them stand out as they give you that lovely finishing touch at the end.
We will continue to use Roosters with further projects as the trust and friendliness is there every time.
The team are incredibly hardworking, transparent with pricing and complete everything to a high standard without taking shortcuts

We’ve had experiences where Builders are offsite for weeks and then come on site again whereas Roosters were on site from start to finish for the main project. All snags were addressed and they do their upmost to make sure at every stage we’re happy.
They provide alternative suggestions where they see potential problems. Such as, they recognised we would have storage issues in the future and suggested ways to create more. Which we followed and so glad we did.
This project involved full demolition and rebuilding a new property. Being our first and managing the project ourselves, Florinda not only helped us every step of the way but took on a lot of the responsibility herself in what is extremely complex when dealing with managing timings, visits, forms etc.
Jani,Florinda, Blendi, John and the others who were involved are a real pleasure to have on site, they built our dream house and for anyone considering using Rooster construction in the future will not be disappointed.

Do not trust Rooster Construction, they have been terrible to deal with. Breaching contracts they had agreed to leaving us out of pocket. Very dishonest director. You have been warned!

Rooster Construction rebuilt my second floor and loft while my family and I, along with our babies, lived downstairs…a colossal job that was executed to perfection and in record time. Everything was bespoke, and every time I had a new idea or needed a change, they handled it without issue, providing beautiful solutions and consultations for free. These guys are magicians, and their prices are very competitive, I would have definitely paid double with other companies. I would not hesitate to hire them for my next project. They are builders, designers, and engineers all at once. The owner is a different species…exceptionally talented and a delight to work with.

Rooster Construction have done several jobs for us totalling thousands of pounds and every time they have exceeded our expectations. Jani, is absolutely incredible. One of the most talented people we have ever had the pleasure to meet. His creativity, attention to detail and absolute skill is nothing short of genius. Florinda, who works in partnership with him, is equally as impressive. She brings complimentary insights to ensure any project is personalised and meets both aesthetic and practical requirements. Co-workers Alex and Simon are also fantastic. The entire team are hard-working, polite, considerate and friendly with a focused work ethic. I would recommend Rooster Construction 1 million times over. Simply impressive, honest and reliable....a rare find in our modern world.
