It was a super easy
It was a super easy, well informed experience start to finish. The surveyor had to deal with a very tricky and fairly unique situation with one of my neighbours and did so professionally and fairly. The fees were as quoted despite the complications mentioned above delivered within the estimated timeframe. I would highly recommend PBS, and especially James Merewether AssocRICS MFPWS.

Highly recommended
Highly recommended! I needed a surveyor to assist with a Capital Gains tax report regarding the value of a property in 2012. Responses to enquiries was efficient, good communication can be praised and timely delivery of the valuation in the time frame that they indicated from the start! Thank you Peter Barry Surveyors.

False marketing and untrustworthy
Be careful of this company. This company unfortunately sends fraudulent letters to solicit business - which can be quite dangerous and cause conflicts with neighbours.
They sent a letter to me alleging that our neighbours are undertaking construction work and hence we should engage their services for PartyWall work (which I neighbours would be obliged to pay work). Completely false marketing and untrustworthy company. Avoid.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that our letter caused concern.
To clarify, the letter you received simply advised that your neighbours had recently submitted a planning application which appears to include works covered by the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. At this stage, we have only reviewed the description of the proposed works. As stated in the letter, at no cost or obligation to you, we would be happy to obtain the plans from the planning portal and provide a summary of how you and your property may be affected.
Our intention is never to mislead or cause any difficulty between neighbours. We aim to ensure homeowners are aware of potential works nearby and understand their rights under the Act.
If you would like us to review the application in more detail or if you have any further concerns, we would be happy to help.
Kind Regards

Professional and bespoke service.
I was very impressed with the level of expertise and knowledge of the surveyor Shaun. His survey report was specific, detailed and not full of generic statements. It was clear that Shaun had taken time to consider elements of the property carefully before writing up the report. Furthermore, I had very prompt and pleasant communication with their administrator, Joanne.

The Very Best!
I found Peter Barry after an extensive and exhaustive online search, and chose to go with them because they had the best reviews, bar none.
I subsequently commissioned a RICS Level 3 Home Survey and was quoted a price of £1,390 + VAT for the survey and estimated cost of repairs.
The survey was not only detailed, but the surveyor Robin called me up after to give me a summary over the phone, and then promptly answered my follow-up questions that helped to put my mind at ease.
It's hands down the best experience I've had in the house buying process, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them for anyone wanting a survey.

Peter Barry Surveyors - Great service and efficiency
We found Peter Barry Surveyors via an AI search as we needed a party wall surveyor for a rather complex party wall rebuilding issue. Jaynell Mainoo handled our case and we are extremely happy with the service and the efficiency. We will definitely ask for Jaynell again if needed.
