RED Driving School 

I passed my driving test today! I learnt with Anthony Rix in a manual and had no outside experience driving. I was super nervous driving for the first time, he has been patient and explained everything thoroughly and gave constructive feedback throughout my lessons which has built up my confidence up till the driving test. I'm very thankful for having Tony as my driving instructor.

Passed with just two minors with Roger Page. The best instructor I have ever ever had by a million miles. Calm, thorough and supportive. I can’t recommend him enough.

I passed my driving test at Cambridge Brookmount Court with Tanisha.

I highly recommend using her as a driving instructor! She always made me feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. In the beginning especially, I was such an anxious driver but Tanisha made me feel at ease.

Each lesson was well structured and tailored to my needs, with clear explanations and helpful feedback throughout.I really appreciated her encouragement and step by step explanation, especially when I found certain things challenging. Tanisha would send me pictures and detailed instructions of the roundabouts for example to help me mentally prepare and practice before my lessons.

Thanks to their guidance and support, I’ve become a much more confident and capable driver. I’m very grateful for all the help and encouragement and I 100% recommend her to anyone learning to drive!

Today I passed my driving test first try thanks to Raj Rathod, who is based in Chalfont St Peter! Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish, and I would highly recommend Raj to anyone looking to learn to drive. He is incredibly patient, friendly and professional, and always made sure I fully understood what I was doing. Every lesson was enjoyable, and Raj’s guidance and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed to walk into my test feeling prepared. If you’re looking for a fantastic driving instructor who genuinely cares about his students and wants to see them succeed, I would 100% recommend Raj!

I’ve had Michelle for a couple months and she’s been the most amazing driving instructor I could have asked for, she’s made me a confident driver and has always reassured me everytime I felt anxious about a manoeuvre or a mistake I would overthink test. Had the best conversations with her and she made me feel at ease when I had my driving test. Passed first time with her, highly recommend!

I've been driving for quite some time with Marcel, as I've decided to take my learning in calm tempo, and there's no doubt, that he is a fantastic instructor: incredibly patient, supportive, and always calm. He explains everything clearly and never rushes you, which makes learning feel enjoyable.

He's a very polite, kind person who genuinely cares about his learners. Anyone would be lucky to have him as their driving instructor. Firmly shaking his hand!

1 star – Disputed cancellation charges and poor handling of the issue

I am extremely disappointed with RED Driving School’s handling of two cancellation charges that I am formally disputing.

The first cancellation was 23 hours before my lesson and was due to a genuine, unexpected work emergency involving my husband. My instructor is aware that I have children and knows that genuine family circumstances can sometimes arise unexpectedly. This was a legitimate situation, not a casual or last-minute cancellation.

In fact, I didn't simply cancel and leave my instructor without the opportunity to work. I actively tried to rearrange the lesson for later that same day so that the instructor could still use the time. Unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate this, yet I was still charged.

The second charge is even more concerning. My lesson was scheduled for Monday 7th September at 6pm, and I cancelled through the RED website on Saturday 5th September at exactly 48 hours before the lesson.

My instructor also works on Sundays, so there was a full working day between my cancellation and the lesson. Despite this, RED's automated system has treated the cancellation as late and charged me.

The RED website was also extremely slow and difficult to navigate. It took a considerable amount of time to locate the cancellation option and complete the process.

I have contacted RED Customer Service and requested a manual human review, including confirmation of the exact cancellation timestamp recorded on their system and an explanation of how they calculated that I supposedly breached the cancellation policy.

I have also requested that the disputed money is not transferred to the instructor while this matter is investigated.

I am a reliable and committed student. I understand that legitimate late cancellation fees exist, but I do not believe customers should be charged when there are genuine circumstances and, in particular, when the required notice period has been met.

I am seeking a full refund of these disputed charges and expect RED to properly review the booking and cancellation records rather than relying solely on an automated system.

I will update this review once RED responds and the matter is resolved.

I learnt with James Ursell in Birmingham, with a test in King Heath. I came into driving again quite anxious after 2 failed tests a few years ago, and James was the absolute best person to see me through it. Calm, methodical and an excellent communicator and teacher, I felt like I made real progress after every lesson and he made passing on quite a daunting route feel so easy and routine come the day of my test. Cannot recommend him enough if you’re looking to learn in Birmingham.

My Oxford based ADI Shalena Rahman (Shelly) has been such an amazing instructor! From my first lesson she has helped me to understand everything about the car and has helped me improve my driving with each lesson. My confidence driving has hugely increased with having a lesson each week and I am so grateful to have felt so prepared for my test which I passed first time! Thank you so much Shelly!

Alan was incredible such a patient teacher who got me to the finish line and supported me every step of the way. His instinct on what I needed to know and when was immaculate. This was the second RED instructor I had and by far the best. Small things as well like sitting with me before the practical and explaining tricks and tips. Thank you so much Alan I wish you well with life ! Thank you for everything you taught me.

I had 10 lessons or so with Seringe in Hull he was very knowledgeable about the local roads and helped me pass my test earlier this week. Would highly recommend having lessons with him you can’t go wrong.

I passed my driving test recently because of Khalida Fakhri !
When I first started lessons I was an extremely anxious driver and I was constantly scared of getting things wrong and messing up. Khalida provided a safe environment to learn and ask questions and was extremely patient with me especially as I was a hesitant driver.
She took time to explain things to me in multiple different ways and remained super supportive.
More instructors should be like her and I can’t put into words how thankful I am to have had her to teach me to drive!

I highly recommend Geoff for anyone who's looking learn to drive, his patience and understanding make him a great teacher and honestly the way he adapts to every situation that was thrown our way of how I was learning to drive got me to the point that I finally passed. So I'm very grateful for everything you've taught me, thank you again Geoff.

After a horrible experience with a previous instructor who left me extremely anxious about driving, I was transferred to Majed Alzubi in West London and it completely changed my experience.

From the very first lesson, he was calm, patient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the actual mechanics and reasoning behind every manoeuvre, which helped my brain process what was happening instead of panicking and created an environment where it felt safe to make mistakes and actually learn from them, rather than dreading them.

If you are a nervous learner or someone dealing with high driving anxiety, I couldn't recommend him enough.

Had lessons with Mohammad Muflih in Sheffield. Passed 1st time and feel like I have been given all the tools to have a safe and enjoyable driving journey.
Mohammad is very patient, has a very calm teaching style and was well prepared for every lesson with a clear structure and progression planned each week.
As an adult learner, I felt we learnt at my pace with good preparation for the test as well as real life. He was flexible with lesson times as a fairly last minute test slot.
I felt safe and calm in the car with Mohammad, highly recommend.

Geoff is an excellent driving instructor! He was patient, supportive and professional throughout my lessons, and really helped build my confidence and prepare me well for my driving test. I’m very grateful for all his guidance and would highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive.

My instructor was absolutely amazing.

His method of teach was very helpful, he helped to perfect my driving from the small mistakes I occasionally did.

Now I know how to properly drive, and also know a lot more about many situations I may encounter.

Hi my name is Hussein Yousif and I passed today with Amin Mosa Al-Haddad the first time with only five lessons at barnet test center. He is honestly the best instructor and teaches important techniques and skills such as parallel parking and reverse bay parking very very well, I am extremely impressed with his teaching, this honestly felt like a walk in the park. I learnt driving automatic car from him and passed the test in first attempt with 2 minors. He is friendly, patient, professional and immensely punctual. He made learning fun and less stressful. He didn't just focus on making me pass the test but really taught me how to be a good driver. He gave me a great pep talk needed to calm my nerves before the test.

My husband too took lessons from him and passed in the first attempt. I cannot recommend him enough.
