In the last year I have ordered numerous things from RH (lamps, linens, side table, etc). I do not have customer service "people" issues with RH ( hence the 2 stars). It is their products I take issu... Zobacz więcej

Customer service is excellent as are their products
We have ordered a lot of furniture over the past 6 months from both Restoration Hardware. They have been fantastic in terms of delivery, responsiveness, and professionalism. They value their customers and They even allowed us to return a piece of furniture that was not returnable. There was nothing wrong with the furniture. We had just made an error in the sizing. They couldn't have been nicer.
As of August 1 No More Comenity or RH Credit Cards
As of August 1, 2022 I just learned that Restoration Hardware has discontinued its RH Credit Card program. Restoration Hardware is switching over to TD BANK.
That did not stop Comenity Bank billing me almost $300 for charges I never incurred! The last charges for goods at Restoration Hardware were in 2020! I called customer service of Comenity and Restoration Hardware who were kind enough to remove these spurious charges. CAVEAT EMPTOR: check your statements!! I received a bill dated 8/4/2022 seeking payment by 8/24/2022. When I did not pay as requested, they put me in arrears for charges I never incurred!!!! Fraud!! As a lawyer, to this community of consumers, you should all be aware of this shameful activity.
I have never seen customer service like…
I have never seen customer service like this before! I bought sheets that were very expensive and when I got them home I washed them with a tide pod. The tide pod never fully dissolved and it ruined my sheets. I called Tide they were no help! So I called RH and they offered to send me a brand new set of sheets! I told him it wasn’t their fault but they said that’s OK will take care of it!!!
From lifestyle brand, to Chinese reseller, to Debtor, RH's main product is credit
If you really want to tear into this Chinese import problem, read my review on Timothy Oulton. This will be more about the erosion of the RH brand, and its pivot to credit as its main product:
There is a gorgeous showroom in Nashvilles Green Hills, or what is rapidly becoming NashAngeles. We ordered a 10ft sofa for $7k - no mean feat in the middle of a pandemic and the doorstep of a recession.
Delivery came 2 months later. We watched the drivers throw our Italian Brompton leather cushions on the ground. We watched them rip the leather right off the top of the backrest trying to wedge it up the stairs. And we watched our 2 months of excitement go down the toilet.
The real problem here is false advertising and misdirection, and a loss of the original trueline of the brand. Here are the brunch prices for the RH cafe in Green Hills (Tenesse):
RH SCRAMBLE* Farm Eggs, Crème Fraîche, Avocado, Chives 22
Black Winter Truffles Add: 25
THICK CUT PORK BELLY BACON Maple Glazed, Black Pepper 14
SMOKED SALMON* Cucumber, Pickled Onion, Cream Cheese, Charred Sourdough 28
AVOCADO TOAST Charred Sourdough, Della Terra Aged Balsamic 20
Thats $20 for eggs. $20 for toast, y'all. Meanwhile, in side the showroom, over 40% of the products are manufactured in China, and they have had serious toxicity claims leveled at them.
To offset this brand tarnishing, Restoration Hardware rebranded to RH. After the Trump administration raised tariffs on imports from China, a definitive action we desperately needed to restore manufacturing in the US, RH avoided losing money during the US-China trade war by Boost prices, renegotiate with suppliers and make furniture outside of China. Where, they wont say, but the answer likely rhymes with Taiwan, and any other third world nation that is willing to tape their employees eyelids open.
The company said its strategy is paying off: The high-end home retailer company reported $598 million in revenue the last quarter of 2019, which was above analysts’ expectations. RH (RH)’s stock soared 27% in premarket trading.
So how is all this possible? How is RH able to trade on its bad name, and manufacture inferior goods at increasingly inflated prices? Its simple: their brand strategy is completely reliant on FOMO, a first-come-first-serve culture, targeting the wealthiest neighborhoods in America, and introducing expanded credit services: the Grey Card, issued by Comenity Bank, with 26.49%, APRs and famously bad customer service. All this after a $150 (up from $99) annual membership fee to access sales.
In summation: RH's model has become much like BMWs model, and every other luxury goods company: they have become creditors first, and manufacturers second. The product has gone to hell, and only a tiny fraction of loyal customers comprise the vat majority of its earnings. These loyal customers are adept at overlooking WHERE their furniture is coming from, and WHY is costs as much as it does, simply because they can, and if you have to ask how much something costs, you cant afford it. Well, I can afford it. And...I don't want it. From China to the 3rd party delivery system, there is nothing romantic about his brand. Its all a farce, right down to the avocado toast. RH's main product is no longer furniture or lifestyle. It's credit.
RH remember this: customer loyalty is more easily lost than it is earned, and you haven't done anything lately to earn it.
PS: Check your credit card APRs right now - the federal government just raised them across the board, regardless of the bank.
Don’t Get It Wet!!!
We have purchased Restoration Hardware items over the years. Everything except the sheets has had an issue. The coffee table we purchased that was reclaimed wood loses its stain if you attempt to wipe it down and for the sake of time I will just mention the furniture bed set we bought in 2019. We finally decided to bite the bullet and treat ourselves to a Restoration Hardware bedroom furniture set! When it arrived it was light weight and felt cheap. The only heaviness was in the bottom due to the feet, not in the quality. It was a major disappointment, but we lived with them. Last month was the first time I had spilled any liquid on my nightstand. Immediately, I wiped up the spill. A few days later, I noticed that the very top of my nightstand was domed. I bent down and realized that the top layers of wood on top had literally popped up, ripping the paint off of the seem and permanently rising up 1/4 inch. We have attempted hammering it back down with a rubber mallet, but to no avail. This past weekend we went out and bought a BEAUTIFUL antique furniture set for $1300 to replace this. Not sure what will do with it since one of the pieces is permanently damaged. Terrible quality, terrible prices. Completely unfair to hard working people out there who want something extra special in their home & buy this unaware.
Arrogant and rude in Cincinnati
Cincinnati store is filled with Arrogant snobs lead by A. Krall who is an associate leader at the store. Its clear they are trained to treat you like you are homeless if you spend under $10,000.00. I dealt with A.Krall on a $2000 set of curtains and she wouldn't even return a phone call. We went to the store and she wouldn't even wait on us to answer our questions.
HORRIBLE experience
Poor experience - months long debacle where corporate got involved- large order promised to be bundled was not- charges made piecemeal- thought it was being managed- NO!!! Day of delivery I’m sitting in an empty house with no call of ETA - driver not here- no word of when they’ll arrive- on hold customer “service” (????) for EVER
Go elsewhere- the hours spent chasing down the order/ multiple charges/ lack of information and now delivery day with a corporate “managed” orderly wasting a Saturday when trying to move
Horrible!!!!!
Except for Sergio and Diego the delivery drivers who, when they arrived, were excellent
A mixed bag
I find them a little erratic. Sometimes their service is good and at other times not so much. I stick with them as they have some products you can’t get elsewhere.
RH needs quality makeover.
I won't buy anything from this company again. The quality just isn't there. DON'T EVER BUY PAINT ONLINE FROM THESE PEOPLE! Just to open the paint, you have to view an online video.
Their customer service is hauty, and and there is never any follow up on returns. Those big beautiful catalogs, are just showy temptations. The actual products are poor quality.
These people have tapped into a great…
These people have tapped into a great idea. Excellent quality at this price range, great designs, and their service has been very good as well. There were damages to the one item that we had shipped but the company wasn't unreasonable about it, apologised and shipped a replacement. Can't ask much more than that.
