Long-standing customer, but sadly I've lost confidence
I’ve been a customer of A&H International for well over 10 years, which makes writing this review particularly disappointing.
I recently purchased a referee shirt costing almost £70. The first arrived with what appeared to be scorch damage from the badge application. A&H replaced it, but the replacement was worn once, washed once at 30°C, and the badge started coming away from the shirt.
To their credit, Matt, on of the co-owners, contacted me personally via WhatsApp and then called to apologise. He offered a full refund provided both shirts were returned. Unfortunately, the prepaid returns label supplied could not be accepted at the Post Office, meaning I had to pay the return postage myself. This was subsequently refunded, so ultimately I was not left out of pocket.
My disappointment is therefore less about how the complaint was eventually handled — Matt was apologetic and did resolve it — and more about what I feel has happened to the brand.
Having used A&H for more than a decade, I no longer feel the quality or value represents the prices being charged. Looking across their range, many items now seem expensive compared with equivalent products available from other referee retailers.
A&H has always presented itself as being "for referees", and that was one of the reasons I supported them for so long. Sadly, my recent experiences have left me feeling that the emphasis is increasingly on profit before referees.
I appreciate that businesses need to make money, and I also appreciate Matt taking personal responsibility for resolving my complaint. However, after more than 10 years as a customer, this experience has unfortunately left me with very little confidence in the brand and I will now be looking elsewhere for my referee kit.

As I said when we spoke, I’m genuinely sorry that we let you down on this occasion. Receiving one shirt with an issue was disappointing enough, but for the replacement to then develop a problem after its first wash simply wasn’t good enough.
The issue with the prepaid returns label also caused further inconvenience. Royal Mail have since accepted that this was an issue with their systems, rather than with the label we provided. Although we refunded the postage you had to pay, I’m sorry that this added another frustration to an already disappointing experience.
What is particularly disappointing for me is that, after supporting us for such a long time, this experience has left you with so little confidence in A&H and what we do. We genuinely care about the refereeing community and try to give something back beyond simply selling kit and equipment, whether that is through our weekly Laws of the Game quizzes, the monthly A&H Mastermind sessions, or the other referee development initiatives we support.
That doesn’t change the fact that on this occasion the products and overall experience fell below the standard you were entitled to expect from us, and I’m sorry for that.
I really do appreciate your custom over the years, as well as the fair way you have acknowledged how the complaint was ultimately handled.
If you do decide to order from us again, please contact me directly beforehand. I’d be very happy to personally look after the order from start to finish.

Rectified error on the delivery address…
I made an error on the delivery address on my original order and the kit was returned to A&H. They quickly resolved the issue and delivered my order without any additional charge. They were helpful and responded quickly throughout. The kit also arrived and is great quality.
