I got in touch with this company on Facebook Marketplace. Dealing with an individual by the name Jag. I needed a tv mounted and security camera installed. I later canceled on the tv mounting service as I found someone who could do it cheaper and faster. I wanted to cancel the camera mount as well but he insisted he already ordered the special corner mount. Keep in mind, this individual was located in Calgary and I was in Toronto. He basically outsourced and found a handyman and collected money for nothing. When the serviceman showed up, it was pouring rain and he had no mount. He left and came back with a piece of metal that he probably found on the side of the road...I suggested we reschedule because of the rain....he waited for the rain to let down, then installed ita few hours later....I contacted Jag that the mount, i did not approve of it and that he should remount the camera with a proper corner brace. He charged me $250 for 10 minutes of work. He said he would reorder proper mount and have tech come out next week. Weeks went by and no tech showed up so I demanded he refund a portion of the money he charged me for the bracket.....weeks went by and constant messages with no response. I honestly am urging anyone to steer far from this company. All they do is outsource the work. If I could have given them a negative rating, I would have.....
I absolutely, 100% would NOT recommend this company. My story is just a horrible one that I’d do my best to summarize. First of all, Jaggi was called in to mount our TV for which he charged $390+ for. During mounting, he was extremely careless- the wifi box dropped multiple times (at this time I was upstairs and did not witness this- my husband did). When he finished mounting, the wifi went out. At this time, we thought it was temporary. I then asked him later on if he does wardrobe installations. I’m
Pregnant and we’re working on our nursery. I wanted the ikea pax system. He advised he does and in fact has a contractor who does it. This was the beginning of our nightmare. The contractor, came in the following day and took measurements of the wardrobe space- it is a 157cm wardrobe space. A fairly small space. Jaggi sends us a $4000 quote with a pax system of $2,500, claiming that our wardrobe would be custom. Mind you, all they were doing was mounting the wardrobe and then framing out the door to make it look cleaner. I asked several times if there was no way to reduce the price, he insisted it was “a lot of work.”
To be fair, we were ignorant and could have done a lot more research. After deliberating with my husband, we decided we’re better off going with somebody else. Jaggi became, in retrospect, aggressive. I wish I could upload an image of the chat. His words “out of respect, it’s not fair…. Bla bla bla. I was extremely polite and explained we have a lot to do in the nursery and cannot spend $4000 on a wardrobe. At this time I had myself started looking on IKEA and discovered $2500 for the wardrobe alone before labour was way overpriced!
He did not relent. He called my husband separately who also said we had decided to move on. And then ultimately got his technician to give us a call and try to convince us. Long story short, he reduced the bill to $3,097 (still ALOT), and asked me to pay in FULL! I said I was more comfortable paying parts and then rest when the job is complete. He sent me multiple reminders to sign the proposal. I signed on February 16th, paid $2,000 deposit on same February 16th and we agreed the job would be done between March 15-20. Soon as I signed and paid, there was no response. I had to send him a message asking if he got my payment? He claimed he was out for family day. All of a sudden the person who would message me at 10pm, 11pm to sign the proposal became Cold and distant.
To cut this absolutely horrible story short, March 15 came and passed, there was no wardrobe, or no installation. March 23rd, he messages us saying parts of the wardrobe are out of stock- ALMOST FIVE WEEKS AFTER! Immediately, knowing we already made a mistake sticking with him anyway, we asked for a refund. Mind you, the night he mounted our tv and the wifi stopped working, he tried to fix it and it didn’t work. We had to get a Telus technician in the next morning who advised us that the wifi box was plugged into the wrong spot. Of course a weeks after we got a $175 bill for that technician callout. I told jaggi of this and he literally ignored my message and did not care to offer a simple apology.
Anyway, March 23rd, we ask for a refund, he says “I’ll pay on weekday as I’m out of office” through text. I told my husband to call and get a precise date because he’s a dubious person. He promised he’ll refund the Tuesday or Wednesday. By Tuesday, he messaged us with this out-of-the-blue 30 day refund policy but that he’ll refund us within 14 days as per the Alberta Consumer Protection Act. Our refund deadline was then April 7th. I then sent him a follow up email letting him know if we’re not refunded, I’ll be escalating to the Alberta civil court. Rather than focusing on refunding, he sent my husband a message saying “your wife threatening to sue is absolutely unacceptable to anyone.”
Long story short, Jaggi did NOT refund as of April 7th past close of office hours, despite sending me a message few days prior advising me not to send him any further reminders and that I will get my refund BEFORE April 7th. Until I advised him since he had been in my home and was capable of this level of deceit while operating under a registered company, I’d be getting the RCMP involved! Which I infact was ready to and had reached out to the head office.
My email got to him April 7th at 11:19pm, he refunded via interac which was our move of payment, at 11:31pm. This guy had ZERO intention to pay. Meanwhile the first thing I advised when we gave him the contract was that I needed a stress free process due to being pregnant.
I would not recommend this company to anyone! Go to taskrabbit if u need things done. Want a camera mounted? Call ur service provider!! Go to bestbuy. STAY AWAY! He’s deceitful, and he LIES every step of the way. This entire process was such a horror I needed a few days to myself before leaving this review.
Worst company ever with inferior installers …. Had an installer hook up my gas bbq and totally botched it up and had to have someone else fix the mess he left and it took installer a week to do a one day job. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY!!!!
We decided to wall mount and through google search Pixl popped up. I contacted them and I received a return call within a few minutes. They answered every one of my questions . We booked an appointment and the installation was perfect . The installer used laser technology to make sure the alignment was 100% correct . The finished product was perfect . Everyone who has seen it have commented on how professional the TV looks. Highly recommend.
I had set up a TV installation and receiver calibration with Pixl and I was asked to pay for this service prior to the appointment date and I did pay $409.48 on my credit card.
I decided I did not require any help with the installation or calibration and cancelled the appointment well in advance of the scheduled date.
I was informed that a full refund would be credited back to mug credit card within 30 days.
After contacting Pixl about my refund I was informed that they put a cheque in the mail in the midst of a postal strike and no refund would be credited to my credit card.
So I have to wait until the postal stike ends and wait for my refund cheque to arrive via email.
The company’s policy is NOT a 30 day full refund it’s a refund of their choice and in this situation a ridiculous way to try and process my refund was their policy and I was rudely dismissed when I asked why they would put a cheque in the mail during a postal strike!
I would highly recommend that you do not use this disrespectful and discourteous company for any home TV services- they are NOT a logical (or reasonable) company to deal with and they have some rather unsavoury company policies that they change to suit their needs vs what a reasonable company would use to refund a prepaid service that was cancelled in plenty of time to process a refund via the original method of payment!
Stay away from Pixl Canada - buyer beware!
