Absolutely over the moon with the frankenstein mod done on my CECHA00, they were very fast with doing the work and also very polite and pleasant to talk to. Very good person, I highly recommend and trust them.

To everyone who is reading this and considering to restore/upgrade their beloved console. Matt is the ONLY trusted and reliable professional to take care of your console the way you expect it. Long story short, I bought the console from Japan and put the delivery address straight to Matt's shop. It was a risky move because the console was around 500 euros itself and I had no previous contact or experience with Matt but I talked with him before ordering and I felt comfortable. He did everything I asked and updated me on every single step, to be honest I had more expensive services in other categories previously but I never had such responsiveness from anyone, service was done professionally and it was packed/shipped the same day. Upon receiving the console unfortunately it got damaged by Customs(they decided to open and investigate and did not close the box properly and reseal it(it was perfectly packaged by Matt) and it came damaged. However I knew this was none of Matt's responsibilities since it was clear that the console was more secure packaged than it came from Japan. HOWEVER Matt out of kindness of his heart decided to replace the broken parts out of his OWN expense just for sake of me receiving the console in the state he shipped it and in the state I bought it. This review is not sponsored, not asked for, his shop is called RARETHINGZ, to be honest the name suits perfectly because Matt is one of a kind, RARE person.
Some sellers offer high quality work but poor customer assistance, this is best of both worlds.

The work that was done to my console was Frankenstein Mod 40NM RSX swap with Capacitors upgrade and everything else. Matt even sent me my old RSX and Hard drive(I've requested an upgrade).

I reached out to Matt for a diagnostic on my PS3 to check the SYSCON as to why it had failed.

He provided me with photos of the process and highlighted the errors being flagged. Then promptly replaced a fried mosfet and the NEC tokens. The console sadly overheated but he did a Delid of the CPU and RSX and replaced the thermal paste.

Once he had tested that the console was running consistently without overheating he offered me to end the work or to do the frankenstein mod. I appreciate he let me choose what I wanted to do rather than sell a further expensive fix.

In the end I chose the 40nm RSX modification and Matt communicated that it would take time to order and replace the part. He promptly found one and replaced it in addition to doing further stress tests.

Overall, I would highly recommend Matt as he communicates throughout the process and does not force uneccessary work on your console.

I had the dreaded YLOD again instead of getting it reflowed again I decided to have it Frankensteined and nec tokins replaced, so glad I did Matt has done an excellent job in bringing the PS3 fat original launch console back to life also sent pictures off the work that was being done, it was fixed and sent back within a matter of a few days

Matt was fantastic, I purchased the service to get my Original launch UK PS3 the frankinstein mod, along with the capacitors, also get it cleaned up etc...

I did this on a Sunday and Matt still replied and got my PS3 picked up on the Monday! Incredibly quick service turnaround, kept me updated and even sent me pictures of the work being carried out.

The work done though... Incredible, console is now quiet for the first time in many years, the GPU is 15-20c cooler than it used to be, no overheating anymore, the whole console is just extremely clean and damn near perfect, super impressed, would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants work done on their PS3.

Truly excellent service. I was given a broken PS3 years ago (3 beep syndrome) and stored it away never thinking it might be able to be repaired.
I saw, and cautiously saved, the Ebay listing for the PS3deliddingservice Frankenstein mod. Then i visited their website and read the breakdown of the mod.
Wanting to bypass Ebay, and put more of the fee into the modder's pocket, i made my enquiry and booked the service/mod directly from the website.
The process was so easy and the service itself was first rate. I had constant communication, help with the postal service, photos of the machine during and after the mod, and the replacement of parts that had gone astray over the years. A faultless service from beginning to end (including the lid polishing).
Such a worthwhile mod, too. The PS3 is back in business and playing everything i can throw at it.

Matt is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I sent my backwards compatible JAP ps3 and he completed the Frankenstein mod and replaced the capacitors. The console arrived beautifully packaged and it’s brilliant. Can’t recommend him enough, If you want your ps3 repaired this is your man.

I sent a PS3 controller to this company for repair. They informed me that the repair would take longer than anticipated. They gave me the option to wait a bit longer to get my original controller back, or to have a one that they had in stock sent to me. I went with the latter option, which was good because the controller I received was in better condition than the one I sent.
