We're abroad and for 5 days cannot access the website or their app. No access to our funds. When we called we were told it was resolved, when we pointed out that infact their systems still weren't working we were told we could make a formal complaint... No actual assistance. No approximate date on when the issue would be resolved- just told to access the app... The app that isn't working. As another stated, one star is overly generous

If your going abroad and need access to transferring funds electronically for bookings, etc then DONT USE PTSB. Make sure you use a reliable provider. We were in Cape Town over Easter. Once the app stopped working we couldn't download and couldn't contact anyone as no customer care service over the entire Easter period. Their new logo ALLTOGETHER MORE HUMAN is really taking the piss! Will be looking for a new provider when we get home.

I was very sceptical to move to PTSB after my bank (Ulster Bank) was closing, now I am sure it was biggest mistake of my life their App is always down their atm is often down in Limerick city you can't lodge the money and the one in Raheen dont allow it only inside the bank it self, avoid this bank their quick enough to take ur money but hard to resolve issues often Pakistan ppl on the phone hard to trust me with ur details etc...

4 days now their app down. This happens over and over. Inept, useless, unprofessional, incompetent, just a start. PTSB app, what a joke. Nobody in the company providing any leadership at all for their customers. App and online banking is down and nobody is working/ no one thought outside the box.
Systematic incompetence from the top down. A change in leadership is needed - maybe the Govt need to step in and hire someone that is not a chair swinger.

They cancelled my card when I was on holidays. I was recently on holidays in Belgium I bought 1 item and used my PSTB Visa debit card for 3 journeys on the tram after which the card did not function for the rest of the trip. I had informed the bank I would be in Belgium on there open24 system. I used my trusty N26 card for the rest of the trip I was lucky to have it. I wrote to the Bank to complain and a totally unsatisfactory response issued asking me "when did I make a phonecall" and stating they considered the matter closed and I could appeal the decision to the Financial Services Ombudsman. There was no explanation of what happened and no apology. Well guess what I do not consider this matter closed this is the second bad experience I have had with PTSB. I will be closing my account with PTSB ASAP and opening a current account with Bank of Ireland who have shown me much better customer service to me in the past.
6days..no able to see account status
I can see that I'm not the only one , I can open messages centre on my app anything else but I can't see status on my account,I think that bank is using client money to invest or anything like that as it's constant issue in past month and im about to change a bank as I have no access to my money to do transfer etc. Disgraceful ..it's 6th day already as I don't have access to my account money..I can't check status or make any transfer ,but I can apply for a loan or mortgage or check a message box 🤣 but can't check my account
An overly generous 1 Star!
Somehow 1 Star seems ridiculously generous. The App is pointless. It seems to be continuously under maintenance and inaccessible. I avoid their branches as much as I can since their lodgement machines work about as much as the App and if you do need help from an actual human being you have to wait around until one appears from among the rows of empty offices. The worst thing is the lack of information whenever the app stops functioning. You would think since it happens so often, they could devote one member of staff to posting regular updates and keeping their customers informed. PTSB - Permanently Trouble-Shooting Bank! Time to move elsewhere.
If it's an option...bank elsewhere or you'll be left bald
They need to fire the provider of their app or their inhouse developers. The app is a shit show. I am always having issues getting access. Telling me I have no internet. Please... While other banking facilities have excellent, customer friendly, usable apps. Get with the programme PTSB. Sort your shite out.
Don't bother!
The app is down again - just before a 2 day Bank Holiday weekend. No information about when it might be possible to log in from "Customer Service" ( twice this morning, after long waiting times.....) I'm not sure there is much point continuing with this bank.

stay well away ....rang this morning to get last three months statements of our account ....after OVER 30 minutes on the phone ...mostly listening to someones idea of muzak...and answering 'security' questions that iv never even been asked to access open 24 i was told that i FAILED !!!!!the security test and they coudnt send out the statements ... .just a nightmare to deal with ...in contrast rang EBS to do same .....three minutes on the phone and statements are on their way too us ... mind you its likewise in local branch offices ..actual staff in the EBS ..who somehow remember your name and ALWAYS greet you with smile and ''what can we do for you today Frank'' really is incredible that still happens considering in local ptsb branch its mostly (try)serve yourself with one staff(or agency)person there who doesnt know anyone coming through the door . ..

This Ptsb branch in Tallaght discriminates against foreigners. They refuse to open them accounts. I completed a form online and was asked to bring my ID to the branch. I have checked the website and all the documents that can be used as proof of ID and Address. I took four papers: two proofs of ID and two proofs of address. Only one form of ID and one Address is required, but I went the extra mile by knowing how they are. This staff (male) did photocopies and told me I would get a confirmation in 3 days. He did not give me any letter or account number. He even asked me my UK address even though I have relocated to Dublin. I can't wait to hear the excuse they would give me. It's disgusting how they treat people just because of the colour of their skin. They did the same to my black friend. She took her passport and bank statement from another bank and was told to return to the branch in three days with the same document, only to be told she couldn't open an account because she already had another bank. They are racist in Tallaght and avoid them by all means if you are a foreigner.
Rude with false sense of power
This guy from the lending department decided to reject my application for a 5000 loan for home improvements, during a phone call, because he wasn't convinced that I had correctly calculated the budget for this project.
A 5000 loan was rejected because of this and only this reason. Through a phone call.
I'm still processing what I witnessed here....
Cash ISA for the aging technophobe.
Having spent the weekend sweating about how to invest in a Cash ISA (and who to invest with) and having 5% internet ability, I drove across Sheffield to the TSB Meadowhall branch. Being a long-term TSB current account holder, it seemed natural to seek help there. I spent a quality half-hour with Chris Walker who was able to see me immediately, without an appointment. Chris talked me through the varied options regarding Cash ISAs. His clear, friendly advice, especially regarding the limited ability I had to navigate my own phone App, made it possible to set up my ISA without delay. I am looking forward to another visit next month to invest further funds with Chris. Thank you TSB.
