Do not use this company if you need your items when committed
The move was a horrific experience! There was not a single commitment made by this company that has been met. When booking we were clear the items were in a storage facility and needed to be picked up by the first . On the day-before I received a call that the equipment was broken down and it could be 2 more days per the contract. When they finally showed up, instantly we were told that we had way more than the contracted amount. This is after we provided the exact qty and size of each item as well as increasing the calculated amount by 10%. The fact the sales person could not calculated the correct amount given all variable should have been the first red flag.
The first delivery date we gave was July 18 and we were told “No problem”. I repeated multiple times to confirm that date. This was important has we were moving our pet related items that are critical to the safety and hygiene of our animals. We did bring a few items to last us a month which was 2 weeks past the original delivery date. Now we are over a month past the delivery date, 23rd business day, and still do not have our property. Each time we call we get the same story “I have spoken to the dispatcher and it will be put on a truck the end of the week or early next week” but when that didn’t happen we received no phone calls. When we asked why we were told, “We didn’t have an update so no reason to call” this was followed by, “Per contract we have 21 business days after the first delivery date to deliver per the contract”. Then today, as I mentioned this is the 23rd business day, I requested the process to get the compensation since the 21 days had past. The response was shocking. After it is delivered we have to pay the final balance of ~$2,800, then we have to file a claim. When asked how long the claim process took the response was, technically we have 31 business days to deliver.
We have had to spend hundreds of dollars as stop-gap to keep our animals at minimum safety levels but we are unable to leave the home for more that 2 hours at a time. Without our tools we are unable to fix items in our new home. Lastly, I have not been able to work effectively because I don’t have much of my office equipment (monitors, adapters and docking stations) nor most of my work clothes.
The delay, albeit not legally or contractually wrong, it is ethically unscrupulous and morally reprehensible.
