STILL waiting to receive my payment.
On the 9/9/25 I received a email from Anna who now doesn't work for the company....in this email are the following words..."We’re preparing your payment for the 2021/25 year and will need your bank details to process it."
Bank details were provided.
On my HMRC it's been showing as "Payment Pending" since OCTOBER 2025!!!
This getting beyond ridiculous now.
No idea what's going on. NO details given of anything.
All I get from Rebatemate (when I'm able to get a response) is that they'll investigate.
Other colleagues of mine have been paid out months ago, even though they submitted a claim thought this company after I did.
It's just not good enough.

I have emailed Rebate Mate for 1 last time this morning as my refunds were issued last summer and since then I have had 2 automated messages from them and a £100 late filing fine from HMRC. No contact at all since November which stated they were having issues with issuing money as they were being investigated due to transferring money to a diffrent bank account.

All seemed good in the beginning, I was recommended them by a friend but it went on and on and then I got an email in December about funds being frozen, I’ve been waiting 6 months now. They’ve had the money from HMRC but I haven’t had a penny.

New update, managed to get hold of them, was promised money end of Feb-4th March but still not received it. It has been over 8 months and now I’ve had a tax bill for £100 about a self assessment thing which I was told to do by them.
New update. They have made me wait near a year for the money and taken nearly half of it as a fee.
I knew I had to pay that fee but I don’t feel they have earned it.
I spent 30 mins on hrmc phone today trying to sort out the mess they created and it cost me £400 plus for the privilege
Avoid like the plague!!!!!

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and 5 star as it’s money I wasn’t originally getting and didn’t have to do any work for.

Used rebate mate for my tax refund back in 2024. No issues, everything ran smoothly. Use them again in July 2025 to have a completely different experience: HMRC account show money was sent to rebate Mate in August 25. I have been chasing ever since, to no avail. Enumerous emails to several people and different email inboxes, where the answer is always the same - either no answer or "we will investigate". Phoned directly last week and was told I would have an answer in 48hrs. No answer, no reply to my email either. Appaling service! No wonder people are thinking this is a scam. I will definitely stop recomending it to other people. My sister has the process open with them since August 2024... she received multiple fines as Rebate mate did not submit the self assessments on time and did not send required information, as they should. She had to sort everything directly with HMRC by herlsef as rebate mate kept saying they would contact them but HMRC was not contacted by this company. She hasn't received any refund so far.
5 months in and I'm still waiting for the refund Rebate Mate already got on my behalf!!! If this is not fraud or crime, I don't know what this is... Shame on you

Claiming ridiculous delays from hmrc are the issue.
I no 100% the money is in there acc as confirmed by hmrc.
I wish I’d read all genuine reviews before using there service.
Related alls unanswered texts ignored .
Until the threat of reporting too hmrc and police then suddenly all calls answered !

I can't give 5 stars as previously I would have given 1...but happy with the ending and I will use Rebate Mate again.

Initial communication was good and putting forward my tax rebate claim was straightforward. This was back in August 2025.
However, due to complications with my refund and issues out of my control, I chose to cancel the process. I was told I would still receive a payout. This was over 1 month ago. Despite emails and numerous calls, I have yet to have any update on the situation. Not impressed.

If I could give them a lower score than 1, I would. Poor communication from the beginning, and then leaving my rebate process owing several years late self assessment payments and penalties. Iv to appeal this over several months with the HMRC. No response from Anne the managing director, please please please avoid.

I Started my claim in early 2025, I was told payment would be with me by September 2025 however I have still not received anything, despite my HMRC gateway showing that they released the funds to rebatemate in June/July 2025. I’ve chased them multiple times since and I am yet to receive a response. I’m very disappointed in the service I’ve received from this company.

Applied 6th October and was given amounts I could claim and because I used to be self employed and had utr number I was told my claim would be quicker than normal so I Signed paperwork etc.
Literally checked my online HMRC account to find that 6th Nov Rebate mate put over £6k of 'job expenses' against my account then removed it? It is now January the 13th and no word from Rebate Mate. Its either a scam or they are really bad at their job.
Ill be contacting HMRC tomorrow for more details then phoning Rebate mate for a chat. They've messed up my tax code now.

I had over £2000 rebate in their account since October 2025 no reply from them ..I have emailed them and called 4 different numbers …no reply this is a scam company, I will now be getting police companies house and tax office involved ..Anna Williams is a scammer!! The company has 2 addresses in Birmingham and according to companies house registered in Cardiff .,. I sent emails and texts with my details asked them to confirm receipt of the info absolutely no reply …..

She is not an accountant, the accountant is Accountancy in Telford who does the accounts, receives the tax rebate then transfers into rebatemate and PAYEback account, she is a business consultant and a bad one at that, I spoke with the accountant.. so Anna there is no need to wait until end of December either get the funds into my account immediately or I will be contacting them and relevant authorities and getting you for embezzlement, theft and getting your companies struck off the register !! I have sent you on your phone number the relevant information if you don’t want to talk to customers keep ignoring them this is the only other option to get you to react !!!!
There shocking there customer services are now ignoring me they received my refund on the 2 nd of October I am still waiting for my payment they are now ignoring my calls and e mails

I can confirm after a very long wait, nervous one no doubt I have officially received my money!! Whoop whoop.
I was told back in December 2025 by Ann Williams I would get my payment on 9th Jan 2026, so I emailed a few days ago to double check to find Ann Williams has now left the company and to email an alternative member of staff which is all in the email, so I did, the next day as soon as they started for work they called me and explained to me they are now under new management and they have a lot to get through as Ann has left and they are playing catch up but she reassured me and couldn't apologise enought about my bad experience I've had.
I'm so happy in the end it finally got sorted. Thank you to the staff that managed to sort it all out for me in the end.

I started my clame in 2024 and to be honest it was myself that did t fill out all the details etc in a timely manner due to my change of name took a while legally and getting all my id changes to proceed further but once that was all done I finished everything I needed by June/July 2025, I started with Catalina, but now been feeling with Millie, everything went fine, but I've not heard anything via the genial email they use since I got told my 3 out of 4 years of reclaiming amount and wether I wanted to accept it, which I did, and nothing since. I've chained contact via the number on what's app like I had done throughout my process with Millie but only a reply to say she will need to check with Anna and get back to me, nothink since.
No reply to my emails from the only email address I have with is the generic which you find on Thier website.
I'm apart of a very big work groups and 3 members of staff got Thier money quickly last year which then others like myself started the same process but there is 3 that's I'm aware of without asking everyone that have been in the same situation like myself now, sitting awaiting for 3-4 months with no reply after accepting the 3 years total amount confirmed of money to come back to us!!
I'm starting to get nervous about this and the situation which is making my very anxious and worried, as a new mother to a 4.5 month old, that was looking forward to recieving this payout to help with my maternity time off work, my gut is telling me there is something is wrong and this maybe a scam now.
If it turns out it's not then I will take this review down after posting a new up-to-date one. Please if you read this, check to see if I have put a new up to date review incase this post gets removed, if it does and I haven't left another review then something is not right with this company.
I also noticed it's changed hands or at least a % of the company has in February of 2025. Has this got to do with anything??

9 months they spent doing a self assessment rebate for me.
I got selected for an id check from hmrc which i gave them all the info etc the day after as they said they would handle it 30days later they had submitted it online to hmrc which i could of done the first day. I had letters from hmrc fining me £200 which i had to get them to get cancelled for submitting thing late, ive also had another £50 fine for a late submission which they've then sent me the info to get it cancelled my self and then said after 9 months they no longer want to finished my rebate claim and have withdrawn as been my agent with no real explanation and taking 2 weeks to respond to emails. Yeh i know others who started after me with them already getting payouts
