Where do I begin…?

I ordered a RetroBoss in October last year (2024) and haven’t looked back. I wanted to leave my review for a few months so I could give a fair and rounded analysis.

I purchased x2 Controllers, Keyboard with Mouse and x1 Wiimote and Sensor Bar along with the RetroBoss itself.
I asked if they could possibly pop a few games on for me (x3 games), which weren’t showing on the games list, and they said no problem. My order arrived in 3 days time, well packaged, safe and sound.

The Console
The amount of games on this thing is incredible, but even more astounding is the care that has been put into the collation of each game. They haven’t just dumped the games on the system, and announced 35 thousand + games (38 thousand plus currently, with the latest update, which is free to download at no extra cost!!!), they have made sure there are no repeated and unnecessary roms (hacks, duplicates & foreign versions), and as a result, the front end is tidy and a joy to peruse (I have literally spent hours trawling through them, in a nostalgic daydream, sad, I know, haha).
It’s pretty easy to add games to the RetroBoss, so you’ll probably want to purchase the keyboard if that’s the case.

The Systems
All of the systems the RetroBoss includes run effortlessly, right up to, including and beyond the PS2. The Wii runs brilliantly, as does the WiiU, the GameCube has a couple of games that can be a little hinky, but I’m sure you can play with the settings to put that right (ask the RetroBoss guys, they’re very helpful). All of the others seem to be pretty much flawless.

Joypads
The Controllers are very much of the XBOX ilk. Very responsive and comfortable in hand. The connection never drops, so you can play continuously without interruption.

Wii Accessories
The Wiimote & Sensor Bar is a necessity to play those games that require it, and is a lot of fun, but there are a lot of games on the Wii, that the normal controller will be the only requirement needed. Also, if you haven’t purchased a Sinden Lightgun (you should, it’s awesome), the Wiimote & Sensorbar works quite well. You can also pick up a Nunchuck & Zapper on Amazon for about £10 each, these are also great, and add that original dimension to gameplay.

Keyboard
The Keyboard and Mouse are needed if you want to play the computer games from my childhood (Zx Spectrum, Commodore Vic 20, Commodore 64 etc), if you’re not interested in these, you’re probably not gonna need ‘em.

Now to the best part of purchasing from this company…
The Customer Service
They are phenomenal, their customer service is absolutely outstanding!!! They are so helpful, whether on the forums or direct contact with you via email.
I purchased a Wi-Fi USB Adapter for £14.99, in order to hook up to the internet and scape game info. They contacted me, to tell inform me I may not actually need it. They helpfully sent me a detailed email, along with a photo, showing me what to look for, and a link to Amazon, for a much more cost effective solution, saving me £12 and then immediately refunding me the price of the adapter, HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

A totally awesome company, who are incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and a very genuine pleasure to do business with.

What a fantastic product. I have owned retro consoles in the past but nowhere near the quality of this product. Arrived quickly and easy to setup. Only played a few of the games so far, and takes me back to my youth And if you have any problems with any of the games there is always a prompt answer from the support group. Lots of different options on purchase be it keyboard , mouse or wiimote and sensor bar to use on the different systems. Have just ordered a Light Gun to play the shooter games

Delivered super quick and wow, what an amazing little console. I've had smaller cheap ones in the past that are OK for SNES and older but struggle as soon as it comes to anything from the PS1/N64 onwards. But not this! N64, PS1, PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube and more absolutely flawlessly. Can't turn it off.

What an amazing console. Got one for Christmas. Easy to set up, all working and the choice of games is outstanding. They all run so well, a million miles away from the cheaper one I bought last year. Highly highly recommended.

Classic games, that play well and save your progress! Massively overwhelming when you first start, purely due to the amount of games on there, thousands to choose from that all run just like the old days. Both controllers now up and running. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase if any help is needed the guys at Retropia are really helpful and won’t keep you waiting. 5 star!

Retropia never cease to amaze me.

I bought my RetroBoss roughly 2/3 years ago, and it has been one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time.

Not only that, but I’ve had a few issues and queries over the years regarding various things - they have always been on hand instantly to help me, even though they’re no longer making any money off me.

I recommend to everyone I know who is into retro gaming, because as an overall experience - no one can touch these guys. Thanks so much.

I received my Retroboss two weeks ago, and I wanted to write a review earlier, but I haven’t been able to tear myself away from it for long enough, it’s that good. This is a very professional product that looks and plays amazingly well, and is worth every penny. I looked at a number of other products but I decided this was the one I wanted, and I feel I couldn’t have made a better decision. It’s great to play games from my youth and remember what is was like when games were actually games to be enjoyed. The company clearly care about the product they are supplying, and their customer service is excellent. In my excitement when ordering a unit, I mistakenly added an extra keyboard and mouse. Retropia quickly got in touch to make sure I really did want an extra unit as the Retroboss already came with one. I apologised for my mistake and they immediately refunded the extra cost. As a further recommendation, after a friend came round for a demo, they immediately ordered one. If you want to play retro games, I don’t think you can go any better than getting a Retroboss. I’m now looking forward to many many gaming hours to come on this.

After looking at different options for a retro gaming fix I stumbled upon Retropia's site, that was the moment I was glad that I didn't waste my money on the cheap options on sites like Amazon or Ebay.
I've had the Retroboss for around 2 months and i'm still only a tiny percentage into the huge amount of games on this machine, also if you can't find a specific game the team at Retropia will try and include it for you or you are able to download and install games yourself using the step by step instructions provided on the website.
My next purchase are a couple of Sinden light guns so myself and the wife can blast our way through the many light gun games included.
This is one of the best things I have bought for a few years and urge anyone to keep away from the cheap options, buy off Retropia and have many years in Retro gaming heaven.

I can’t say enough good things about the retro boss! I don’t often leave reviews for purchases but having been slightly ripped off by previously buying a retro console that was nowhere near as good as advertised, I know there are loads of really bad products out there being advertised on social media, and I feel like whatever little I can do to help people find something really good might be helpful. Every system and game I’ve tried so far has worked really well and has run smoothly with no issues. The user interface is great and looks awesome; I especially like that you get a little preview video for most games you move the cursor over, which has led me to discover a few new favorites that I hadn’t previously heard of and might have scrolled past otherwise. There’s so much here to explore and the console includes some more obscure stuff which is really fun (including games that weren’t released here, fan-made BOR and MUGEN games, simulated pinball tables, the list goes on). I’ve owned retro systems before which have been fun but this just feels like a big step above everything I’ve owned before. I’ve been playing daily for a few weeks now and so far I haven’t experienced any of the annoying glitches and other issues that you sometimes get with other systems. There’s really nothing bad to say about this system, I just love it.

Once again these wonderful people came to my rescue, had issues with games not playing on one system, more than likely my fault but emailed them and let them know and they advised me to send back and they would upgrade it and free of charge. Also requested some extra games for the PS2 console and they have added them for me. Absolute legends these people, thank you so much for all the continued support and help and i will never fault this company or product. And would recommend them 1000% and for the price probably the best on the market. Thank you so much once again. I will be spreading the word.

Bought a Retroboss last week after looking at it on the website for weeks 😁 What can I say this thing has exceeded my expectations and more! Haven’t been off it for the last two days and I think my weekend will consist of the same. I chose the stickerbomb vinyl and it looks epic 😍. Customer service is brilliant and I can’t thank you guys enough! Thankyou very much Retropia! This thing is packed with enough games to last you a lifetime and it’s bringing back so many childhood memories 😁

I cannot even begin to describe how good both the service and the product from this company are. It simply - just works, as it should, every time. It is perfect. I literally wouldn’t change a thing. If anyone is in the fence, buy one. I can pretty much guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
