Save yourself the drama and stay clear of this incompetent garage! We purchased a vehicle which had a fault on mot history 6 months ago, we were told it just needed a software update and was carried out at the time. We went to collect a week later when the mot was eventually carried out. On arrival there was significant damage including rust to the door which wasn’t shown in the videos, they reduced the price so we took the car to then find out there was only 1 key when it was listed as 2. After driving an hour n half the engine light comes on, fault code had been removed and the oil was congealed. There was never any software update carried out, This was a complete lie, the garage who did the mot confirmed they didn’t do a software update but the fault “disappeared” (deleted) so he passed it. The car wasn’t even fit to drive and it had just been checked by their mechanic that morning! They collected the car 3 days later and refunded our money however they took the car back with a full tank of fuel of our money and refuse to reimburse us. We also did a 4 hour round trip for this. The service and the way we were spoken to by George was disgusting.

When I attended a scheduled appointment to collect my van, the salesperson I was booked to meet was not there. His manager told me he had gone for lunch, colleagues said he was on a test drive, and after waiting for around 45 minutes the salesperson himself told me he had “popped home.” At no point was there an apology for the delay or the inconvenience caused.
A few weeks later the van flagged a warning light. My local garage plugged the vehicle into their diagnostic system and identified the issue as the DPF filter. I informed your garage of this and booked the van in for a replacement.
As no courtesy vehicles were available, I had to block out an engineer for the entire day to sit with the van while the work was carried out. However, when the van arrived for the appointment, all that was done was to plug the van in and confirm exactly what had already been diagnosed — that the DPF filter needed replacing. The filter was not replaced, meaning the entire day and the engineer’s time were wasted.
When I raised this with the manager and asked for the van to be booked back in for the replacement, there was again no apology — just a brief one-line email asking someone else to deal with it.
There appears to be very little respect for customers’ time. In this case, a simple acknowledgement and apology would have gone a long way toward improving the experience.
I currently operate a fleet of Transit vans and had planned to acquire at least two or three more this year. Based on this experience, however, I will not be returning.
Peoples Ford bootle
I visited peoples in Bootle to have a service done on my van. I was quoted one price./then when I went to pick the van up the price changed I complained to the service receptionist she said they would put the difference back on my card that was in December. I am still waiting for the refund not good.

I purchased a brand new Ford E-Custom van, and the day after it was delivered, I noticed a significant gap at the bottom of one of the doors. I informed the dealer about the issue, and they told me it was no problem; I should take it to a local Ford dealership for repairs. However, the local dealership refused and stated that the van would need to be fixed at a body shop, with all the nuts and fittings needing to be resprayed to match the van.
Frustrated with the situation, I decided to cancel the deal and requested a rejection of the purchase. The dealer refused, claiming they needed a chance to resolve the issue. They seem to be unaware of the legal obligations under the 2015 Sale of Goods Act. Since I requested a rejection, they have stopped responding to my emails, showing a clear lack of interest in resolving the matter.
This has been a shocking experience, as it's hard to believe that a brand new van could be delivered in such poor condition. After the company inspected the van, they confirmed that both doors and the bonnet exhibit poor build quality for a brand new Ford E-Custom van.

Bought a ford foccus in June after 3 days the car wouldn't start called the break down recovery who where very good. The battery was not fit for purpose as it was dead. Cost me £215 for a new battery. I showed prove of the AA report and cost of battery. But peoples of falkirk where not interested in helping me regarding this the bottom line is they gave me a car with a battery that was done. I would not recommend this branch. And I will never give them . My business again.
My Daughter Ford Puma.
I helped my Daughter buy her Ford Puma from Peoples Livingston. Craig McLean, which I always use, was again fantastic. He got the car transported from Sighthill quickly and got wee bits and pieces sorted our and an excellent valet. Craig also managed to organise her private plate change ready for my Daughter picking it up. The good thing about Peoples is no one pushes you to get a sale like other garages. Craig is also very informative regarding spec of car etc. another 5 stars to Craig and a special mention to Richard, the Manager.
Bought a car end of July 2025
Bought a car end of July 2025, know fault with DAB system booked a repair but two days before software controlling many things went haywire. Since then this is the third time it has been in, this time for 8+ days. Tried to get info yesterday but failed promised two call backs but never happened. Yes I have a courtesy car but that is not the point. If they can't sort then I will have to seek legal assistance to get a replacement or full refund. (Ha Ha). Hopefully someone reads this another rubbish review and does something positive.

Worst customer service
Very bad customer service. I paid for a car in the 16 October but they delivered the car 3oth October for do the door painting. But they didn't paint just take a dent remove its do more better alocal workshop.. Strogly disagree this showroom, 👎👎

Had a great experience at People Ford in Falkirk, dealt with Adrian who gave us 5 * service also the other staff a wee girl with long dark hair and the manager who couldn't have made us feel more welcome making us coffee conversing with us until Adrian was free. Would 100% recommend going to Falkirk branch and dealing with Adrian and the staff in there. My man left a very happy new car owner
Unprofessional bad service - AVOID
The worst experience dealing with a company in my life. If they say "we want to make this right" or "gesture of good will" do not believe them, because they will just make things worse.
My car has been in for 30d+ for diagnosis and replacement of an electronic component. It is still not fixed. I have given up and booked in elsewhere.
1. Multiple times promising to collect the car and not turning up.
2. Offering a valet "to make things right". Car is returned without floor mats. When I rang I was accused of lying to get free stuff. Not hinted at, full on told I was lying. To get car mats...then they find the mats and return them.
3. Car brought in because they have the part. I'm told it's taking longer to fix than they expect, they keep it in for 5d over a weekend and then tell me they are still waiting on the part. It never turns up, they return car to me untouched.
4. They cancelled a collection then sent someone to collect the car anyway, who was visibly annoyed at me that they'd made the mistake and wasted "his" time.
5. Now they only have bookings over a month away, clearly fobbing me off.
My advise is to avoid at all costs. I can see several reviews like this here and wish I'd taken their advice. They are rude, unprofessional, and can't fix your car.

Excellent customer service from John Reid at Peoples Hermiston Gate, Edinburgh. John was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He took time to talk us through the entire process and kept us totally updated. His patience was greatly appreciated and he made the process really smooth. It was a pleasure dealing with John.
Disability parking abused. Motability garage ??
Went to People's Ford in Speke Liverpool yesterday. Looking for a mobility car. Signs were very confusing and no spaces . I parked and then was told off for being in the wrong place, so I had to move.
No disability spaces, they were mostly

Very poor service
I visited the Speke sales room on 08/09/25 and was disappointed by the lack of attention from sales staff. There were few new cars on display. Very poor customer service even though I wanted to order a new car. The Toyota dealership in Bootle could show them how to treat customers

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction following a recent service experience at your dealership on 13th August. What I expected was a professional, transparent, and trustworthy service from a reputed brand like Ford. Unfortunately, what I received was the exact opposite.
I brought my car in for an essential service and MOT, expecting a thorough and honest assessment. Instead, I was presented with an expense sheet that was both shocking and unjustifiable—over £1500 in recommended repairs, many flagged as critical (RED), making it feel more like a pre-MOT scare tactic than a genuine evaluation. On top of that, the essential service itself was charged separately at £240.
This was for a car I believed to be in good condition, with only one known issue I had already anticipated. I had hoped to use genuine Ford parts, but quickly realized that even non-Ford parts were priced exorbitantly, making the entire process feel inaccessible and unreasonable. I ultimately had the same work completed at a trusted garage for under £400—a stark contrast that raises serious questions about your pricing and integrity.
However, the most alarming part came just days later. On 21st August, I received a brake fluid alert on my dashboard. This is unacceptable and dangerous, especially considering the brake fluid had supposedly been replaced during the service(Essential Service for £240). A trusted friend, an automobile engineer, advised me not to drive the car due to safety concerns. Yet, your team casually suggested I drive it back to the workshop at 8 AM, despite the clear risk involved.
Upon inspection, my friend discovered that the bleed nut had not been tightened, causing brake fluid to leak. This is a serious oversight that could have led to a catastrophic failure on the road. It reflects a disturbing lack of attention to detail and safety protocols within your service department.
This experience has left me with no trust in People's Ford Edinburgh. I would strongly advise others to reconsider using your services, as the risks and costs involved are simply too high.
I expect a formal response addressing the following:
A detailed explanation of the service failures.
An acknowledgment and apology for the inconvenience and safety risk.
Assurance of corrective measures to prevent such incidents.
Please treat this matter with the seriousness it warrants and respond promptly.

Diagnostics report…
I gave my Ford focus to Peoples Ford Livingston garage, to do diagnostics for gearbox, because my 1st gear is not working properly, it’s not engaging sometimes, and I said to them this problem. After almost 6 hours I went to collect my car and see this diagnostics report what’s this problem is about gearbox, because I thought they will write something specific like, switcher, synchroniser or maybe a clutch, you know. But they said on report that 1st gear is not engaging or disengaging, (my own words) and that they don’t know what’s the problem actually is. And I need to order new gearbox, then they will take old one out and put new one. And then they will see what’s the problem was for previous gearbox. And for diagnostics I need to pay 168£. Basically I paid for nothing. Why I think like that is because I still drive this car, and all other gears work perfectly just this 1st gear SOMETIMES don’t want to engage in gear, but before I start driving and if I put in 2nd and then back in 1st. There is no problem at all. That’s why I don’t think I need buy new gearbox for almost 3 grand to replace something small. But this time I will take this car to gearbox specialists, who will take it off and do actual diagnostics. At first I thought they will do something like that at Peoples Ford.

Filled in the forms online for a test drive of the new explorer, got a phone call from head office the next morning asked a few questions and she said i will put you through to the Prescott dealership, 5 mins later couldn't get through so she asked me was I available all morning, I said yes as was told someone would definitely ring byv11.30 ,two days later still waiting, no wonder the reviews are so bad. I have arranged a test drive at a citroen dealership they want to do business
