The BORDA Standard course delivered by Iain was exactly what I was after. Tailored to my needs and the capabilities of my vehicle, access to excellent trails and delivered at a good pace with plenty of time for discussion and reflection. I left having a clear understanding of the capabilities of my vehicle and a great set of tools for assessing risk, picking lines and active decision-making when on the hill / trail. Overall a really excellent course and trainers that I can recommend wholeheartedly.

I recently completed the BORDA Off‑Road Driving – Standard Level course with Peak Training Scotland, taught by Iain, and it was excellent from start to finish. The training was thorough, informative, and clearly delivered, with a strong focus on safety throughout.

Iain’s approach made the day genuinely engaging and enjoyable, striking the right balance between technical instruction and hands‑on experience. I came away with a solid understanding of the techniques, increased confidence behind the wheel, and had a great time doing it.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to develop proper off‑road driving skills with a professional, well‑structured course.

Attended the ATV course with Iain. Course was very informative, challenging but also enjoyable. Iain set out a lot of tasks that suited the terrain and situations commonly encountered in our line of work which was great. Would highly recommend.

We did the BORDA 4x4 training course and it was definitely worth it. Iain was super knowledgeable and made the day so fun for my team and I. The views of Loch Lomond were stunning at the top of the hill and the routes to get there were so exciting to drive over. It hardly even felt like a training course and more so a great day out with my work colleagues, all thanks to the great team at Peak Training. I can happily say I feel confident heading out onto rough tracks and knowing how to handle hard obstacles that come my way. Thanks guys!!

I had the opportunity and privilege to take part in an ATV training event this week. We started off with instruction in the operation and basic mechanics of the vehicles moving on to safety. This was then augmented with practical supervised outdoor training based on real scenarios.
The instructors were excellent always willing to listen and the experience was great, alongside colleagues and new friends. I would recommend this to anyone who works outdoors and needs to develop or sharpen their skills.

Big thanks to Iain and the guys at Peak Training for a fun and relaxed, yet informative course.
The equipment they provided was of a high standard and the tuition, although professional, was delivered in a way that made the course enjoyable from start to finish.

Had a great time doing off road/4x4 driver training with our trainer John. Very well ran day and felt a-lot more competent behind the wheel afterwards off road!

I recently completed a day of 4x4 off road driver training with
Iain and Stuart at Peak Training Scotland. They made this a great experience from start to finish, professional training delivered in a very relaxed manner. We covered the theory before going out onto the hills above Loch Lomond for practical training in one of their vehicles. A most informative, enjoyable and worthwhile day.

I went through BORDA off road driver training with the guys at Peak Training and the experience was great from start to finish. From all the info about the vehicles we’d be driving to all the techniques out on the tracks and roads, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Iain answered any questions I had all while having a good laugh throughout the entire day to bring the whole experience together. Couldn’t recommend these guys enough for any driver training you might want to do yourself!

Training for ATVS with Peak Training was a extremely informative experience. All the staff at SITKA tree services finished feeling confident, knowledgeable with a broad understanding of course.

The Team at Peak Training are excellent.

From initial point of contact to enquire about training options through to delivery, there was no such thing as a daft question and nothing was a trouble for them.

The learning environments were well picked for the two courses that I attended.

Iain was able to explain all the technical information in ways that everyone could understand, from diagrams, videos to the point he even jacked up one of the vehicles to show us what was actually happening in relation to diffs.

The balance between theory and practical was well managed and opportunities for learning were given a plenty.

Mistakes were reframed into teachable moments.

I would highly recommend Peak Training for their relaxed yet safe, factual and structured delivery.

The terrain was brilliant for proper off-road training — rough forestry tracks, muddy climbs, steep technical ground and even some fording sections. It felt like a real-world working environment rather than a controlled demo loop, which made the training far more valuable.

Our instructor, Iain, was welcoming, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. What really stood out was his teaching style: clear explanations, inclusive delivery, and a well-structured plan of what we’d be covering. He encouraged open discussion around policies, procedures and how to implement them on-site, which made the day feel tailored and practical.

My favourite part of the training was tackling the really technical ground — getting the quads stuck (deliberately!) and learning safe, correct recovery techniques. It was realistic, hands-on and directly applicable to the environments many of us work in.

I came away with a stronger understanding of machine care and maintenance, lone working considerations, what equipment to carry, and refreshed confidence in key driving skills. The course reinforced what I already knew and pushed a few areas to a higher standard.

Nothing on the day came as a surprise — Peak Training had set expectations clearly from the outset and tailored elements of the course to meet our requirements.

As Treeline Forestry, we were genuinely impressed with the level of instruction and professionalism throughout the course, and we would be very happy to continue working with Peak Training in the future. Their approach aligns perfectly with the standards we expect on-site.

Overall, I left feeling confident, competent and genuinely satisfied. I’ll be recommending Peak Training to clients, contractors, and anyone needing high-quality off-road or quad bike training.
