I purchased a Roomba 980, iRobot's top-of-the-line model at the time for nearly C$1,000. It worked flawlessly for years. Last month, without any prior notice to customers, iRobot quietly discontinued cloud services for the 900 series, rendering the app, scheduling, and all smart features permanently non-functional. The device can now only be started manually via the Clean button.
What is particularly troubling is that iRobot's own support staff were unaware of this change, it was only through my own research into error codes on iRobot's website that the issue was identified and confirmed.
When I raised this with iRobot's Escalation Management Team, the response was dismissive. I was told a replacement would not be provided, and, in their own words, "even if we did, we would replace it with the same model, so it won't connect anyways." I was then wished "the best moving forward."
This is a company that sold a premium connected device, deliberately withdrew the connectivity that defined it, failed to notify its customers. When pushed back on, they simply closed the door.
If you are considering purchasing an iRobot product, be aware that the smart features you are paying a premium for can be unilaterally removed at any time, with no compensation and no notice. Buy accordingly.
Roomba Mini - Frustrating setup
A very frustrating initial setup. This is not for people who cannot setup a dedicated WiFi SSIDs for it.
Virtually all modern devices including IoT (Internet of things), are able to associate with dual 2.4/5GHz WiFi band steering WiFi with WPA2/3. The Roomba Mini will not (this was confirmed when support eventually emailed me back). If the perspective buyer uses, for example, a Sky router - you are out of luck. I was fortunate that my APs allow multiple SSIDs and I could setup a dedicated SSID - 2.4GHz, WPA2 ONLY.
I work in IT - do not rely on support to guide you through setting up a WiFi router.
Just also had a frustrating time with first line support - Mini would not resume intensive cleaning after charging properly - no idea.
Cannot setup new routine on iPhone app - have to use an iPad.
It does work reasonably well, just extremely poorly executed with an obvious lack of user acceptance testing.
Dont buy
Dont buy. The vaccum is programmed to die after 2years. Errorcode 11. Battery replacement

Muy malo el robot no he conseguido usarlo más de dos veces seguidas, se desconfigura, tengo que borrarlo todo y volver desde el principio así todos los días estoy harto y el servicio técnico tarda días en contestar por correo sin darme solución
Spent quite a bit of money on this product and it constantly gets stuck, doesn’t know where it is, phone support who say they can get it fixed and have previously sent out a new device, it’s not broken, just bad, buggy software

Se esistesse un premio per il peggior acquisto della mia vita, questo robot lo vincerebbe senza nemmeno bisogno di concorrenti. Il Roomba non è un elettrodomestico: è un esperimento fallito di frustrazione domestica. Non pulisce, non aspira, vaga per casa come se stesse cercando un senso alla sua esistenza, urtando muri e mobili con una determinazione quasi comica. Più che un robot intelligente, sembra un giocattolo difettoso dimenticato in un angolo.
La qualità dei materiali è imbarazzante: plastiche cheap, componenti che danno l’impressione di rompersi solo a guardarli, e una manutenzione che richiede più tempo di quanto ne risparmi. Dopo pochi utilizzi, le prestazioni calano drasticamente, come se anche lui avesse deciso di arrendersi.
Ma il vero capolavoro del disastro è il servizio post-vendita. Contattare l’assistenza è come lanciare un messaggio in una bottiglia e aspettare una risposta che non arriverà mai. Quando finalmente qualcuno risponde, lo fa con un mix di incompetenza e totale disinteresse. Nessuna soluzione concreta, solo risposte vaghe, tempi di attesa infiniti e una capacità sorprendente di scaricare ogni responsabilità sul cliente.
Il call center merita una menzione a parte: operatori impreparati, script ripetuti a pappagallo e zero empatia. Sembra quasi che il loro obiettivo sia farti perdere la pazienza fino a rinunciare.
In sintesi: un prodotto inutile accompagnato da un servizio clienti ancora peggiore. Se l’idea era semplificare la vita, il risultato è esattamente l’opposto. Evitatelo come evitereste un buco nero: una volta entrati, non ne uscite più.

Pessimo soldi buttati dopo pochi mesi ha iniziato ad avere problemi e l ho mandato in assistenza.....poi dopo un anno e mezzo ha iniziato ad avere problemi di batteria non caricava più ...contatto l assistenza e la batteria non rientra risultato ho buttato soldi e lo stesso problema l ha riscontrato mia sorella che ha lo stesso prodotto.

We spent £350 on a Roomba and it is hopeless. It won’t work properly as it says that there are objects in its way when there aren’t any.
Try claiming on your warranty and you’ll see how effective their customer service team are at treating you like an idiot, fobbing you off and taking over a week to respond.

Compré una Roomba Combo 405 en abril de 2025 y a día de hoy hace más de 15 días que no funciona y me está resultando imposible hablar con el servicio técnico.
Si lo haces a través de la plataforma al final te dicen que tienes que hablar con un agente y si llamas al teléfono una grabación te dice que puede tardar 30 minutos..... transcurrido ese tiempo tampoco hay respuesta....te dan la opción de que te llame el agente en cuanto pueda.....3 toques y lógicamente no da tiempo a cogerlo... Y vuelta a empezar

Lavaggio dei pavimenti però un disastro, detersivo originale tutto perfetto ma lei lascia una scia di gocce che una volta asciugate si trasformano in macchie molto visibili, mi sono già pentita, tanto valeva spendere meno e comprare solo aspira pavimenti

Segunda vez que se rompe (no carga) aun estando en garantía. El servicio técnico es nefasto, horas de espera al teléfono. Me solicitaron por correo electrónico fotos del ticket de compra y del robot; las envié de inmediato y, aun así, seguimos sin recibir ninguna respuesta.
Bad decision
I purchased a Roomba and had nothing but problems.
There was only 1 time when the unit charged to 100%. The Roomba service was the absolute worse to deal with. They had no answers and when contacting them everyone had a different answer. My robot would not hold a charge and this was only 2 months old. Roomba suggested everything under the Sun and after trying all their suggestions still did not charge to 100%.
It looked like the battery was bad and they wanted me to pay for a new battery in a new robot. I think this was on sale and was sitting around and depleted the battery so it would not charge to 100%.
I would NOT recommend buying a Roomba to anyone !
I love having a robot vac but not this one…
I love having a robot vac but this one sucks. It’s very stupid, doesn’t finish the room, and today all of a sudden it won’t turn off!!! Been waiting to have my help call answered for 20 minutes.
Do not Buy!!
Do not Buy!!! This may be a practice close to a scam — meaning selling a product without providing any real after-sales or warranty support. I bought my device 10 months ago and the docking station has already stopped working. There is absolutely no way to contact customer care or support — none of the phone numbers or email addresses work, and I cannot reach anyone in any way.!
I'll never buy a roomba again
The app is a huge crap that grows in every update and the performance of the vacuum cleaner gets worse everytime. It is supposed to save time but it seems it's me who needs to spend my time solving problems with it. I don't recommend this brand at all.
Great customer service
The first roomba we purchased worked well for several months, it was such a time saver as I didn't have to vacuum. We have three dogs so there is a lot of fur. Then it stopped emptying into the bin, and eventually stopped working altogether. I wrote to roomba and they sent a new robot. Unfortunately it wouldn't empty either so we realized it was a dock issue.
Roomba then sent a new upgraded system that has been working great.
It did take some time to finally have a fully functioning unit again, but so far very pleased with the customer service.
Una pesadilla el Servicio técnico de Roomba Robot
Servicio técnico de Roomba Robot: directamente no te atienden, una pérdida de tiempo entre correos electrónicos de ida y vuelta, solo con un fin, marear la perdiz y no conseguir nada en limpio. Tenpasan de un departamento a otro, según dicen, para obtener las mismas respuestas sin ningún logro. Es sencillo cuando un electrodoméstico, en este caso, es una Roomba Combo Essential, con fecha d compra de 2- Febrero-2025 y no funciona correctamente quieres una solución y no que te tomen el pelo sin tomar ninguna medida de ningún tipo. Se me ocurre que directamente podrían decir q pasan de todo y que te compres otro Robot; por supuesto, no recomiendo esta marca en concreto, de ninguna manera ya que la actitud es lamentable, penosa e inexistente.
Nunca más en casa y voz populi, nos plantearemos hacer una compra de esta engañosa empresa!
