Honestly, my experience was very frustrating. The logo design turned out great, but when it came to the website I was expecting professional input from the designers—and instead, I was repeatedly told that wasn’t something they provided. Later, another member of your team told me that was exactly what the designers were supposed to do: offer professional insight and guidance.

Being told it was all on me, without the design expertise I thought I was paying for, left me questioning the value of using Reel Unlimited for my website. If professional design input isn’t part of the process, I'm not sure I see the benefit of investing in your services.

Work is consistent, better than trying to find design clients on my own

Good team, but some projects are rushed. I've been designing with Reel for almost a year now. Overall, it's been a positive experience. Regular work, decent pay, and nice colleagues to work with. Sometimes, I feel like the turnaround are too aggressive, especially for work where clients want lots of revisions, so it's a good place for designers to build their portfolios with real client work.

We signed up for Reel Unlimited expecting a flexible design service suitable for multiple web projects. After running into limitations, we were directed to their Terms of Service, which apparently stated that only one web project can be active at a time. This was a critical restriction that was not clearly disclosed during sign-up or onboarding.

When we attempted to access the terms they pointed us to, we discovered that both the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links on their Stripe checkout page were broken. We were unable to review those details until we brought this to their attention post-purchase.

After canceling, we requested a refund and were told it had been processed on May 28. Over the next several weeks, we asked for standard refund tracking information (such as an ARN) and received only vague responses stating the refund had been completed. In reality, the refund was not initiated until June 16, nearly three weeks later. It cleared only after we followed up multiple times and indicated we were prepared to file a dispute.

While we can’t speak to their internal processes, the delay and lack of transparency gave us the impression that refund processing may have been deprioritized, and we were left with concerns about how client funds are managed.

Between undisclosed service limitations, inaccessible legal links at checkout, and a delayed refund that required sustained pressure to resolve, our experience with Reel Unlimited fell well short of expectations. We recommend that others review every detail carefully and document all communication if considering this service.

I was approached by Reel Unlimited and received a brief, which I was informed would be unpaid. Fine. I took time out to fulfil the brief, knowing what I was doing, so the result was as required.

Then, radio silence.

Upon writing a review and not from my email requests, I was told that it takes 2-3 months to review the results. It might be worth mentioning this before you cold call someone. That time period is excessive by any standards.

The responses firstly appear professional, yet they transpire into condescending, snotty, dismissive, and highly defensive retorts.

I can’t see these guys being around too long. If you are a freelancer who values your time and effort, I would steer well clear.

They seem to be employing some very questionable ethics if you read other experiences.

I have worked with many clients of all shapes and sizes over the years. For me, Reel Unlimited didn’t feel right from the start. I go with my gut instinct, and I suggest you proceed carefully if you choose to engage with them. Your experience may vary and is based entirely on mine alone.

I have to update my review because Reel Unlimited now flagged it. It's interesting how they fight against every 1-star review, although there are so many of them. So I guess there must be a reason for that.

Their work quality is very bad. From my experience they are having nearly no full-time people and obviously trying to work with people oversea who charge less. That results in the quality they provide.

I highly recommend to avoid Reel Unlimited and look for alternatives.

I used Reel Unlimited's design service for three months, drawn in by a cheaper subscription deal. Initially, I was pleased with the trial week, especially with the web design quality. But things went downhill fast.

The collaboration was terrible. Their web application is clunky and inferior compared to competitors like Penji or Kimp. They expect you to juggle between Figma, Slack, and their app, which is anything but user-friendly. Often, my comments on Figma were missed, leading to delays.

Speaking of delays, they were constant. Deliveries took 3-7 days, never within 24-48 hours as promised. The quality was inconsistent, leading to multiple revisions that further delayed the process.

Things got worse when my project manager was suddenly replaced with no clear explanation. They kicked him out. But without telling me. Suddenly there was another person in the Slack channel and my contact person until this point was removed. Only after I asked why I got an answer. As my frustration grew, they refunded my money for the three months, which seemed fair at the time. However, the final month was a disaster. Multiple designers reached out to me via LinkedIn, revealing that Reel Unlimited had stopped paying them. This caused them to abandon my projects, and I was fed lies by Reel, claiming these designers were simply unavailable.

It became clear that Reel Unlimited has a pattern of hiring freelancers, not paying them after a month or two, and then replacing them. The designers themselves told me they were paid as little as $40 per web page, which explains the poor quality and long delays—clearly a strategy to cut costs at the expense of quality.

The project managers were often rude, and the web development service they offered was a joke. Even one of their developers contacted me via LinkedIn and admitted the work was below every standard. After spending $3600 over three months, I ended up with nothing usable.

To top it all off, after crediting my account $3600 for their constant missed deadlines, they later took the money back with a bizarre explanation.

Reel Unlimited's treatment of freelancers, poor project management, and subpar results go against everything I believe in. I strongly recommend avoiding this service at all costs.

Firstly, I am more than happy to revisit my review should I receive a response from Reel Unlimited. My current rating is based on not receiving any communication after completing a Webflow development task.

I was assigned a Webflow project to be completed within 2-3 days, presented as a quick test of my capabilities. The directive was to replicate the design strictly as provided. Despite the complexity of the design, I was up for the challenge, given my experience with similar projects.

However, the Figma file had some issues, such as incorrect spacing, missing style sheets, and inconsistent typography. I assumed this was a test of my ability to correct these clear errors rather than replicate them verbatim. Typically, a discussion with the designer would clarify any confusion, but this option wasn't available. I asked one question regarding using rems instead of pixels, but I received no response.

I completed and submitted the build but have not received any follow-up. I have read similar accounts from other candidates who have faced communication delays with Reel Unlimited after the initial contact. Effective communication from clients and freelancers requires tact, especially when providing critical feedback. As a company reaching out to freelancers, timely responses are important.

I noticed a reply from Reel Unlimited to another review on Trustpilot, where feedback seemed somewhat curt. Constructive feedback is always appreciated, but it’s essential to ensure replies are professional and courteous to avoid any potential misunderstandings.

Having worked with numerous global agencies, companies, and startups without issue, receiving no response after a reasonable time is concerning to me. The client might choose me for my expertise, but I also choose my clients based on their communication skills and professionalism.

I still hope to have a dialogue with Reel Unlimited to clarify this situation. If Reel Unlimited would kindly reply to this message and confirm within the Trustpilot platform that they will review my build and offer feedback, I will consider revising my review.

I know you asked for my email, and I incorrectly assumed you would correspond via that email address after asking for it, but looking back, it makes perfect sense for you to air your opinion publicly instead.

Unfortunately, it won't work - as much as I am desperate to find a company like yours. I'm in bits—seriously. But I must stay true to my New Year resolution, not to self-flagellate for companies that operate clandestinely.

Very happy with the progress being made and will definitely continue to work with Reel Unlimited in the future. They took our initial logo concept and evolved it, and then incorporated this into high quality and thorough brand guidelines within a couple of weeks. Very good value for money and they've helped us lay very professional and solid foundations for our new business!

They reviewed and rejected my UNPAID designer application task in 3 minutes with an auto-reply e-mail. If you are a designer, think twice before applying them and work on an any trial design task project. Smells like a business scam. Do not waste your time.

The team at Reel Unlimited always went above and beyond to ensure our content writing needs were met, and even adopted a special optimization tool we are using for our writing needs.
The communication through Slack was seamless and quick, and the team sent regular updates on the status of the tasks.
It might take a few tries to find writers whose work fits your requirements perfectly, but once you do the team will do their best to only assign those writers to the tasks.
Overall, would definitely recommend for content writing purposes.

Reel stands out with a strong inhouse communication pattern - always ensuring that partners understand client expectations and meet them. Project management team is outstanding too! I am a content writer - Reel has been great to work for. Getting started took a bit of patience, but it’s nice to be able to choose my own availability. Pay period is also more frequent than many similar companies I have worked for (2x a month as opposed to monthly). The editors and other people I work with have been friendly and supportive as well. Overall good experience for freelance work!
