I don’t remember the representative’s…

I don’t remember the representative’s name. He did tell me in the the beginning of the phone call. I was a little upset about my bill. He kept his composure. He was very patient. He listened to the last call about my bill and confirm that it was not paid. He also informed me that once my bill is paid that the rental office will get their confirmation that it was paid. He also informed me that once my bill is paid. To confirm with the representative that I will get a confirmation letter sent to my rental office. I would definitely recommend Home body rentals insurance to my friends and family. Thank you services.

Worth relying on them

The agent in charge of my policy cancellation and updating a new one was great. He offered an option to decide what to do, gave great information to trust them, and answered my questions gently. He also repeated my important information to make sure if it is correct, which made me relieved. Thank you so much for giving me such a great experience with Homebody.

Be sure to call

The company makes you call them after you upload your insurance so they can approve it. They will also charge you regardless if you upload it on time. They also have extremely rude customer service agents that will not answer questions and just hang up on you.

Today was great. I spoke with Mickelle, and she was so nice. I hope I spelled her name correctly, but it's on a recorded line, on July 1, 2025, at about 9:20 am central time. She was so nice and patient.

Fine print bad actors

Had renters insurance with them for 2 years and my e-bike got stolen and they pulled out the fine print declining my coverage saying it’s a “self propelled vehicle” they were not helpful and not following laws when signing up for insurance disclosing what is and is not covered.

If you enjoy being gaslit over $60 in…

If you enjoy being gaslit over $60 in fake fees, Homebody’s email support team is for you. I was charged multiple noncompliance fees despite having active, valid renters insurance uploaded on time, with the correct address — including the required PO Box.

Instead of resolving the issue, email support bounced me around with shifting excuses, vague responses, and zero accountability. They repeatedly ignored what I already provided, wasted my time, and dragged things out over something they could’ve fixed in minutes.

The only reason this didn’t escalate further is because I finally got on the phone with a rep who immediately understood the issue and fixed it. They were helpful, competent, and professional — everything the email support team wasn’t.

Homebody needs to seriously rethink how they handle these situations, because right now it feels predatory. One good rep shouldn’t be the only thing standing between customers and unnecessary charges.

The insurance policy I was forced to…

The insurance policy I was forced to get for an apartment was to protect the owner and there for should of been paid by the owner. When renting the apartment they lead you to believe they are to protect the renter and require you to get homebody.com insurance policy. My home was destroyed Oct 2024 by hurricane Helene and Milton. I've asked several times for them to cancel the policy and they say they will and then charge you again. It's May 2025 they owe me a reimbursement and to go honor my request to stop chewing the account. I will have to have the bank so this for me and I worry they will try to continue billing me so I have started making request by email.

Doesn’t cover the only things that people can actually steal.

This company knows how to protect their losses by not covering anything of value that will actually get stolen. They wouldn’t even cover an e-bike. Blows my mind. Why am I even paying for insurance? They know that no fires or natural disasters are gonna happen in a downtown area. So what am I actually paying for? Just another piece of shit insurance scam like all the others.

Avoid, if possible

The apartment complex I live in contracts with Homebody to do insurance verification. They send notices and bills that look like phishing emails (so end up in spam folders) and then charge penalties when there's no response. Additionally, they claim to be integrated into the portal we use (where all important messages are sent); however, none of the messages they send are present there. Based upon their responses to follow up messages, I believe they do this intentionally to generate more income.
