We sought out mediation after our marriage came to an end.

Our divorce has lasted around 2 years and been tough on the kids and all family members.

We had our separate consultations with Pam initially then 2 joint meetings.

She helped us sort out separation and also helped to write up all legal documents.

The entire process was carried out professionally, efficiently but also done with empathy.

Originally, I was hesitant about the idea of mediation, but the process turned out to be quite nerve-racking at times. The Mediator played a crucial role in keeping both parents focused, and eventually, we reached an agreement after two sessions. When both parties have similar interests, mediation is a great way to resolve issues, and it's more cost-effective than hiring lawyers! I highly recommend Pam Hatfield, but it's important to approach the process with an open mind. It was truly an exceptional service from beginning to end.

I had thought Pam was great during the mediation sessions, really fair, professional, understanding. But when writing up the parenting plan a key part for me has been missed despite discussing in mediation and asking for amendments. It’s meant that the plan can’t be signed without more mediation which seems ridiculous when i know it was discussed. (It was a sore point for my ex so definitely wasn’t missed). I was told I can’t submit new information but can remember word for word the conversation.
Left me in a difficult situation and I feel I’ve wasted my money despite being happy with the rest of the plan.

Despite the response to this review my ex backs me up regarding the conversations had during mediation. I will be happy to update this review when relevant.

Update 21/9
I have not heard from Pam since 5/9. She denies information that was mutually agreed previously in mediation as it wasn’t in her “meticulous” notes. The last email offered more mediation at our expense though both parties recall the conversation. As Pam stated in her response I do intend to formally complain.

Update. Just to clarify. No amendments were unilaterally added after mediation as BOTH parties agreed it was discussed IN mediation with Pam.
Need a mediator for my mediator now.
I will also add that when I informed Pam that my ex partner had been made aware that I would not sign till the issue was resolved, Pam sent that entire email to him. She could have just asked him if I’d updated him and what his position on the matter was. Quite unprofessional.
If I were to use the current plan, I’d be signing that child maintenance payments will stay the same permanently. The complaint relates to including the deadline for the current reduction as agreed during our last mediation session.

I cannot recommend Pam enough. She was very understanding and accommodating. I was supported and reassured during the process which I really needed as a single dad dealing with a difficult and conflictive child’s mother sabotaging access to my daughter. Pam is a great choice to handle mediation.

I took my time when looking for a mediator to source the best option for myself and my family. I spoke to several mediators whilst researching.
When I spoke to Pam Hatfield I knew she was the mediator I wanted to work alongside.

Pam was calm, attentive and listened to every detail. She was clear and concise and made additional helps and aids that I would not have thought of or considered.

I recently contacted Pam Hatfield for mediation due to an issue with access to my child. I had previously spoken with a number of other mediators, and found them to be unhelpful, and disinterested. Pam, on the other hand was immediately understanding, reassuring and non-judgemental, and enabled me and my ex-partner to come to an agreement that we had not been able to for the best part of a year; best of all, allowing me access to my child. During our mediation sessions I found Pam to be extremely professional, balanced and very true to her word. For example, sending the minutes of our meeting only a matter of hours later. I feel reassured that if any further issues arise, I will able to contact her via text or e-mail for further support and guidance, which makes a huge difference when dealing with such situations.
