Younger kittens have a better chance of adjusting!
If I order from Purebred Kitties again, I would definitely order a much younger kitten. Mine was 6 months when I ordered and 8 months when she arrived. She was totally traumatized by moving to the other side of the world! We are trying to get to know each other but we have a language barrier plus different customs. She doesn’t understand English, so NO is meaningless to her. One day in frustration I shouted NYET, and she stopped immediately! Shucks - now I need to take Russian language lessons.
My poor kitty was really depressed! Her eyes were dull and lifeless. Too many changes! For the first 8 months her life was safe and predictable, and then everything went to hell overnight. She already had her life planned out and those plans definitely didn’t include me. Since most of the kittens they sell are half her age, relocating isn’t as difficult for them. After 6 weeks in the USA, if I left my kitty alone with my phone and credit card, I know she would order a plane ticket back home to Ukraine.
Would I order from Purebred Kitties again? Not after what happened next!!!
I tried for 2 months, treating this cat with kindness even though we never bonded. My vet said the cat was a product of inbreeding - with carpal valgus (joint malformation) ... and extremely low intelligence!
A mentally disabled cat would never be safe in the home of a woodworker with saw blades and power tools everywhere. She needed to go! But Purebred Kitties customer service said they want to control where I send the cat. Ten minutes later Maria (the owner) called and told me I was a horrible human being and should never be allowed to have another cat. She was shockingly rude - said the most terrible things!!! Maria didn’t care where the cat went - said that was my problem. The whole conversation was totally inappropriate and I lost all respect for Purebred Kitties. She berated me for 16 minutes, then said she was blacklisting me. Fine - I would never get another cat without meeting it first!!!

While most families choose much younger kittens — which naturally adapt more quickly — the transition for an 8-month-old can be significantly harder, especially after leaving a familiar environment, routine, and language. Your frustration is completely valid, and we’re sorry that the adjustment has been so emotional for both of you.
Regarding her origin, we do work with licensed international breeders, including those in Ukraine, and every kitten travels with the required documents and passport. We never want any family to feel surprised by this information, and we sincerely apologize if this wasn’t communicated clearly from the beginning. Transparency is incredibly important, and your feedback helps us continue improving how we explain the process.
We’re encouraged to hear that with time — and even some creative problem solving — she’s already showing brighter eyes, more engagement, and glimmers of trust. These early signs are meaningful, and it’s very common for older kittens to take several weeks or even months to fully settle into a new home and bond with their family.

Neglected and Critically Ill Kitten
We are lifelong pet owners and know the difference between normal adjustment stress and clear neglect. The Bengal kitten we received from Purebred Kitties endured a cruel transport — shipped from Ukraine to Moldova to Turkey, then to New York, and then presumably to Delaware. She then was transported to Philadelphia, flown to Chicago, and finally to Boston. This extensive and unnecessary travel is clearly unethical and constitutes neglect.
When she arrived, she reeked of her own stool, was visibly malnourished, terrified, and suffering from conjunctivitis. Within two weeks of adoption, she became gravely ill and required emergency overnight veterinary care. The veterinarians were shocked when we shared the travel conditions and documentation that came with her.
To date, we have incurred over $6,000 in veterinary expenses directly related to the conditions in which this kitten arrived. We expect full compensation for these costs. If the company fails to take immediate responsibility, we will escalate this matter through all appropriate channels. Their responses in this website are all generic and disrespectful

Beware of what really goes on
My kitten arrived malnourished. Dirty with fleas, ringworm and literally filth. I have attempted to contact purebredkitties.com to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else and be compensated somehow but they feel they’ve done no wrong.

I had been looking for a Maine coon for…
I had been looking for a Maine coon for quite some time. Trying to find one to adopt in my state seemed almost impossible. I decided to check out pure bred kitties. I read all that I could on their site to find out about the process.
I found the cat I wanted, and went from there. It took a month from the time I made a reservation to receive my kitty. It was the best decision I could’ve made!
The adoption team made it easy and answered all the ? I had in a timely manner.

So pleased and happy with my kitten…
I had such a pleasant experience with PureBred kitties. They kept in regular contact with weekly videos to show how my kitten was doing before he was ready to go home and took the time to answer any questions I had. I got the perfect Maine Coon I was looking for. He is such a good cat and I am very pleased with the whole experience. I was a little skeptical at first but there is no reason to be. If you are one that is unsure if PureBred kitties is the “true” thing, let me be the one to convince you to let them find the perfect kitten for you.

Important read before purchasing
First I'll start with all the great things. I really wanted a Sphynx cat and I was glad to find a company where they source from breeders that test for hcm and trusted breeders. I am grateful to have my kitten in my arms after a little more than a month. She is beautiful.
Now the process started by paying over 3k for a sphynx which is quite a lot. I then found out that she is flying from Ukraine to Delaware and that I can pay an additional 1,600$ to have a nanny fly her from Delaware to Las Vegas. So I decided to book my own flight to Philadelphia and pick her up myself and fly back to save 1400$. Regardless of the money aspect of it all.. because she is worth it. What was super disappointing was the lack of communication. The first week started off good , I got a video and some updates .. but the updates were super basic about cats in general, not about my actual cat. Then a week went by and I called to see if I could actually get an update and a possible date so I could book a flight to get her. He said he can't tell me specifically when she is coming but would update me. A whole week went by and I stopped receiving any info. I called back and same answers. I was upset at that point because I just spend over 3k and I haven't even seen any update since the first day. Another week went by and I was fed up and asked to talk to anyone but that guy. Finally got to speak with the woman who I spoke with initially, she apologized and said I should have been receiving updates and videos of my cat this whole time. I was upset but she gave me a solid date to pick her up and sent me a video. Needless to say, I finally have this baby sphynx and she is precious. But even 3 days before I got her I asked 5 different people if I could get the weight of her before picking her up and got 0 responses. This company is great in that I got my cat, but why can't you just routinely update the people who buy them. 0 stars on communication.
The guy that I spoke with was incredibly hard to talk to. He said 'um' every two seconds and he clearly didn't know what he was talking about. So, thanks for my cat.
The woman who met up with us to hand off our cat was kind, informative and on time.
Now I can just hope that my cat is really healthy and the breeding was done with care 🩷
