I am from the local area and grew up…

I am from the local area and grew up here. I first started going to this shop when my father had a moped (when I was young) and I would meet/speak to the staff and have a look at all the bikes for sale which I thought was very cool. They would let me in their workshop to have a look around which as a young lad I couldn’t have been happier. Over the years I have got to know them decently well having now been making my own purchases there. I would like to thank the staff for being kind to me over the years and for being very knowledgeable in their industry. Thank you!

Traumatic experience

Did a CBT here several years ago and never reviewed it at the time. I still have nightmares about the whole experience. Trainer Frazer was rude and abrupt and actively shouted at swore at me. I told him I wanted to learn as a mode of transport only and he spent most of the time with the other student on the geared bike who was clearly more into bikes as a passion rather than transport. Because so much time was spent on the other student, the course took two days which meant I had to pay extra. He reluctantly signed the paper work so I got my CBT but I have never been on a bike since due to the absolute trauma it caused.

Liars and scammers

Document everything because they will steal your money. Non roadworthy rental bikes.
Currently stuck in a dispute with them because I trusted them. Dont fall for Shab's nice guy act

I raised a dispute with my credit company and raised this with citizens advice and they returned my money as per their section 73 of credit agreement and in line with consumer rights act of 2015. If i had the time, money and energy I would take you to court which is why I waited until now before going public with this. You are a criminal and a liar and should be reprimanded. I will not let you get away with this.

The story:
This was the third time i rented a bike from them. In the past the gears got stuck and left me stranded for an hour but i thought maybe its because im learning.
This time, i picked the bike at Monday 4:30 with half a tank, rode all the way to camden, turned the bike off to go into tesco, when i came back the bike wouldnt turn on. This was around 5:45.
Not sure how you have a mechanic shop and claim that i killed the battery while i was riding it.
So i called them that night but no answer because the shop was closed (fai enough). I managed to park the bike at one of my friends' over night so it doesnt get stolen.

Next day i called them trying to resolve this and they told me to call RAC and that of course if anything is wrong with the bike theyll refund me. I asked them to email me this, they ignored my emails.
RAC scheduled for Wednesday 10AM and they jump started the bike. I called and told them that Id like to bring the bike back after work and they said no problem but we will close the shop so you're gonna have to leave it outside and hand the rented helmet to the shop next door. I asked if they could email me that just so we can have this agreed. They ignored my calls and emails all day. At 4pm Shab answered and says no we won't email you and everything is at your own risk not sure what you want from us. When they saw that Im asking for documents and Im trying to do this the right way their nice guy act dropped.
So instead, i rode the bike back to my place to park it safely and refueled the tank.
On thursday (day when my rental was due to end) i took a half day off to ride it back and rid myself of this hassle but the bike wouldnt turn on. I called them and i called RAC. They told me that they wont tow the bike unless it cannot be fixed on the spot. They came, examined and towed the bike back.
After a week of radio silence i ask for a refund and they say that the bike is working perfectly and that i had flattened the battery.

I rented a bike with the expectation that its road worthy and that I dont have to spend a week trying to turn it on and return it to you. You wasted an entire week and youre just a bad person with the way you treated me and i genuinely wish that you get what you deserve.

This person is a fraudster his false worldpay dispute was refused as we supplied all evidence of hirers hiring it immediately after the bike was returned to us and so he comes here and try this bad review act with us. Since the bike being recovered to us. We put the battery on charge. The bike has been in and out on hire to many hirers which clearly indicates where the fault lies. When he initially called the RAC out they got it running for him so if they found a fault with it they would have recovered it to us the same day. He could have just returned it to us but he kept emailing again flattened the battery called out RAC again made them recover .Wasting 2 call outs and our time.he seems to have some strange problem unnecessarily putting down lies. We are reporting him to legal ombudsman as we have clear evidence of everything

Motorbike experience in London

I rented a Honda NC750x motorbike in the first days of July 2023. The motorbike was in good condition and with little km done. Maximum seriousness and availability of the owner whom I also thank him for his help with a problem on the motorbike owned by a friend.

Poor customer service

My feedback about this business is that you don’t always get value for money. Last visit on the 25 January 2023 not only was my cousin overcharged but they damaged a part on his agusta f4 motorbike. They charged him $300 to change a fork seal and labour! So over priced. When he spoke to the female employee at the front desk today about it she was dismissive and abrupt. Instead of trying to investigate and resolve the issue she was very defensive. He will never go back to this business.

Next time I'lI shop elsewhere

Next time I'lI shop elsewhere. I bought an AJS 71 Desert scrambler from Raceways Motorcycles. Within six months much of the paint had fallen off of the chain guard and other bolts and clips had gone rusty.
Steve the mechanic is charming and a good mechanic. His Wife the sales person was charming and helpful until she had got my money.

Picked up my XJ6N today so pleased with…

Picked up my XJ6N today so pleased with it, not my original choice initially but was meant to be. Fully MOTd and serviced only ordered it a week ago so superb service from the Team at Raceways. Brilliant service and great value :) brew machine was good to.

Appalling

Bike is brand new less than a month old.

Over several days told rubbish in petrol tank. Then told he had no time to look at it. Then told it was a valve issue.

Edited* Shab emailed me complaining about poor reviews. I changed it in the hope he'd actually do the work. He hasn't and now is trying to charge me storage on a bike he's not actually done any work on and which is under warranty. Avoid like the plague.

A princess when getting a sale but a stranger after..

Please bare in mind I sent this email to ksr-group explaining my experience with this company and really didn't want to write all this out again.

First off.. thanks for such a good looking bike.

Just wanted to say I'm in love with my ksr tw however I just wanted to bring to your attention the after care of your suppliers.

Just wanted to say 'raceway motorcycles, London, SE16 2LW' was absolutely fantastic at getting me to buy this bike promising this and that and if things go wrong they'll sort it or what ever.

Baring in mind I'm a car mechanic of 8 years. I asked them on advise on what to do during 'engine run in' and basically told me it's a waste of money to do oil changes during the run in process. I recommended using thinner oil aswel because it was the middle of winter and I won't be able to hit optimum operating temperature whilst riding as I'll be doing many short runs but they threw that out the window.

Panels wasn't fitted on properly and when I came back they put the blame on me. Please note I came back the day after and only done 7 miles without dropping! They charged me so I done it myself.

3 days after my first service I came back because my chain was still way to loose(had roughly 6cm of play).. Yeup you guessed it, they blamed me and said the chain stretched. Yes I understand it stretches but not by that much especially after a first service so I beg to differ whether or not they actually done it. Anyway a 1min job turnt into 3 hours as they 'had to take my bike in' and they charged me £10! Every garage I go to now they do it for free on the spot!

A little of topic here but it would have been nice to get a little more the £10 off after buying this bike for £2500 and spending about £400 on accessories.
Btw he sold be an old jacket which was missing the back guard.. no wonder why he was so adamant this looks good on me even though it's a size to big..

Ok enough rambling, now to the main issue.
Before I get started, please bare in mind I used to change my oil, oil filer, spark plug and clean air filter every 500miles. I made sure I done everything I could to look after my baby.

After 3000miles on the bike I noticed excessive smoke was coming out of my bike and I had to top up my oil often so I took it back to the dealership. They straight away said they are 100% there is nothing wrong with the bike, probably just dirty oil. I told him about my oil changes but was very adamant the bike was fine. After about 30min of back and fourth me trying to convince him there's something wrong he sent me on my way without even looking at the bike. 1000miles later I come back telling him I'm topping up oil every 100miles, there's a lot of smoke coming out of my bike and there's a tapping noise coming from the bike.. I know my baby didn't sound the same she was calling for help!

Took it there to solve this issue and yeah they was willing to take the bike in BUT I will have to pay as it seems like it's user fault because engines don't break. I took great pride doing the initial run in process properly.
But anyway what happened to warranty? What about all these promises of looking after the customer who brought the bike of you?

In the end I took it to my local garage.
Because they didn't bother looking at the bike the problems got worse.
The top head was gone so had to pay £180 for a new one, top and base gaskets gone and cost me £20 for replacements, valves where gone so had to pay £40 for replacements and the timing chain was damaged too(seems like it was overtightened) and that cost me £30 for a new one too, excluding all this I don't even want to talk about labour charge.. While I was there I brought better pistons and bottom block too so I'm basically giving this engine a new life.

Sorry for all the rambling but I just wanted to vent my frustration at something and I guess this helped.

But overall I'm ok with the bike but just wished the retailers you supply take better pride with their after care and not just act like they don't know you.
Also listen to the customer when they tell you something is wrong especially when they buy the bike of you brand new.. we know every song little change our baby makes..

But yeah after spending almost £600 on repairs my baby is back on the roads and feels great to ride.

Thank you for your email in regards to your concerns. We are upset however extremely surprised at your email and feedback and we have addressed all the points carefully in detail for you.
1)

You bought the bike on the 12th December 2015. You came for the first service on the 30th December . If you are a car mechanic , you should know better that if you service the bike yourself it invalidates the warranty. Furthermore, we always change oil in the first service but if you want to change the oil every 500 miles, its definitely a waste of money and it invalidates the warranty as you changed the oil yourself. If you decide to use the wrong viscosity of oil , you are putting the engine at risk. Bear in mind its only a 125 cc and it doesn't work the same way as cars.

Each bike is PDid (Predelivery inspected) and checked before the customer takes it out. The panels come assembled from the factory. Once the bike is gone from here, we don't know what goes on with the bike. We definitely did not quote any charge for this and especially if it is only done 7 miles so we don't know where that is coming from.

If you abuse the bike, the chain is going to work loose. You always came here with a pack of friends, it clearly indicates that you all go about racing on the bike.

We sold you a brand new jacket, trust me if it really was old you wouldn't buy it . Our job is to recommend the customer based on his needs. Its totally upto you what you buy or what you don't. You had a good look at the jacket before you bought it, you would and should have surely asked the right questions if you did not want to buy it. and yes, this particular jacket does not come with a backguard. If you wanted one with a backguard, you should have asked for it. There is no point bringing it up after 9 months.

First and foremost , as mentioned above, You invalidate the warranty if you service the bike yourself. We do not know if the correct procedure was followed of the service. If the correct oil was used, You never came here after the first service , so please bear in mind we are not psychic to guess your problems. You need to come to us or call us for your issues. Either way, you cannot come to us and complain if we have not serviced it at all after the first service as you never brought the bike back to us. Also, if you was to ride that bike rough, it would deplete the oil and wear the engine out as well.

We always keep our promises as remember, You are not the only customer , we have had previous customers and customers after you. If the piston ring seized in, and there is oil starvation, then it will definitely eventually cause smoke. ENGINES DONT BREAK unless and until you abuse them and dont look after them and ride the bike with low levels of oil. This brings me back to the same point we keep reiterating that since we have not serviced it at all after the first service, we are not responsible for how the service procedure was carried out by the customer, what oil was used, was the bike maintained properly or not so this complaint is totally irrelevant. however, we have taken time to address the accusations made on us.

We have sold many KSR MOTOS and a lot of TW 125s. People use them daily and hard, we service them for our customers regularly and not once have we had any complaints like this or none of our customers had their bikes damaged, abused and broken down to this extent. If you care for your possession (your bike) you will maintain it properly so it doesn't come to this. The only time 125 cc engines break down like this is purely lack of oil . As you know, this is self inflicted. There is no reason to play the blame game . You have voided the warranty.



Warranties cover manufacture defects causing a breakdown. Not lack of maintenance and careless riding.



We have seen heavier riders, who ride the same exact bike as yours and they have never stretched the chain to this extent or abused the bike .





We care about our customers and their bikes which is why motorcycle manufacturers stress on the point to get the service schedule carried out by authorised dealers.
