Will I ever get my check? Who knows.
Back around December I got a letter in the mail stating that I had an un-cashed check from Prudential which was issued in April, and to contact them if it needed re-issued. I called the contact number, and found out they had my old address. I updated it, and they said the check would take about 7-10 days to process, and around 3 for delivery. I waited, about two weeks or so, and no check. I called them again the next month. For some reason, they said the check was past the processing date, but had not been sent out, so they would have to RE-process it (another 7-10 days) and it would be delivered about 3 days after that. I got a letter in the mail expecting the check, but alas! It was the 1099 form for the check! So they expect me to pay the taxes on it, but can't get the actual check to me on time? Alright. So I wait, surly it would arrive soon, they clearly have my address. It's now February, and I still have no check. I DID however, receive a notice in the mail that I updated my PIN number! So I gave them another call. It may come as a surprise to you, but the check hasn't been sent out yet. So they offered me a "rush" delivery for the check....which according to them is another 7-10 business days. And that's just my experience with the check! I called another time because I had an issue with my online account; it wouldn't let me verify it. So I called customer service, explained my situation about 3 different times to different people (after being told I would only have to give my name and they've already been informed about the situation), only to be transferred to IT/web support after about an hour, just have them tell me they don't know the issue and to call back customer service. Absolutely horrible experience. I advise anyone to choose another company over Prudential. It's a nightmare.
30 years behind in business operations capability
If a zero were available, that's what I would rate them. I have been in the financial services industry for 29 years, and without exception Prudential has the worst service and systems of any company I have ever encountered. They quite literally have not upgraded their tech since the 90's. In the last 2 weeks: 1) Lost an important check that was delivered to them via FEDEX. 8 days lost and more than 2 hours on the phone (mostly on hold) over two days yielded no results. They don't even have a way of creating a "case" so that every time you call, you have to start the process over even on the same problem. 2) They refused to honor an authorization agreement requested by one of my clients. They could verify we sent the correct form but could not tell me why they wouldn't honor it. I asked the last guy I spoke with (who could barely speak English) "Are you in the Philippines?" "Yes". Is English your first language? "No". "Can you do anything to help my client?" "No". I am now in the process of pulling 100% of clients at Prudential away from them. In the name of sanity, don't put non-English speaking people in a call center! It's not the Filipino's fault. It's Prudential Management's fault for making poor choices solely in the pursuit of more profit. 3) Cannot change client address without code sent to client's old address. Catch 22 anyone? So if you move you better make sure you get this "magic" code in the snail mail (who uses that anymore anyway?) PRIOR to your move or you are screwed. Speaking of snail mail. The service at Prudential is worse... far worse than the US Postal Service. Could there be a bigger insult?
Phone calls to this company are at "critical mass".
Called just to have Prudential stop taking out a state income tax from my pension. I was transferred to several agents then and later put on "hold" to listen to music for several minutes and then the connection with them was broken. I called again. That agent transferred me to another agent--phone rang 20 times before it was picked up. That agent gave me a different number to call so I could get to the right person directly that would make the change. That person, after more music and menu stuff transferred me to yet another agent who finally made the change. WOW--big problems with this company and a very annoying set of circumstances.
Worst ever going on the new about this…
Worst ever going on the new about this company. Took my money for 20 yrs got hurt at work said I was fine . NEVER SAW MORE LIES FROM AMY CO MAKES ME SICK THE FRAUD THEY DO. It’s my mission to tell every person I see . And put on the news so the learn there lesson karma
This has been a nightmare
This has been a nightmare. My former employer changed companies and I never got any notification. Prudential withdrew all my money out of my Fidelity account (which happens to be who my current employer uses). Fidelity was able to tell me when the blackout date was to be lifted, but yet Prudential couldn’t? That is odd right there. I am now on the phone rolling my funds (which they have already lost $$ for me in 1 day) The process of getting the correct department was ridiculous. Never would I recommend or use this company ever again.
Long story short this company was…

Prudential Does Not Live Up to their Promises. They Have the Worst Representatives, Have Tremendously Long Hold Times, Cut You Off After Waiting For a Representative to Speak With, and Refuse to Give Any Concessions After Prolonged Discussions About Their Services. Do Yourself a Favor and Find Better People to Deal With.
Prudential's error = backup withholding garnishing & refusal to fix!
You cannot conceive of a more inept group of investment "professionals" than this company. A simple clerical error (their mistake) was rectified, and as a result this company, on their own - not by the urging of the IRS (CP2100), initiated backup withholding. Over 2 years and 3 W-9's later, they cannot (read: will not) rectify their mistake. You can't even get to a person that knows anything about how to begin to do so. All phone numbers lead to ignorant customer service reps that have no education in reporting or garnishing monies for the IRS. They say they want a letter from the IRS. Multiple phone calls and IRS office visits indicate that the IRS does not write letters for this circumstance (they wouldn't even if they had sent a CP2100) and that the W-9 form is the only thing the IRS would have required (done multiple times) and they (Prudential) are legally required to stop garnishing money within 30 days. Do not invest your money with this company, and if you have, ...run! Take your money elsewhere before they screw it up, and you enter the cycle of fill this out, ...fill this out again, ...fill this out again, ......... In addition, their 1099 int forms are usually late. If I could give negative stars, I would!
Prudential (there is nothing good to be said).
Prudential put their financial interests ahead of the financial interests of the policy holder. It engaged in payment delay tactics by phone first then by letter. Then more letters after my phone calls followed by paper dumps in our letterbox. I even explained I had just undergone brain surgery and could not deal their request to email them via their website.
This just fell on deaf ears. We received instead another huge pile of booklets letters and pamphlets that were not applicable.
I am eight years past official retirement age and still waiting for my miss-sold pension nearly 40 years ago.
Prudential still hold on to my money and will continue to I expect. So this short review is like many others. But one day the penny will drop.
Do not deal with this company its associates or its huge list of corporate insurance company names and their subsidairies.
Check out the Financial Conduct Authorities site. It certainly opens up the public deception.

I have been trying to access this site for 10 months to no avail. Every time I try I'm told that the password is invalid then when I try again I'm told I've already logged on and can't log on too many times so get blocked. Numerous emails just result in new passwords that don't even work. I've even tried to speak to someone but the phone lines are always busy, even when you do get through your told to wait a couple of days as there is a problem with the site, there seems to be no where to go. A really poor performance from what is supposed to be a major financial institution. I don't suppose anything will improve, just be aware if you become a customer
