Impossible to get a connection with this awful system. it is next to the modem (50cm distance) 2.4ghz connection but it is alway on low signal. I sent log to rain bird, but they keep saying is normal…their customer support is the worst; I strongly suggest not to use their systems. mine is a ESP-TM2 6 channels with wifi It’s one year I use bad words every time my garden needs water…

Le process est lent, boucle sans arrêt. Aucune explication. Pas de mode d’emploi si ce n'est un prospectus louant sa simplicité.
Actuellement bloqué parce que le mot de passe que j'ai ne correspond pas à celui qui est enregistré.
Programmation semblant intuitive mais qui est sans effet.

I installed an ESP ME Modular display and use it with the app very easily! John at Tech Support was extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable! He explained what to do to re-establish connectivity using my 2.4 GHz WiFi. I am very pleased with the app as well. Thank you Rain Bird and to John for excellent Tech Support!

Unfassbar die nicht vorhandene Qualität. Das WLAN Modul funktioniert nicht. Die Steuerung mit einer miserabel programmierten App rundet das Nichtfunktioniereb ab. Eigentlich eine Frechheit was da verkauft wird!

This company will RIP YOU OFF. A simple transformer that plugs into the wall is listed for $295.00 Transformers of this type should be at the most $50.00 and many are under $30.00! CROOKS is the term I would use.

Doesn’t log on wifi . Barely works . Not a reliable controller at all, don’t buy unless you want let down

I purchased the Rain Bird ESP-tm2 for the brand name and also and primarily because I wanted to control my system from my phone from anywhere, which comes in handy with spot watering areas in a little more need.

The wireless capability is a slow 2.4Gb IoT wifi connection. And yet the app tries to constantly communicate with the controller proving very 'taxing on the this user's experience. It is constantly attempting communications with the controller. The app is constantly polling the irrigation controller for primarily updates for whichever zone was currently in operation in order to update the time remaining for that zone in the app. The app is trying to constantly update the user by asking the controller to update it so it can update the user display. This sort of polling 'architecture' purportedly went extinct nearly 30 years ago, but now apparently it has made a comeback like the measles.

Anybody out there,... please design a better app and sell it to Rain Bird? To fix this problem is dead simple and wouldn't require any Rain Bird hardware modification.

The controller works with a set of timers to use for programmed watering times, right. So what is so Einsteinian about starting both the actual zone timer at the irrigation controller, while at the same time starting a software timer kept by the app locally. You don't need to throw a monkey wrench into the system with unnecessary traffic oversubscribing an underperforming low priority wifi interface.

Just start a second software timer to shadow the actual timer that the irrigation controller controls locally. All this data traffic requesting updates from the controller for a given zone timers value, all going over an interface which is intended for low bit rate, latency tolerant data transfer very quickly destroys the user experience.

So what happen with 2 timers when say a zone ends abruptly due to some issue of functional error? The Irrigation Controller is capable of reporting an error notification to the app which would then be able to update the user and take appropriate action.

A very poorly conceived of app.

It reminds me of a debate years ago in Congress over all of the $millions being spent by the US to develop a pen that can write in zero G, (while in space). Yes, well one of the congressmen said he had it on very good authority that the Russians had a different solution and held up a pencil.

Wie soll man etwas beschreiben, das einfach ÜBERHAUPT nicht funktioniert? Wir bekamen das Rainbird System von einer Firma aufgeschwatzt, die unser GaLabauer angeschleppt hat. Das Beste: nach 6 Monaten und 20K Euro heben sich die Regner noch aus dem Rasen, FALLS man die Steuerung zum Funktionieren bringt, und die Tröpfelschläuche haben sich nicht aufgelöst. Aber sonst?
Die Ansteuerung funktioniert überhaupt nicht. Keine Verbindung, obwohl die ausgesprochen sinnige Mitteilung der App lautet "Das Steuergerät steht in aktiver Verbindung. Versuchen Sie es später noch einmal". Wenn man nach 20 Minuten und ebensovielen Versuchen endlich mal die Oberfläche erreicht, und vielleicht sogar eine Programmierung vornehmen darf, erscheint das hohldrehende "Warten auf Steuergerät" - lange Rede kurzer Sinn: Wir gießen mit der Hand (bzw die wenigen Kreise, die man per Drehregler direkt am Gerät einstellen kann)
Reaktion der fähigen RainBird-Vertragsfirma: die anderen Systeme sind noch schlechter. WIE DENN BITTE? Entziehen die dem Boden noch Wasser? Denn schlechter als "nimmt eine Menge Geld für Null Leistung" geht ja wohl nicht.
Aber gut, wenn Rainbird an irgend etwas anderem (Qualität, zum Beispiel, oder Kundenzufriedenheit) interessiert wäre, stünden hier nicht 1,5 Sterne.
Schändlich, betrügerisch,unsagbar.

Ich habe vor ca. drei Jahren einen Regensensor zusammen mit einer automatischen Bewässerungsanlage erworben. Im Regensensor befinden sich Ringe aus Kork o.ä., die ausgewechselt werden müssten. Anfrage an Rainbird, wo ich die bekomme, Antwort: Gar nicht. Neuen Sensor kaufen für 35 EUR. Wenn man alle drei Jahre einen neuen Sensor kaufen und an die Anlage anlernen muss, macht das Dingen überhaupt keinen Sinn. Nachhaltigkeit = 0!

Do not but anything from rain bird. They sell many products under different names. They sell OtO lawn sprinklers and they are garbage. Mine last about a year before it started leaking now the stupid things wont even turn on. They are absolutely junk. They never did do what was promised in the first place. Crap company selling crap products.

Ik heb de ESP-RZXe 8 buiten unit met de wifi module. Wat een drama. Ieder jaar valt hij een paar maal uit de wifi en dan krijg je hem er niet meer in. Gewoon NIET. Alles kun je proberen maar die shit werkt niet.

Feitelijk moet je alles resetten en alle sectoren weer opnieuw programmeren en dan hopen dat hij het weer even volhoudt.

I called customer service because I needed help understanding how the rain delay worked. He basically told me that it didn’t make any difference how many days delay you specified, it wasn’t going to water again until the next scheduled day, which makes no sense. When I told him that, he argued with me and huffed and puffed and sighed and made it clear that he thought I was an idiot. He was rude and uninformed. I decided to try to figure it out myself because I wasn’t expecting anyone else would be better. This guy was stupid and rude.

CLASS ACTION NEEDED !!!
Absolutely disgusted with the Rain Bird Wi-Fi controller. This thing is one of the most frustrating, unreliable products I’ve ever wasted money on. Constant connection dropouts, app failures, random watering schedules, and endless “offline” errors make it completely unfit for purpose. A smart irrigation controller is supposed to make life easier — instead this garbage creates more work than the old manual timers from 20 years ago.

The app is clunky, unreliable, and clearly not properly tested. One day the controller works, the next day it disappears from Wi-Fi for no reason. Reconnecting it is a nightmare, firmware updates fail, and support just runs you through the same useless troubleshooting steps over and over again. For a premium-priced product, the performance is embarrassing.

What makes it worse is the number of people online reporting the exact same issues. This is clearly not an isolated problem — it looks like a widespread product failure that the company keeps selling anyway. People buy these systems to protect lawns, gardens, and landscaping, yet this controller can randomly fail and leave watering schedules completely unreliable.

At this point I genuinely believe there should be a class action investigation into whether this product is fit for sale at all. Consumers are paying good money for a “smart” controller that behaves like a beta test prototype. The amount of wasted time, dead plants, water misuse, and constant troubleshooting is unacceptable.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this product completely. Save your money, save your sanity, and buy literally anything else.

If you are the end customer, and need help from Rainbird CS, forget about it; When I contacted them about missing part (usually preinstalled) they refused to supply the missing parts... Their response was just return the items, Buy new ones and hope they are not missing parts. I had bought 12, and 4 had missing parts.

Trying to install a new system in France with the seller. Impossible to connect the App to the controller. Rang the European contact number in France for assistance. Pressed the option as a private individual..told me to contact my retailler and put the phone down on me. Then tried with the retailler standing next to me the voice mail told him to go on the web and put the phone down on him as well…..totally useless…..

BS system that never works other then in manual. Error error error is all I get from the app.

If you have the time and energy in life to waste buy a rainbird...

major issues with the wifi connection.
when you just simply want to stop a run, cause you left the car on the lawn, or you have already manually watered, or its a hot day, so you want to water all areas, give them a once over, the wifi connection to the controller wont simply work, it will stuff you around for hours, its like its got inbuild FUOFF 2.0 installed with it. So you revert to the manual hose and sprinkler anyway.... cause you dont need to be screwed around by the interface either... which itself takes a bit of learning.

its nice to have the system automated, and linked into the water sensor, that partially works, but only if you like being screwed around many times a year.

I just cant understand why with these products, they didnt give you an option to hardwire the internet connection, if you wanted to...

Hace un año pusimos el riego subterrado para los jardines de la casa nos dijeron que Rain Bird era caro pero bueno, caro si pero bueno NO, en 14 meses una pieza o colector triple de ruberia Rain Bird da fuga por una grieta en el tubo defecto de fabricación pero ojo el conector del cual envío foto vale 18€ y se han estropeado o fan fuga de agua tres en 14 meses puesto, es un poro en mitad del tubo en el mismo sitio los tres y en Arquetas diferentes seguro queterminarr cambiando todos por avería un dineral

One day my Arc 620 Rain zBird controller stopped working. My plants were dying. I discovered my controller software needed to be updated. I did this and once again watering seemed to function. What I did not know was that there software had split my single waterings of from :30 to an hour into 8 active stations which watered for only two minutes. I’m watching expensive plants and trees die. When checking for function I would run a program, see the water turn on but not hang around to notice that everything turned off after 2 minutes. This is an appalling bug that has cost me a lot of money. If the software creates 6 stations that don’t exist that is the definition of a serious and costly bug. If I had been away, 15 years of planting would have been destroyed. Shame. Zero stars.

Uren aan het prutsen geweest om de ESP-RZXe met de LNK module aan het internet te koppelen. Er is prima wifi signaal, sterker, de router ziet gewoon een connectie met de LNK. Maar via de app kan je niet connecten. Kortom, rommel. Niet kopen is het devies. Ga nu overstappen op Hunter. Bij een vriend gezien dat dit wel goed werkt.
