RED Driving School

Syed Mohammad Khurram Gillani was able to become my instructor after I failed my 1st test with a previous instructor. I passed with Syed with only 1 minor! He was very helpful and patient throughout all my lessons and more importantly made be a better driver.

Sam thacker is a very good instructor he is patient and very honest I would recommend him to anyone thank you sam 😊

Darren Thornhill was an amazing instructor. Very patient with me when I made mistakes and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Highly recommend getting lessons with him.

Khalid bedewi was the best instructor I could have had. Giving real world tips and teaching with his unique style that made me pass on my first try at the practical exam. Highly recommend him. Red school was also easy to use, and they actually helped me reocver lost funds after a misunderstanding, which I was happy about.

I came to Sam Thacker with some experience behind me already however Sam really helped me to gain my confidence with driving, tweak anything that needed to be tweaked and provided a brilliant service. He never failed to make me feel at ease and comfortable behind the wheel. I have now passed first time with only 3 minors thanks to him! Can’t be more grateful 🙏 Thankyou.

Can't thank my instructor Steve Wilkins enough, thanks to his support I was able to pass my practical test first try. All the areas I wasn't confident in he helped me iron out where I was going wrong, always checking what I'd like to do each lesson and offering different levels of guidance to build my own confidence up over time.

After a number of failed practical tests when I was 17/18, I completely lost my confidence in driving. At 46, I finally decided it was time to try again and booked an intensive course with Laily Alkozai.
Laily has been amazing from the very first lesson — patient, encouraging, and always smiling, even when I’m sure I tested her patience more than once. She gave me back the confidence I thought I’d lost for good.
Today, after feeling incredibly nervous, I passed my driving test today. I couldn’t have done it without her. Thank you, Laily.

ALI was a fantastic driving instructor he turned up on time every day and my son Marcus passed first time in Chippenham he is an asset to your company! A really reliable and informative instructor we could not ask for more we are delighted thank you Ali ! Fully recommended

Passed today with only 2 minors thanks to Roger Page. Was a nice guy and kept mr comfortable driving whenever I was nervous

Amin is an incredible teacher, he always arrived early before the lesson, and always went over the lesson plan for the day. During the lesson he would always write notes to give feedback to me on, and at the end of the lesson he would send me the notes so that I can reflect on them. He went over all the different types of driving skills until I mastered them and was able to do them with confidence, this gave me the confidence I needed to pass first time with him. I would highly recommend him as a driving instructor, he is very knowledgeable an i'm truly very grateful. Thank you to red driving school for the support as well.

Learning to drive with Roger Page has been a great experience! I started from
scratch with him, he has been patient and supportive throughout my learning, explaining every step of the way. He’s really easy to get hold of and responsive to my messages for setting up lessons. And i’m delighted to have passed with only 1 minor, and feeling very confident now as a driver!!

I’m based in South London and I wanted to share how great my driving instructor Rebecca Begum was. I’d had 3 driving instructors previously, and I just thought I didn’t like driving - I was always extremely anxious before lessons and struggled with parking a lot! That all changed when I met Rebecca; she never made me feel stupid, was patient and encouraging and I immediately felt at ease with her. She really understood how my brain worked and I’ve just passed my test! Honestly, I wish I’d had her from the start as I know I could have passed sooner. Not all instructors are great teachers as well as drivers, but Rebecca is both and I would highly recommend! I also really appreciated her flexibility with the timings for lessons - so important as I could fit lessons around my availability.

I came to Geoff with just 5 weeks before my test and he got me fully prepared and confident enough to pass first time! He was always patient, supportive and great at explaining things. Couldn’t recommend him enough! I came to Geoff with just 5 weeks before my test and he got me fully prepared and confident enough to pass first time! My driving instructor Nicola was brilliant—always calm, informative, and patient. I was quite nervous at the start, but she never got frustrated and made me feel completely at ease. She broke down instructions so they weren't complicated which made it easy to pass with confidence.

I highly recommend Faraz Zia! I started lessons with him as a complete beginner, and he was always patient, considerate with scheduling, and easy to communicate with on WhatsApp. He explains everything in simple, easy-to-understand steps, which made learning much easier. Thanks to his guidance, I passed my driving test first time with only 3 minors! 🚗👏 Would definitely recommend him to anyone learning to drive!

My driving instructor was Andrew Sutton not only an amazing driving instructor but also a very good person. He not only teach you how to pass a test like most instructors he teaches you how to drive. Takes you all around. Is very easy to talk to and makes good convo. It was a very bitter sweet experience when I passed like I was happy but also abit sad that it ended. Ps… don’t call him a geordie. I highly recommend him.

12 days before her driving test my daughter received a message from RED saying that her instructor is no longer working for them and to call them so they can arrange cover. My daughter called the following morning and was told there was no instructor available. Feeling that she had been fobbed off I contacted Red who then told me my daughter hadn't had a lesson with this particular instructor since September 2025. She had and was paying him in cash . By my calculation well over 2k. When I raised this I was told my daughter should never have paid in cash , it's in their t's & c's! (For driving lessons..) What 17/18yr old would read terms and conditions for driving lessons?I wouldn't have. I escalated this to a complaint and Jess did try to help but unfortunately could not. Taking a driving test is stressful enough at any age and I urge anyone to favour an independent who does not treat their profession as a numbers game. The instructor may of had a valid reason to leave Red but they should try harder to help people learning under their banner and not try and wriggle out as in this case. I think this is very poor and lacks the empathy you would receive from a smaller company. They are nationwide and can't find cover because she is learning in an automatic vehicle.

I passed thanks to having a very patient and professional instructor, Ahmed Kahn in Reading.
The RED website is very straight forward and easy to navigate. Cant fault it

My Oxford based ADI Shalena Rahman (Shelly), was the best instructor I’ve had after have many issues with other instructors. Shelly is very patient, extremely kind and guides you through all your lessons whilst always reassuring you. Easily she is the best instructor in Oxford. Thank you Shelly.

Aaron Jones is an excellent driving instructor and I would highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive in Cambridge. His lessons were always well structured and purposeful, and he consistently made sure that I was progressing and building on what I had learned.

As I became more confident, Aaron was also very flexible in adapting lessons to the areas I personally felt needed further work. He explained everything with great clarity, always taking the time to answer my questions thoroughly and helping me understand the right course of action across a wide range of different driving scenarios.

Throughout, Aaron was extremely affable, patient and easy to get along with, which created a relaxed and positive learning environment while still keeping the lessons focused and productive. He supported me brilliantly throughout the whole process and ultimately helped bring me to the point of passing my driving test.

A brilliant instructor, and an easy five stars.
