We staying in the Glamping tents for a 40th birthday as a family with our two dogs. We were not disappointed we had an incredible time and would highly recommend staying here, we paid for a few extras which were all in the room waiting, we dined in the hotel both nights and the food was lovely and staff helpful. The tents themselves have everything you could possibly need they were comfy and a great base for your adventure

Beautiful location, shepards hut spotlessly clean, easy streamline booking and communication - especially loved the golf buggy’s (my Labrador puppy did not so much) - thanks for a wonderful stay!

Good but could be better if they paid more attention to detail. The glamping accommodation looked nice on arrival but on closer inspection there were quite a few things wrong -

Frying pan handle damaged which meant it was unsafe.

Chopping board reeked of garlic and obviously hadn’t been washed since last guests.

USB table light didn’t work and there wasn’t a specific cable available to charge it.

Curtain between kitchen and bedroom was broken.

Outside chair arm rest broken.

Nothing major but all these issues should be constantly checked for or picked up on when cleaning/change-over days.

Honestly one of the best stays we have had. Perfect location, amazing views and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The rooms were very clean, great facilities and everywhere is new. The food was good and the bar is reasonably priced. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Amazing stay, lovely views and all attractions nearby

We had a lovely stay in the hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the location is beautiful. Very convenient for Antur Stiniog, literally next door!

Great place to stay and rooms and hotel were fantastic, clean and well equipped to a high standard. Food was great although a little expensive. Only issue was with constant mistakes on orders and billing, meals and drinks charged to wrong rooms. Plenty of food at breakfast but have to say the coffee served is the worst I have ever tasted. I did not know that I could order a normal coffee from the bar without being charged. That said the whole experience was fantastic and the staff were all so very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

We had a great stay! Food was really good and the hotel was very clean. We stayed in the access room which was lovely, however it could have done with a mirror on the console table as the only mirror to get ready (apart from the bathroom but the floor was wet after having a shower) was the mirror by the door which wasn't next to any plug sockets.
Location was stunning! We did a hike which was provided from the website. Overall, we'd 100% go back!

Great place to stay in the centre of most activities for my children and myself , staff friendly, room was very comfortable and the cleaning kept up really nice each day we stayed , the only negative would be the breakfast service, on a few occasions they were short on the food until I brought it to there attention and then had to wait until it was topped up , other than that great stay and would recommend.

Stayed in the shepherd’s hut for 2 nights. What a beautiful place! Absolutely breathtaking. The scenery is incredible. If you want somewhere to feel at utter peace with your mindset, have the cosiness appeal, and being able to explore then this is the magical place! The golf cart to the hut is an added touch of an adventure in itself, greeted by plentiful sheep along the way. The whole self-check in was smooth and straight forward. Would definitely recommend. We miss the place already and can’t wait to visit again.

Stayed in one of the Shepherds Huts, which offers breathtaking views across the valley. we enjoyed the experience overall, the only real critical point was we had no hot water from the shower on either day, which dampened our enjoyment.

Personally I'd like to see more defined paths and walks around the location which definitely wasn't the case from the Shepherds huts, but overall the experience was positive.

Love this place, the views are incredible. So cosy with the fireplace, the kids and dog absolutely love it. This is our second visit and we’ll definitely be back soon.

Fantastic 3-night stay despite a February wind storm and torrential rain! We were warm and dry in the cabin. The walk down to the car was steep, but part of the experience. Everyone was super helpful and answered any queries immediately. If you're staying in winter, you WILL need all the heaters on as well as the wood fire going all of the time.

A great place, the landscape slightly different like all but very interesting. Service very helpful, very good equipment in a tent. .

This was a great adventure! We took our small dog with us and had a lovely stay. Picked up on check in and driven up the steep hill. Never used a log burner before but they gave me some tips on starting it and I'm glad I mastered it as it was bitterly cold when we stayed! Probably could have done with buying an extra bag for the morning as we had to wear our coats and grab our hot water bottles! Although the heated towel rail kept the bathroom cosy. The tent has everything you will need, we had a pizza kit and oven to use which was good fun too. There was a little noise from the nearby working quarries but you can expect that when you're staying in one, it didn't spoil our stay. We did hear some 'racers' in their vehicles for half an hour until 9pm using the quarry on the other side, not sure if this is a regular problem. The weather was lovely the next day so nice to warm up in the sun with a cuppa on the decking. We drove not far so could walk to Cwmorthin lake and waterfall which was lovely and got supplies in at Co-Op in Blaenau. I would like to try the Shepherds Huts next time with the sauna.

This place was lovely and definitely an upscale glamping experience. I didn't expect it to match the photos but it did and the facilities were great the water hot and the views absolutely lovely. The only feedback I would give would maybe put a sign on the tap because my god is it hot!
The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly, responded quickly and the additions are really great, we got the pizza add on and all the extras seem really worth it. Was really impressed by all the little touches and extras provided and our dogs loved it as well.

Brilliant 2 night stay, the view is absolutely breath taking, I booked it as a surprise for my wife’s birthday, I ordered the pizza making kit & meat pack also extra logs for the log burner, everything was perfect for a peaceful getaway with hiking trails on your doorstep, also the staff in the glamping office went out of their way to help you, I didn’t get both of the names but vicky was lovely.

Already thinking of a summer escape with them again.

Stayed in a Llechwedd Tent for one night and it was lovely. Lots of really nice touches, very cosy and really comfortable beds. The log burner was easy to use.

The track up is very steep as noted on the website, so taking up the offer of the team to drive you and luggage up and down is recommended if you find steep paths difficult.

Didn’t want to leave….really looking forwards to a return visit, and planning a fondue set or pizza oven hire next time!

Great place to stay to escape busy life. Huge tent, all amenities that you will need. Log burner keeps it warm too with loads of logs. Hot water bottles for all, beds warm and comfy and shower room is great! We loved the location and peace! The view was amazing! We stayed with 3 kids and 2 adults for 2 nights and had plenty of space! Took our own food, fridge was huge and cooking equipment great!

The Plas Weunydd team have done a great job in creating a unique and memorable place to stay!

The five shepherd's huts really are up in the wilds, it was great to have the opportunity to stay overnight somewhere so out of the way surrounded by the mountains of Eryri, especially somewhere with all the comforts.

I imagine it was deemed unsuitable to have people driving their cars up the track to their hut, but the solution in the form of a 10 minute drive in your own private golf buggy only adds to the experience!

We thought the shepherd's hut may be a bit chilly, but it really wasn't, the log burner made it very comfortably warm.

And the idea to put a sauna in the middle of nowhere was brilliant!

The only thing we thought that could improve things would be the addition of a little picnic bench to sit outside to eat. It didn't bother us given it was October, but in summer I imagine an outdoor table would be appreciated.

And for anyone who's worried about being disconnected from the outside world, the mobile data signal was 4G and excellent (I was using O2).

All in all we would thoroughly recommend a stay here at Barlwyd 😀
