Very poor quality

The quality of these frames is very poor. They are made of plastic and require adjustment every couple of weeks, as they become loose and slide down my nose, which is extremely frustrating.

When I raised this issue in-store (norwich), I was informed that nothing could be done, as this is simply the nature of the product. While the price may initially seem reasonable for a fashionable frame, the durability is disappointing — after just 10 months, they are no longer fit for purpose.

In comparison, frames from Specsavers offer significantly better quality and overall value for money.

We can only apologise you have had this experience with this particular frame.

As you can imagine, we sell thousands of frames each year and the vast majority of our customers have very few problems.

Occasionally though there can be issues with the style or the frame itself , and with were and tear.

If you care to call back to the store to discuss this issue, we are sure the team there can try and come to a solution and resolution for you with the frame.

Pop specs are absolutely terrible

Pop specs are absolutely terrible, for something that is advertised as 20 minutes 9 days later I had to chase the glasses they put lenses in for me , never again will I use this service, quick to take the money butslow in customer service.

Our 29 minutes service is for single vision lenses only, so if your prescription was for varifocals, or any other type of lens it does take a few days.


We are sorry if this wait is frustrating, but we do have a shorter waiting time than other companies generally.

Evening to U, i,m not normally the Type to Make A Fuss, but Ur Romford Branch is The Pits. i was Attracted by Ur Bright Lights and Price Promise Stand in the Romford Shopping Moll, The 1st Assistant tried to put £70.00 on the Price Quoted, within a Week the Lenses Fell Out , After several Visits to Sort the Problem Out the Staff (Female) Said he,s Here Tomorrow He will sort it Out , I,ve been back 4 Times he is Never There, so Today I went back again, I need my Glasses, the Male Staff that seemed to be in Charge was on the Phone for at Least 25mins I stood there with No Acknowledgement that I was Waiting to Talk To him, how Can you Promote your Business with Such Rubbish Employees.

Having lost my reading glasses last…

Having lost my reading glasses last week , I thought oh no … another trip to the opticians , £££££ , so just for quickness I bought a pair of ready readers which were £30 from boots , anyway was out shopping in merry hill today Sunday and saw a pop specs booth , I was a little bit nervous about it however when I talked to Mel the girl who was running the booth she reassured me , I had my prescription with me and chose some really nice frames , all ready in 20 minutes, Mel was amazing very professional, polite and knowledgeable, best service ever , I will be going back there in the future for everything now .

cheaper, but you get what you pay for

I was helped by a girl at Shepherd's Bush in March 2025 who clearly did not want to be there and was talking to me openly about how she wanted to quit the job. She then failed to let me know when my glasses were ready; I had to follow up. About a year later, I went in for my annual checkup at Vision Express, where I was informed that PopSpecs had gotten my prescription wrong and had given me a slightly higher prescription than what I had shared with them. When I WhatsApped them to let them know, I received a message from the owner who just insisted that they provided "quality" products and that he could give me a "great price" in the future. He did apologize for the error, but it was too little too late. There are certain things that are forgivable in eyewear, but to not even be able to get the prescription right is too gross an oversight to be ignored.

5 Star Service and Product

The display of amazing spectacles in Eldon Square Newcastle upon Tyne was eye catchingly dazzling. The service was excellent and having taught customer service courses in 5star Resorts world wide I was always going to be critical. But no fault found. If I was to be picky the pop up feel of the display cabinets did not match the pazzazz of the spectacles. Id love to see these glasses on faces under individual lighting in a shop with luxurious seating, but I suspect thats in the long term masterplan.The speed of delivery from initial enquiry to sale was awesome. 5stars and more from me.I felt the owner cared and went the extra mile.

Stylish but poor quality and disappointing aftercare

The glasses were stylish and the service at the time of purchase was good which is why I’m giving two stars rather than one. Unfortunately after one year of normal use the temples/arms have started peeling it appears they are covered with a sticker-like film which is now coming away and makes the glasses look cheap and tacky. This is very disappointing for eyewear that you would expect to last for longer than a year.
I contacted customers services who advised I visit the stall I purchased from. Once I made the journey back there I was then told that the frame cannot be repaired because the manufacturers have closed permanently! The only solutions offered were to buy new frames or to cover the peeling with “stickers”!!
Style aside, the quality and durability are poor and there was no meaningful aftercare or repair offered when something goes wrong, I wouldn’t purchase again based on this experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we are genuinely sorry to hear how disappointed you’ve felt with the situation. That’s never the experience we want anyone to have.

We completely understand your frustration, especially after making the journey back to the store.

Your glasses had been in use though for over 12 months, which unfortunately places them outside our standard and clearly stated warranty period.

Spectacle frames—much like shoes or clothing—do naturally experience wear and tear over time, and eventually will need replacing, particularly with everyday use.

Also, certain styles and frames will also naturally wear out faster than others depending on style and materials.

We have offered to reglaze your existing lenses into a new frame at a discounted price for you, and that offer still stands if you’d like to take it up.

We appreciate this may not have been the outcome you were hoping for, but it is the most practical solution available given that the original manufacturer has since closed (out of our control unfortunately- and we use several international and UK suppliers for this reason) and the frame cannot be repaired

We are sorry you felt the aftercare fell short.

We always aim to be polite, honest and respectful in situations like this, and I’m sorry if that didn’t come across clearly during your visit.

I had a great experience and excellent service at Pop Specs today, Milton Keynes. Alex was incredibly helpful and patient. They corrected my prescription glasses that I purchased elsewhere online and also fixed my brother’s glasses there and then. The service was fast, professional, and friendly. Will go back again. Pop Specs Manchester

I had a great experience at Pop Specs Manchester! John and Millie have helped me out of a glasses crisis multiple times. I have a complex prescription but on multiple occasions John and Millie have sorted me out with a new pair of glasses within the day! I could not recommend popspecs more!

Went in and asked about suitable square…

Went in and asked about suitable square shape frames like the ones I had on as this shape suits me best. Was shown totally unsuitable frames that looked like cheap sunglasses piled into in a shoe box. They looked like rubbish off a market stall in Estenders. Basically that's what I think they do...put lenses into cheap as chips frames. I couldn't wait to leave the place. Worst still was being quoted £195 for coated varifocals...might as well go to a reputable opticians. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you wanted to go for those oversized daft frames that are ludicrous.

Fantastic service at pop specs…

Fantastic service at pop specs Livingston. Couldn't choose between about 5 pairs, Megan was so patient. As I use varifocals they have to send them away but they were ready to pick up in 5 days. Sight was so much better from the minute I put them on, can read so easily with the varifocals. Definitely the best specs I've had in a very long time, would thoroughly recommend

Arthur Daley

Wife ordered some glasses from the Chester Market branch, chap was confused over presciption, paid and collected a week later. She could not see through them, he said the prescrition must be wrong and take it up the the optician that did it, very un-proffessional, he was like Arthur Daley, perhaps better suited to selling used cars.

Bad first experience, good second experience

Update:
Manager reached out, apologised and sent us the glasses free of charge. As we suspected, the glasses were there all along, the colleague we spoke to just wasn't good. If we only dealt with the manager everything would have been great.

One of the worst customer services I've ever encountered.

We called the Reading branch to see if they could make a simple pair of prescription glasses. They said yes and told us we could pick them up either that day or the day after.

We drive an hour and a half to Reading the next day to pick them up. When we arrive, the person behind the counter is talking to someone we assumed was a customer, so we waited. 10 minutes go by and it becomes clear it's not a customer, she's just been ignoring us the whole time.

Eventually she asks how she can help, we tell her we called yesterday and that some lenses were made for us to collect today. She has a quick look and tells us she can only find one lens and that we'd need to come back Monday. Who makes one lens and not the other? We asked her to look again or if she can make the other lens and she either couldn't be bothered or didn't know how to.

This company tells you they can make glasses up in 20 minutes, but this is clearly not the case. Not only was this a huge waste of our time and money, it's also outright false advertising.

Very Happy Customer …

I bought my first pair of glasses from Pop Specs and I have never had so many compliments, I have literally had complete strangers say I love your glasses etc. if they hang around I tell them about Pop Specs and highly recommend the service and the variety I had in the Uxbridge kiosk, I will be buying from Pop Specs again for sure.

Now extremely happy to give 5 stars

After leaving my initial review, i was contacted by a manager from Pop Specs Meadowhall.
It seems that my experience was down to some confusion by the staff who were present on the evening i visited.
The manager was genuinely upset at the service we received, and assured us that it would be rectified.
On visiting the store again a couple of days ago, my wife was able to chose a pair of beautifully unique spectacles as a replacement, including the lenses, at no extra cost.
So, faith restored in Pop Specs, and a big thank you for contacting us and sorting out the issue.

So, my wife loves all things colourful and sparkly.
She saw some jewelled frames in pop specs at Meadowhall and loved them straight away.
They were not cheap specs, almost £400with the lenses.
Anyway, three months on from buying them, quite a lot of the gems had fallen out of one side of the frame.
I called customer services who were very helpful and said to bring them in, if they couldnt be fixed, then she would be offered new frames.
We took them into Meadowhall this morning, and to be fair, the quy there said he would try to replace the gems, however, the person who knew where these were, wasn't there.
To cut a long story short, he ended up canabalising another pair of glasses for some mismatching gems, which wasn't really ideal.
After eventually collecting the glasses, the team member said that if it happened again (as these frames aren't particularly sturdy) we could choose another set of frames at a discount.
On getting the glasses home, at least one more gem has fallen out of the frames!
These glasses are not worn every day, my wife wears them for going out and special occasions.
We're not at all happy with the quality we got for close on to £400, or the offer of a discount new pair when the seemingly inevitable happens, and some more gems fall out.
I'm pretty sure my consumer rights, if invoked would give a different outcome.
Not at all a good experience post purchase I'm afraid.
