GPS tracker restrictions to use

Unfortunately the GPS tracker does not work "in tight spaces, indoors or heavily wooded areas", as well as taking some time to connect to the satellites when you are out of these restricted spaces.

We walk our dogs in the woods, and was concerned that if he was found, they may be taken to refuge, to someone's house, the vets or even stary into a derelict warehouse or similar and we shall not be able to track them.

This restriction was not noted upon the PitPat website! - I feel this should be highlighted - disappointing!

As mentioned on our website, the long-range satellite signals PitPat GPS uses don’t penetrate indoors well, so sadly you can’t use it to track your dog in your (or anyone else’s) house or if they’re in daycare/kennels. The same can be said about heavily wooded areas or underground that the GPS does need a clear view of a satellite to be able to connect and display an accurate location.

I can see you have already requested a refund from us.

This tracker works well

This tracker works well. Have not had to use the 'Find my Dog' yet but it does work and gives peace of mind.

I have a PitPat GPS tracker for each of…

I have a PitPat GPS tracker for each of my dogs (A Doberman, A Long Haired Dachshund, and a miniature Dachshund) and recently the gps tracker for my Long Haired Dachshund came off (my fault because I didn’t adjust the dogs collar as it was a new one). I used the app to find the tracker and it pinpointed the exact location - on the map it told me where to go and moved closer and closer to the dog icon. I looked on the floor of the field and it was there.So impressed and the customer service is amazing. It’s also worth paying the subscription for PitPat life as I have had two first aid kit, collapsible bowls, and a dog bath set all in the space of a year.

Every time I take my hound out I turn…

Every time I take my hound out I turn it on to ‘start a walk’ before I get to the area because I have never picked up a signal within 20 minutes of starting it. It’s been so annoying. It can’t be EVERYWHERE I go, has bad signal? I have to wait to let him off lead. Sometimes I can’t at all and it’s so frustrating.

Prompt response and delivery

I couldn't get a signal when first bought the tracker. Customer service responded quickly.
We are yet to try this if our escapee gets out again thankfully, but it's really helpful to know where she is in the garden, especially when it's dark

Been looking at getting a dog tracker with no fee's

Been looking at getting a dog tracker for my large dog Zeus so that I can take him out with confidence. The £25 discount was what swung it for me when choosing PitPat. Using it to track my walks with Zeus in our Stand up to Cancer April walks.

Very good support service from the…

Very good support service from the PitPat team. My old tracker couldn’t be recharged so I was offered a 50% discount on a new one which arrived the day after and was back on my dog within 24 hours. Prompt and courteous service always from the team.

Velcro straps purchase.

Purchased further velcro straps to secure pitpal to collar. Same was forwarded very quickly and is working well.

It would be an idea to review design of pitpat to avoid the need to remove velcro each time product is recharged.

3rd pitpat tracker faulty

This is now the 3rd pitpat tracker I have changed as they have had a fault with them just as they say my 1 year is up for warranty they have replaced them but only when I have said that I payed good money for supposed too be the best on the market to keep my dog safe and for how much they cost you would expect it too last more than 1 year

It relies on a mobile phone signal

It relies on a mobile phone signal, and coverage where I live is poor to non-existent. Hence the device marked my dog as out of contact for 3 hours when she was at home all the time. So how would it work if she was away from the house in an area with equally poor mobile coverage.
On the plus side, customer service was great: they accepted the return and gave a prompt refund.
