Not suitable for PCOS like they say

I waited a while to leave this review because I wanted to give this product a fair go.

I have PCOS and have irregular cycles, and I do not get a flashing smile to show estrogen rises using clearblue urine test. This seemed like a good alternative.

The product is easy to use and comfortable to wear, but the app hasn't got the most intuitive interface.

I used it for 4 months and it did not predict my ovulation accurately (when I had a positive LH test). In another case it told me I had ovulated a few days in the past (not useful when trying to plan intercourse around LH surges!) rather than predicting it after a 3 day consecutive temperature increase like is suggested.

The product added confusion to my fertility journey, and I desisted using it all together after 4 months of failing to detect or predict my cycle, even though it is marketed at women with PCOS.

In order for OvuSense to provide a prediction of ovulation, it must be used consistently every day from when your period has finished, right up until you receive confirmation of ovulation. If you are thinking about it, just buy it now!

I got pregnant on cycle#2 while taking Provera and Clomid. I couldn’t believe that I was ovulating on day 50 of my cycle (I have PCOS)!

I hope my review of my experience can give hope and help someone. Miracles exist. I am and stopped birth control pills in September.

I had fake LH peaks with test strips and digital smiley face ovulation predictor earlier on in my cycle. So if I had believed them and had been using only them, I wouldn’t be pregnant now! I am so grateful for my OvuSense. Take it from me, buying OvuSense is the best thing you can do for your TTC journey!

OvuSense helped make my dream come true….

I used OvuSense for 4 months after being told that I would never conceive naturally. I proved the Doctor wrong, because we did! I’m now 12 & half weeks pregnant!

I never thought I’d be able to make a review like this from having PCOS. I found that that my day of ovulation was different each month and I only discovered that whilst using the sensor & app, so I’m absolutely sure I wouldn’t be pregnant without using this device.

Thank you to everyone at Ovusense – I couldn’t have done this without you!

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money, gimmick! Contacted the team that the device didn't work well and I was asked to provide proof - no matter how much was provided, it wasn't enough. They just want to take an annual subscription off you by making it lucrative - don't bother honestly! Stick to the strips, they work better. Customer service is weak and honestly, they don't want to work with you at all. More and more questions than support after an expensive subscription.

Thank you for your patience whilst I investigate this.
For OvuSense to provide an ovulation prediction and accurate confirmation of ovulation, it relies on the user wearing the sensor every night as soon as the period has finished, right up until ovulation is confirmed.
Unfortunately, having looked at your account it appears that OvuSense was not used correctly.

I can see that you mentioned some issues with connecting your Sensor, and our customer support team advised on multiple occasions that you needed to update to the latest software to do this.

We requested screenshots of your chart to try and establish if you were having syncing issues.

Unfortunately, after this time we did not receive a response from you to our emails, so therefore we were not able to continue troubleshooting.

Nothing but disappointment and stress

12 months on, and no results. The device doesn't always download data straight away, which has been quite distressing during my fertile window. I've had to tap it several times to get it to download. Sometimes I have had to leave it for 5 minutes and attempt the download again. It's also been stressful on at least 3-4 ocassions when subscription status has failed to update. I've also had issues with it when I've needed to get up in the night to go to the bathroom.

My battery life has expired today, just at the peak of my fertile window (my periods are irregular and don't follow the 30 days subscription! ), so to get the next 1-2 days of data (so I can get confirmation of ovulation), I will need to spend £42 on a new sensor and subscription. I'm not prepared to spend this for 1-2 days when I no longer wish to continue with Ovusense. Extremely disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I’m sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your OvuSense experience.
As explained by my colleague Kate, the OvuSense Sensor is a Class II medical device and is designed with an inbuilt battery that runs continuously from the date of registration and expires exactly 365 days from that date. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do in order to extend that battery life. The date of Sensor expiration is available to view on the daily data download page and information on replacing the Sensor annually is held within Section 17 of the ‘Help’ Section in the App User Guide.
We appreciate that many women don’t have regular or 30 day cycles, which is why there is no limit on the number of days a cycle may contain. The 30 Day Recurring Subscription, has been designed for the ease of monthly payments, rather than corresponding to cycle length. For Users who prefer to have a longer, continuous subscription, we also offer the Annual and One-Time Payment option.

Started using end October 2021 and was…

Started using end October 2021 and was pregnant by end of feb 2022 so 4 months in total, I have PCOS and very irregular periods so in that whole time I only had 2 periods, without this there would have been no way of knowing my body temp had changed and stayed high and that’s how I knew to take the pregnancy test as I could see it getting higher on the chart. Recommend to anyone desperate it’s worth every penny

Make Subscribing easier

This is more about the subscription than the device. Super annoying that if you're doing monthly you have to EMAIL to cancel. So I successfully got pregnant, wanted to cancel, I had to EMAIL back and forth with customer support had to tell them why, just make it possible in the app to stop and start subscription as needed

PPCOS and OvuCore

I have PCOS and read that OvuSense would be a good tracker when TTC. So I bought the most expensive package just to be safe, but I only had to use the OvuCore one cycle before I got pregnant. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and the OvuCore is collecting dust.

I HIGHLY recommend OvuSense

I HIGHLY recommend OvuSense! I have PCOS and struggled to conceive for years. I went to a few doctors and they all wanted me to track in the traditional way, which does NOT work for me so they assumed I wasn't ovulating. Only when I began using OvuSense did I finally realize I WAS ovulating, just not on the "standard" schedule. I would have never known without OvuSense! Do yourself a favor, get one for yourself and stress just a little less.

Highly Recommend Ovusense

I have used ovusense for so many years now and I can honestly say I am extremely happy with it. When I was going through IVF, even though I was being monitored the sensor was able to pick the fact that I was not responding the lower dosage of medication I was being given as my temps were constantly low. When I discussed this with my consultant, he increased my dosage and soon after, my temps were on the rise (I can provide evidence of this). a few days later - i was going for egg collection and I have baby girl from this. Without it - I would probably still be on lower dosage for a lot longer than it was necessary. Having used it for so many years has shown me I am not a textbook 28 day cycle lady. I always know when am ovulating and I have never once had issues connecting to the sensor. I have an iphone 12 pro. I would highly recommend and am happy to do a video on how I connect every morning.

Product and Customer Service are 100% Amazing!

This product is life changing. I struggle with PCOS and infertility. So to find a product that will help with that, is life altering. Now, the customer service, especially Kate S, well that is beyond amazing. She is kind, patient, professional yet compassionate and she put me at ease for asking about a billion questions, lol! So thank you to Ovusense for the amazing product and for choosing to hire Kate S(she should get a raise or at least lunch bought for her!) and Kate S for being so incredibly helpful and sweet! :)

Terrible product and customer service

I never normally write reviews but I feel so strongly about this product that I have to warn other women against it.
Really disappointed with this company. I bought Ovucore fertility monitor with the one time payment package. £300 is a lot of money to me but I wanted to save money in the long run so went for that option as I knew I wanted more than 1 child and had had issues getting my cycle regular. I was recommended this product by a healthcare practitioner and therefore didn't research it as much as I would have normally. If I had read the reviews on this page I wouldn't have touched it.

I had issues from the outset. I couldn't get the monitor to connect my phone and didn't realise if you didn't connect within a narrow window then the data was lost. It took weeks of speaking to customer service and getting nowhere.
All I wanted was my money back but as I had opened the box I was no longer allowed one. How can that be the case, there are so many reasons why a product may not be right for you and you won't know unless you try it!
My view is that I would have happily paid for the cost of the monitor as i realise that can't be used again but that is £70 and they wouldn't refund me any of the £300!

My feelings are that if you are confident with your product, you are willing to give a refund. The whole process of dealing with their customer service team was incredibly stressful and upsetting. They refused to entertain any form of refund even though I was within 30 days of purchase. Terrible customer service!

I am also a women's health physio and treat pelvic floor related conditions. I noticed the sensor caused my pelvic floor tone to increase when I wore it overnight and I had to do an internal release to relieve this. Increased pelvic floor tone is known to effect childbirth, so this is also a terrible side effect.

Once I did get the sensor to work, the readings were completely inaccurate and it said I hadn't ovulated when I had signs I had. I no longer use this product and feel I have completely wasted my time and money.

As a side note, you have to have the sensor in all night to get an accurate reading of if you have ovulated, it makes impromptu sex much harder!

All in all, this is a terrible product and I would recommend you don't try it.

Honestly gutted is an understatement!

Honestly gutted is an understatement!! As I can see not only my monitor was fit for the bin. I feel like woman like myself see this and think it’s brilliant if it worked for you great but in my case it’s caused me nothing but stress and SHOCKER THE 90 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR and it hasn’t been 90 days about 63 I believe. I agree customer service not the best but in all honesty please stop saying this will help woman with pcos because for me my BBT and other tests said I was ovulating this never picked it up once. Honestly ladies think before you buy. This company clearly doesn’t understand that when woman who struggle with pcos wait every month for that yes and no so when the product which isn’t cheap or the subscription isn’t picking anything up and your concerned there just so unhelpful

Again if it worked for people great but for me it made me believe I had stopped ovulation which cause me nothing but overwhelming stress.

Just an added note because every one of these reviews there seems to be a very unsatisfactory reply!!

I asked on a chat before ordering the skin worn sensor!! Maybe the staff need more training instead of just a sales gimmick. Was I offered a new sensor yes did I want it no.my money back would have been sufficient but then comes how I wasn’t eligible because of this reason or that reason so if this review stops one person getting ripped off I’m happy….

Our dedicated support agent recommended that you purchase the OvuCore Sensor and provided a link to the website to purchase.
Unfortunately, you did not follow the recommended advice and purchased the OvuFirst Sensor which is not suitable for women with hormonal imbalances (PCOS) due to so many temperature fluctuations, which are caused by the imbalance of hormones.

As a gesture of goodwill, we have offered you an OvuCore Sensor free of charge to ensure that you are getting the maximum benefit from OvuSense. Sadly, this has been declined but please be assured that this offer remains open, should you wish to change your mind.

Two babies conceived at age 40 and 42

I am 42 and I've used Ovusense for my last two pregnancies and I am happy with it overall. I used the vaginal sensor to track the return of my ovulatory cycles while weaning my babies off breastmilk. As I gradually weaned you could clearly see when in the cycle my ovulation would occur, with the follicular phase getting shorter and the luteal phase getting longer as my cycle normalised. Once each baby was weaned it only took a few cycles to conceive the next baby, and although my periods were a little irregular, Ovusense gave me a window in which I knew we could try. I found it helpful combining Ovusense with ovulation testing sticks (LH) to pinpoint the right day(s). Ultimately though, I would trust what Ovusense is telling you over anything else. It's also great for pinpointing your due date as you can say with complete confidence that you conceived on X date.
My only gripe was that when I first used it (2 years ago, to conceive my daughter, now 15 months), I must have had a faulty sensor, as it would take me up to 20 attempts to download the data onto my phone on the morning. This isn't normal! If this happens to you, contact them straight away and they'll send you a new one. I just didn't realise that it was just that individual sensor that was dodgy. Subsequent ones have worked instantly.
Their customer service is great, I've emailed a few times stressed or frustrated and they've replied quickly and calmly and are always helpful. I have two small children now and just found out I am 4 weeks pregnant with my 3rd.

Unimpressed. Wasted money.

I have had this device for three days now and I am slowly hating it. It just does not like connecting it to my phone. I am following all the steps detailed in the help pages but nope, it is still taking far far too long - I bought this to SAVE me time but instead I have had to get up even earlier to sit around for 20 minutes trying to download the data. Really not impressed.

I can see that you have been able to download your data successfully, which means the Sensor is working. Occasionally, connection troubles can be related to Sensor placement when attempting to download. OvuSense is life changing!

I have PCOS and despite medication and lifestyle changes helping me to get a sort of regular cycle of about 6 weeks, I still didn’t know if or when I was ovulating.

I invested in OvuSense and it’s truly life changing!

Straight away the sensor was telling me that I was ovulating naturally, but much later in my cycle than the typical day 14.

All doctors blood tests were carried out on day 14/16 so they said I wasn’t ovulating. But I was just a week or so later around day 21-24!

OvuSense doesn’t warn you when ovulating is coming, it confirms it after. However you can still see a trend once you start using the sensor for a few months and you can definitely estimate what week is best to try.

After using OvuSense for 5 months I fell pregnant, and am currently 7 weeks. Ironically the month I fell pregnant I ovulated really really late (day 47) because of the Covid booster. If it wasn’t for me tracking my temperatures and seeing an upward trend I would have missed my window.

I really recommend OvuSense and I will definitely use it again in the future if we are lucky enough to have another baby.

Our OvuFirst Sensor does not give 24 hour notification of ovulation, however our OvuCore Sensor can depending on your temperature readings leading up to ovulation.
