Avoid Parking with Parkmaven.
They do not reply to any contact via their website.
They pass this fine on to a 3rd party debt collection service called DCBL. Some reviews say it's the branch of the same company. Signage at their car parks is not clear and always visible. Nice little cash cow they have going on here. Avoid their car parks!!

AVOID PARKMAVEN - Unless you enjoy being scammed and having your time wasted.
I parked in the Aston Court Hotel's car park in Derby to drop off two of my friends who were paying guests that were staying at this hotel. This was to allow them to get changed before driving them onto a club for the evening. I waited in my car for them to come back from their rooms for what was expected to be 10 mins, however the guests took 30 minutes to come back. I had checked for signs about parking and the only sign I saw was "For use by hotel guests only", so assumed I was ok to park. I would add that the car park was very poorly lit at night also.
Many months later, after 93 days had elapsed, I received a demand from the hotel's parking enforcement contractor "Parkmaven" for £100.
Thankfully I have access to a good lawyer and lodged an appeal against the the enforcement company's ticket with a promise to fight them in court with all means at my disposal. Incidentally they had already broken the industry POPLA rules by not notifying the keeper within 14 days for an ANPR offence, so at 93 days they were just trying it on. Needless to say they thought better of it, declined to fight me in court and waived the ticket.
Any companies or hotels that use this parking service provider I will boycott.
Too many businesses trying to use parking scams on their own customers, I suggest people vote with their wallets.
I just received a parking charge notice…
I just received a parking charge notice of £100 for parking my motorbike outside a shop which was not in a car parking space within the car park?
This is the first time anywhere in the world that charges are apparently levied for two wheeled vehicles- what a con!
Typically there is no phone number to call them, other than one an automated payment line.
It seems that I have no option than pay up!
This company needs to be shut down
This company needs to be shut down, they are criminals. My fine letter said that once an appeal has been received it resets the discount period, but they have completely ignored every correspondence I’ve sent (to their website, via email and directly to their complaints email) so I have no idea what’s going on and now I owe £100. They cannot be allowed to continue ignoring people and taking their money in this way.
Pursued me through the courts despite having evidence I had paid
I paid my £2.50 parking charge at the Whitgift Shopping Centre on 6 May 2022. I have bank statement evidence to prove it. Despite this, Parkmaven issued a Parking Charge Notice and pursued me through debt recovery agents and ultimately the County Court.
What is most alarming is that I later discovered through a Subject Access Request that Parkmaven's own staff were shown proof of my payment as early as September 2022 and made a deliberate decision to continue pursuing the charge regardless. This was never disclosed to me.
To make matters worse, Parkmaven took 47 days to respond to my Subject Access Request — exceeding the legal one month deadline — and the response arrived on the very same day a County Court Judgment was entered against me. I was therefore unable to use their own evidence in my defence.
I was ultimately forced to pay to avoid a CCJ on my credit record. This was not an admission of guilt. I had already paid. I have been forced to pay twice for the same parking session through no fault of my own.
I have since complained to the British Parking Association, the Information Commissioner's Office, and my MP. I would urge anyone facing similar treatment from this company to document everything and fight back.
Terrible company with zero ways to…
Terrible company with zero ways to contact them other than pay a fine for parking tha I paid for!! Zero stars 🤨
Stavely Cumbria avoid avoid avoid
Stavely Cumbria
We were not aware that we had to pay as did not see a machine .
We will not return and the businesses can manage without our money .
Appealed all 9 parking charges & all were cancelled!
Received 9 parking charges for parking in the same place over a period of one week. Every 'Notice to Keeper' had an error; either no date or time stamp on the photographic evidence or was dated after the two week period. Appealed on line & all 9 parking charges were cancelled.
Entered wrong VRN in error
Entered wrong VRN in error. (I am 80). Parkmaven allowed my appeal and then fined me £170 and passed me to baillifs. DCBL SAID that I had been offered a £20 fine, which I would have accepted, But they did not. Their complaints dept said they would reply in a set time period, which they did not. I think it is a thoroughly disreputable company.
Appalling company
Appalling company. Hard to contact. Their appeal website does not let you submit an appeal! Should be closed down for fraud!
Scam parking company
Sadly I have had to deal with company twice in two years and nothing as improved they still use the same methods to scam you ...no working appeals process to contest parking fines
I didn't even want to give a star
I didn't even want to give a star to them but I had to just to write this review.
The worst pretend company I've ever had the misfortune to hear from, I contacted them to advise I had not received a fine and this had meant I was unable to appeal a PCN I had no idea about! They have never tried to help. At times chosen to ignore me completely and operate in a disgusting manner scamming people and issuing CCJ's.
I cannot understand how any human would want to work for such a company, or how this is allowed to happen. I hope karma comes back to bite these people.
Received a second parking charge notice in March 2026 for parking which I had paid for in November 2025
I parked in a private car park next to flats on Shenley Road, Borehamwood, to visit our new baby grandson on 1st November 2025. As I have difficulty walking I was prepared to pay the parking fine rather than hobble in pain from the Shenley Road public car park. I paid the fine on 11th November by credit card.
I was, therefore, surprised and pissed-off to receive another parking charge notice issued 5th March 2006.
No customer service
I have written to Parkmaven or which they acknowledge receipt with no response. It is impossible to reach them and yet they continue sending demands. Total disregard to consumer rights.
Parking charge issued despite valid booking
In May 2025 I received a Parking Charge Notice from ParkMaven relating to Heathrow airport parking.
The issue was that the parking had actually been booked and paid for in advance through Compare The Parking. Evidence of the booking was provided during the dispute process.
Despite this, the charge was escalated and eventually passed to debt collectors (DCBL).
Over the following months I attempted to resolve the situation through correspondence and by submitting a Subject Access Request. The documentation provided during that process raised further questions, including inconsistencies about the location associated with the alleged parking event.
The process required dozens of emails and ultimately complaints to the DVLA, the Information Commissioner’s Office and the British Parking Association before the matter finally went quiet.
While the charge now appears to have been abandoned, resolving the issue required an unreasonable amount of time and persistence.
Customer service is a disgrace
Ignored messages sent via website and emails. Customer service is a disgrace. Will be contacting Ombudsman to resolve the matter that should have been dealt with months ago.
I think it's time consumer rights got…
I think it's time consumer rights got involved with this firm. These parking charges are not fine s they are more like alleged breach of contract. It is a civil matter , not a legal one. Popla are the best route for appeals . Trading Standards and consumer rights will be getting letters from me, after they continued to ignore the fact that I was at home with my kids , when the car was in their car park with my ex partner driving. They are ignorant arrogant bullies, that can not do their job properly.
