Dan saves the day! I bought a large (4x3) Royce Cube Gazebo from Polhill garden centre, however when I came to assemble it on the morning of my son’s 21st Birthday and with a party in the afternoon I found multiple parts were missing. I called Polhill and was put through to Dan, who took a note of all the missing parts (9 Pieces in total!). I have to say I wasn’t expecting much and was sat in the garden with a half built gazebo and the clock ticking before guests started to arrive. However Dan called me back promptly, told me he had located all the missing parts and best of all said he was going to deliver them personally. Dan then drove the 12 miles to my house and promptly delivered all the missing bits. I finished the gazebo minutes before guests arrived and all was well. Not a great review for Royce but Dan went above and beyond, massive thanks Dan!

We attended Polhill Garden Centre today and went to the restaurant for coffees and a sausage roll.The table placing and arrival was fine. I ordered at the desk paying £9.60p no problem. My wife and I waited 15 minutes for the coffee. After drinking about half of the drink we waited and waited for our food.I went to the food hatch and enquired for the food and was told they would chase it. After 20/30 minutes and a request to speak to the floor manager the roll arrived on a plate with no serviette or knife and luke warm. When the manager arrived at our table I explained the poor service and he ordered up the missing utensils. He made no apology and offered excuses by saying customers prefer their coffees after the food and they were busy. He reminded me of his 20 years experience in the restaurant trade and in the future I should order by telling staff I needed the food and drink at the same time. The restaurant was busy but there were lots of staff. We had similar poor service on food delivery on a previous visit and nothing has changed. The manager was lack lustre like the service. Clearly this is their operating system - drinks out and food later - it's wrong and managers should change things.

Absolute disgrace in the restaurant today. Got seated to a table straight away, was told there would be a 15/20 minute wait for cooked food which was fine. Drinks came out within 10 mins practically stone cold, and tasted like dish water. 25 mins passed and still no breakfast so asked someone to be told another 5 mins, nope we waited 45/50 mins for 4 small breakfasts. Which all came out luke warm and disgusting. Complained to manager to be told nothing he can do as they were busy. That’s no excuse for cold horrible food and drinks. And to top it off they were not even that busy. Will NOT be going back there again for food. A waste of time and money

Visited today. Staff were really helpful. I asked a member of staff working on the coffee counter where the toilets were. She walked with me to show me. Customer service at its best. Lovely coffee and lovely place to walk round and browse. Will definitely be back.

We had lunch here in the restaurant and had jacket potato with bolenase. It was great. The farm shop too was stacked with goodies. Well worth the visit ! The staff are always helpful.

Ordered beef brisket burger, looked great but came out barely warm with cold chips, took it back and told them it was barely warm, they agreed to redo it.
If I wanted cold food I would have ordered a sandwich
When replacement arrived a big deal was made about the fact that they had apparently cooked it all again fresh, tried the fries - hot(great I thought)
Realised burger didn’t look right was all slumping to one side although had a wooden skewer in it, took onion rings off skewer, they were freezing( obviously didn’t have brains to reheat those when I think they removed the bun to microwave inners). Cut in to burger and a FLOOD of oil cam rushing onto plate flooding bottom of bun and the tissue they had put on plate to absorb oil I assume. It had obviously been microwaved the way the whole thing was slumping compared to the first time, WHY LIE.
Asked for manager who tried to tell me that the nature of the pulled brisket was greasy when you cut in to it( surely that would have happened when pulled apart before serving as was all little bits) finally agreed to refund as was inedible and with at least 3-4 tablespoons of oil swimming on plate I didn’t fancy a heart attack that day

Wow a response from Polhill a year later, that says it all!We recommended polhill garden centre to my daughter and son in law, we expected it to be busy due to being December, it was but we queued for a restaurant table. The ordering service was easy, I suppose that we waited half an hour for a roast turkey/gammon dinner. So very disappointed...Luke warm cold food.obviously not fresh but frozen, squishy watery rubbery sprouts and horrible roasties.such a disappointment we should have complained in hindsight as £15.95 is no joke. Would we eat here again. NEVER

Despite writing a review in the summer nothing much has changed in the main Novell restaurant.
The serving staff are charming and go out of their way to keep us happy but the food is generally mediocre. The main problem is the luke-warm state of everything from bacon to eggs by the time it arrives on your table. Yesterday (Monday 1st November) we had to wait over 30 minutes from placing our order to its arrival on our table. (10:19 to 10:49am) [ it wasn't busy when we placed our order but it was half an hour later]. The poached eggs were cold but overcooked resulting in solid, tasteless yolks and cold bacon and barely warm sausages. The plates were also barely warm and the sourdough toast cold. The teas and coffees were fine. I dont know whether the avocado was supposed to be stone cold but it was.
By the time we left the restaurant (at about 11:15) the queue was stretching out into the shop so maybe the majority of customers and management are all quite happy. I ate mine only because I was really hungry

I brought a disabled friend over to poll hill to pick up some plants and a new trug.
Following a lovely walk around the garden centre, we visited the restaurant for lunch.
We noted there were some lovely huts outside for what we presumed were there for customers to dine in.
There were no signs advising these huts were for hire only and no barriers to stop you entering the huts.
It was quite sunny so we chose to sit in one of the hut’s for lunch.
While we were waiting for our lunch to arrive, a member of staff called ‘Wendy’ came over and said
“Come out of the hut, they are for hire at Christmas and for special occasions and not for hire now.”
I was a bit taken aback by the manner in which Wendy approached us, she came across as quiet aggressive with regards to her spoken words and body language, but none the less we abided by the rules and started to come out of the hut. I tried to explain it was a genuine mistake but before I could get my apology out ‘Wendy’ pointed at my vape (which I had not used while at the garden centre) and stated “you can’t use that on the premises either.
Im quiet disgruntled by her behaviour as there was no need for her to speak to us like that.
It’s not put me off of Poll hill garden centre as I’ve been visiting since I was a little girl, however, I was disappointed with ‘Wendy’s aggressive and judgemental attitude towards two mature lady’s who had made a genuine mistake.

I just spent almost £60 in Polhill Garden Centre including a purchase of bird food clearly priced at £8.99 but found, upon arriving home, I had actually been charged £12.99 for that exact bird food. Further to my phone call to Polhill, I was told the price had risen from the time I picked up the bird food to the time I got to the till and tough luck, there’s nothing I can do about it. I was even told that if I argued my point, the man I was speaking to would put the phone down on me. INCREDIBLY BAD SERVICE FROM POLHILL GARDEN CENTRE! Never will I shop there again.

The restaurant is really letting the experience down. Queued to get in. Baguettes were horrible, served with no garnish and tasteless. Tea and coffee served too cold. We sat outside and right next to our table a member of staff was pressure washing the patio area for the entire hour we were there! At lunchtime! The staff were friendly but clearly overstretched.

I have been visiting the garden centre for a long while
I have to say I was disappointed with the restaurant the service was poor
The coffee was not very hot
The toasted sandwich was just a sandwich no garnish no knifes and forks it was described as a posh cheese and ham nothing posh at all
The diet coke was delivered with what I can describe a hot chocolate glass mug
No salt and pepper given not even asked if wanted
The restaurant was good during the covid period better service better food
Perhaps you need more staff or better trained

Love this garden centre my pansies are still doing well after months.l prefer it to Coolings and Dobbies. My grandchildren enjoyed father Xmas this year again,I've been coming for years the grotto outstanding.

Worst Father Christmas experience ever!!! With 3 children I’ve been to a few Santa visits but this was by far the worst. 4:30pm appointment out by 4:38pm no effort of knowing the kids names (not hard when there is only 4 children in a room) 3 elf’s sitting down at the back of the room not one bit jolly and one even yawning. Santa sounded like he just wanted to go home! No one guiding adults where to sit/stand. Free hot drink voucher but they had no hot drinks available. My children were so disappointed after all the excitement and build up to seeing Santa it was so disheartening. Don’t waste your time or money!

Absolutely shocking service, food and prices in the main restaurant. We have been coming here for years to enjoy the festive displays but I can honestly say lining pockets with customers cash is far more important than giving good service and half paletable food. This place used to get it right for so many years SUCH A SHAME. ended up getting a full refund on a light lunch for five explains just how much this place has changed. NOT WORTH THE ONE STAR REVIEW.
